Homepage display for seo

hi,
Which is the best , seo speaking, about the homepage display with a CMS (joomla here).
1/ To display articles as "blog" and thus articles are always recent but not the same (chronological)..
2/ To display always a same article (just 1) but updated sometimes to times ?
3/ Both of them are good ?

I usually put on the home page a lot of links when I don't want to rank the homepage for specific keyword (or when it's too hard to rank). My homepage has to give it's juice the best way, so :
-
First the top pages of my site (selected manually, or the most popular ones), so you may put the articles you want to rank the most

Then the pages recently created to index them faster in Google and give content freshness to the domain

Finally the pages with recent activity (update, comments, etc.), this usually allow old pages to get some fresh internal link

You can go with any one from these approach. Main thing how much interesting content is. Content should be useful for the users.
Regarding SEO Purpose, updations is major ethics and both approach is going to update content on regular basis, so you can go with any approach.

You mean that when you link something internal , the path is always www.mydomain.com/article so the root is always mentioned and then bring mor juicy link, weight and so on ?

A homepage is not always "the page" with the highest PR, isn't ?
A page on the same domain can bring higher Pr according its content, internal/external links, backlinks...

No, not really. Technically if the number of outgoing links changed drastically you could alter the flow of page rank on the website, but I wouldn't fuss about it.

no i wouldent have the blog on the home page as suggested you lose control of the on page. Use the blog to increase content elsewhere

Up to know (for more than 2 years) i 've got a still homepage, i 'd like to change now rather for a blog "presentation", does this change could influence something for the PR of the page or domain ?

Personally I've seen both approaches work well, and I don't think Google favours either type of website.
A more dynamic homepage is harder though to optimize for specific keywords - as your posts change you may end up not having your top target keywords on the home page in some instances. You can solve this by having a portion of the text on the home page static.

SEO for a a static content website
Hi everyone, We would like to ask suggestions on how to improve our SEO for our static content help website. With the release of each new version, our company releases a new "help" page, which is created by an authoring system. This is the latest page: http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/ I have a couple of questions: 1- The page has an index with many links that open up new subpages with content for users. It is impossible to add title tags to this subpages, as everything is held together by the mother page. So it is really hard to for users to find these subpage information when they are doing a google search. 2- We have previous "help" pages which usually rank better in google search. They also have the same structure (1 page with big index and many subpages) and no metadata. We obviously want the last version to rank better, however, we are afraid exclude them from bots search because the new version is not easy to find. Improving SEO Structure of a Page

b) Profiles of Service Providers We also have 2 very important pages:
a) The Job Listing Page
b) The Service Provider Page The Listing pages have very valuable H1 Titles, but everything else is duplicate content. To capture those keywords currently in H1, we have created a different landing page for each category page, and we`ll optimize around that, so these H1s are not that big of a deal any more. These landing pages are the key to our SEO strategy and we are building new content every day to help them rank I want to make the Listing Pages No Index Follow. This way they pass Juice to Jobs, and Profiles which have unique contents, but are not indexed themselves. Is this a bad idea? I have been thinking about doing this for over a year but it never felt important enough to be worth the risk of accidentally screwing up We `ll soon do a new on page flow optimization and that's why I am considering this again. Can a CMS affect SEO?
As the title really, I run www.specialistpaintsonline.co.uk and 6 months ago when I first got it it had bad links which google had put a penalty against it so losts it value. However the penalty was lift in Sept, the site corresponds to all guidelines and seo work has been done and constantly monitored. the issue I have is sales and visits have not gone up, we are failing fast and running on 2 or 3 sales a month isn't enough to cover any sort of cost let alone wages. hence my question can the cms have anything to do with it? Im at a loss and go grey any help or advice would be great. thanks in advance.

we are in the process or rewriting all the pages on one of our sites and will be changing some urls around. i was just wondering if dashes or underscores are better in the urls SEO wise? www.site.com/word-word-word/ or

Domain redirection and seo implications
We have an existing site that is a subdomain but we recently acquired an exact match domain. Will building links to the exact match domain and having the domain point at our existing subdomain work or should we convert the entire site and redirect our existing subdomain to the new domain? What I'm trying to figure out is how to maximize the benefit here and how the existing mass of links pointing to our existing subdomain (shop.domain.com) can be used. New domain: keywordshop.com Existing URL: shop.domain.com

How To SEO Mobile Pages?
hello, I have finally put my first foot on the path of trying to learn and understand mobile SEO. I have a few questions regarding mobile SEO and how it works, so please help me out. I use wordpress for my site, and there is a nifty plugin called WP touch http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wptouch/ What it basically does is, it converts your desktop version into a mobile friendly version. I wanted to know that if it does that, does this mean whatever SEO i do for my regular web site gets accomplished for my moible version as well? Another simple question is, if i search for the same term on my mobile phone then on my desktop how different will the SERs be? thanks moz peeps

What is the best website structure for SEO?
I've been on SEOmoz for about 1 month now and everyone says that depending on the type of business you should build up your website structure for SEO as 1st step. I have a new client click here ( www version doesn't work)... some bugs we are fixing it now. We are almost finished with the design & layout. 2nd question have been running though my head. 1. What would the best url category for the shop be /products/ - current url cat ex: /products/door-handles.html 2. What would you use for the main menu as section for getting the most out of SEO. Personally i am thinking of making 2-3 main categories on the left a section where i can add content to it (3-4 paragraphs... images maybe a video).So the main page focuses on the domain name more and the rest of the sections would focus on specific keywords, this why I avoid cannibalization. Main keyword target is "door handles" Any suggestions would be appreciated.
