Tracking FB views
-
This is somewhat off-topic, but this seems like a good place to ask.
Has anyone used a script/code/3rd party service that allows you to track who has viewed your profile?
-
Such a script/app is against the facebook terms of service. At https://www.facebook.com/help/210896588933875/ FB states:
Can I know who’s looking at my timeline or how often it’s being viewed?
No, Facebook doesn't let you track who views your timeline or your posts (ex: your photos). Third party apps also can't provide this functionality.
If you come across an app that claims to offer this ability, please report the app.

I am talking about a personal Facebook page. Is there a way to know who has viewed your profile? Any analytics available for persona FB pages?
I know FB does not allow Javascript or GA tracking, but I have read there are ways around it.
Thanks for the help.

PS if you are asking about SEOmoz You didn't specify so I don't believe that is something that they will allow however you are welcome to ask the staff e-mail you the analytics reports on your profile. I doubt don't share that but they might. Once not under view a week or month again you can make any link trackable so where it's accessed matters
your affiliate code would be something that gives your information

you can of course mix that with http://sendible.com/ to make a great platform.
If you're asking if you can tell if somebody has looked at your twitter profile I don't believe so that's proprietary to twitter. If you are asking about Facebook no I'm going to say again I don't believe so unless they click a link or do something else or you make the link trackable to access it which you can do with the 1st software I gave you.
You will also not be happy with Google plus as they will not tell you in addition I believe only LinkedIn is the one that spills beans.
However if you have awe.sm link for your twitter profile on your site you will know exactly how many times it's been pushed.
Hope I have helped,
Tom

Absolutely my favorite social media tracking tool and the best as far as making domains that are Twitter friendly shareable and your own.
http://Totally.awe.sm is the website if you want to purchase a domain that is 3 or 4 letters and matches your brand I would suggest domainr.com as it will find the domain you're looking for.

Namecheap is currently having a sale on .PW I saw this 3 days ago so please don't hold me accountable if it's not still for sale however it was only $3 a domain. Regardless SEOMoz pro perks allows us to purchase domains for $5 from name cheap you can find that at the bottom of the page.
Totally.awe.sm integrates with kiss metrics, mix panel, and of course Google analytics you will see all know all and be like Yoda to on twitter.
I hope I have been of help,
Thomas

Company FB Page Automatically Friend-Requesting Admins' Contacts
Hola, So today we added 3 or 4 admins to our company FB page. Our company FB consists of a 'profile' and that 'profile' has create a FB 'page' for the business. All of a sudden, the profile (not the company 'page') started to get a new friends. We thought this was weird as we weren't using this for promotion, we were using the company FB page. Anyway, when we dug a little deeper, we found the profile had automatically sent friend requests to all of the admins' contacts (around 2,000 people!). When we checked the friend request page, we realised we can't cancel all the requests, they have to be done individually! Why would FB do this? It might not be so bad if it was actually inviting the admins' contacts to 'like' the business page, but it's just adding them to the main profile's friend list. The only solution we can find is to deactivate/delete the profile and keep the company page with all the admin attached. Any ideas on this one? It's very weird and now it just looks like our fleldgling business is spamming people! Cheers, Lewis

Follower Wonk Did You Forget To Add Sentiment Tracking?
Buongiorno from Wether by UK Latitude 53.92705600 Longitude -1.38481600 Ok after 20 mins or clicking around https://followerwonk.com/ I couldnt find any way of measuring sentiment tracking. For example i wanted to know how many users where mentioning @PhilpottsLtd but all i could get was a salvo of follow data. Whilst I know this is of some use sentiment tracking i.e being able to measure users dissing or loving your brand would be more usefull. So my question is please..."In follerwonk how can you measure whats being said about a brand" Grazie Tanto, David

I have a client involved in a FB like for a like scheme. This sounds unethical to me and likely against FB rules. Anyone know about this?
So they recently made me an administrator so I can add links to articles and other optimization information but they appear to be paying another agency to engage in like for a like campaign. I am very uncomfortable with it. I started noticing these weird messages from other folks on FB saying things like "I liked you page now check out mine and like it back." What are your thoughts?

Can you have FB Comments post to a business page?
I am looking into incorporating Facebook Comments into my site. When commenting it gives the option to the commentor to post it on their FB wall. Can it be setup to post everyone's comments on my site on our FB business page? I tried to use the commenting tools while logged in as a page, but it said I had to be logged in as a person. If not, how do I get notified someone has commented on my website through FB Comments so I can reply?

Does the value of Twitter/FB shares change depending on the url used?
I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the use rel canonical. I just watched WBF and it brought up a question that I had. I had a situation where some of my pages could be accessed a couple of ways: www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24-keyword-rich-url, or www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24 I used rel canonical to tell the search engines that the keyword rich url was the one to index. Now, we all know that shares on Twitter, FB, etc. can add value to my site's SEO. So, if someone happens to be on the non-keyword-rich url and they click a button to share, do I still get the same seo benefit? Which brings me to a related question...if someone shares your content via a bitly or other shortened domain, is there any difference to the benefit you would get as compared to them sharing the full domain name?
