Why should I pay attention to sites that rank well in Bing?
-
If Google has the most market share, why would I use Bing to find backlinks.
This question relates to Raven Tools using backlinks found on Bing for their Domain Research tool? Wouldn't that make their tool inferior to one that uses Google?
Thanks,
Sam

1st your goal is most likely to generate sales or leads for you or your client. If that is the case what does it matter where the lead came from. What matters is finding where your potential customers are and reaching them.
Bing's market share is at 16.3% vs Google 67%. So Bing has 1 out of every 6 search customers.
So by ignoring Bing you are ignoring potential customers.
But when you pay attention to the backlinks from Bing you are diversifying your linking strategy. They saying goes "you should not put all of your eggs in one basket."

Google Ranking
I'm working on a page for couple of months now and try to rank for very competitive keyword. I have reached position 12 and it's 97% optimized, the sites keeps going up and down between position 10 & 13. I already changed content a couple of times and already created a few links with the targeted anchor tags. However I'm scared if I create more links it will be penalized. What do you suggest? Should I create more links with the targeted anchor tags or should combine the keyword in anchor tags with other words? Loading time, title, descriptions, content everything perfect optimized.

Can a feeder site link directly to the main site?
I have a client that has several coupons sites. They have about 15 different URLS all of which are [city]deals.com all of the domains have coupons lists that are relevant to that area. Other than the coupons there is not any other content on the sites. There is a Main site however, that has coupons, content, store locations, blogs, news etc... The coupons on the feeder sites are displayed differently than what is displayed on the main site. They are also categorized differently. So the question is on the feeder sites can they have the coupon link directly to the store page on the main site?

Article submission web-sites and SEO
Does article submission web-sites have any impact to SEO in these days? There are a lot of good/not so good article submission databases, but does it really matter if you spend a time to write unique articles for them? I mean, is it a good way for link-building, or should I spend more time for other parts of SEO? There are also a special websites (for example SubmitYourArticle) which automate this process, does it make sense to use this services? Alternates? Lots of questions… Update Sorry, I found some good answers only after that I posted this question.

Our ranking strategy - what to add and would it work?
Hello everyone, this is actually my first time to ask here so please be kind to me. I won't consider myself an expert on SEO, I originally studied to become a writer. I've been learning SEO for the past 1 1/2 years but recently I've encountered a wall. One of our clients wanted to rank high on Google in DIFFERENT countries. So far here are what we're doing: Keyword research + integrating keywords in content Site optimization (inserting keywords on meta tags) Blog development (10+ times a month with use of keywords) Linkbuilding (Local directory submission, submission on free PR sites, making sure client is listed on their partners' pages) I've always thought developing more content would help the site rank higher. Should we build links for a specific page that has our main keyword so that it would also rank higher? Or building links for the root domain just as good? Your comments and suggestions will surely help! Thanks!

Ranking discrepancies
The head office of our organisation has just set up a new website and I see that it is ranking third below two of our retail stores. I performed a link analysis s and see we out rank our stores in terms of Links etc. Can someone explain to me why we are below these stores. Also our website was only launched a week a go. Could this have an effect?

Links from Related Sites with Low PR or semi-related sites with High PR?
Is it better to get a link from a site with lower PR but related content or higher PR but semi-related or unrelated content? For example, if I sell shoes, would a link from a PR1 or PR2 shoe or apparel site be better or a link from PR4 website that sells books be better? I'm not talking about sites with completely unrelated content, but how relevant is PR in obtaining relevant links if I am trying to raise the PR and rankings of my own site?

Mobile sites link strategies
Hi, I am working for a large mobil-site (+200.000 pages), to improve their SEO, and am trying to figure out the best way to set up a linkbuilding strategy for the site. The urls are very dynamic and often rather long so deep linking is difficult. Any input/ideas would be welcome 🙂 Jens Peter
