How do I find what backlinks have disappeared?
-
I have seen a decrease in backlinks, how do I figure out which ones are no longer there?
-
it's 5 years using their historical data
-
I have been in contact with A href and they only go back 2 months do you know how far back Majestic goes?
-
it gives you all your lost backlinks as well (like ahrefs)
Link research tools can easily do this too.

Hi Niners52,
Rather than rely on an external tool to have found all of the URLs in a crawl and report them accurately, I would run a direct crawl using Screaming Frog.
There is a post on their blog which provides step by step instructions on how to use the tool to crawl a specific list of URLs.
You can only do this with the licensed version of Screaming Frog, but if you are not already using it, the cost is only 99 British pounds per year, and it is crazy useful for a thousand other things. A little more value for money than just subscribing to a more specific tool for just one month.
This way you will actually have a crawl result, not just a read from another tool.
Hope that helps,
Sha

If you want more data then you must pay for it.

I am looking at paying for an account for a month but it seems it only shows the last two months of what has been lost, I really need to go back about 6 months. is that possible?
-
You can create a free account. It's better than nothing
-
Is there a way to do it without a subscription?
-
http://ahrefs.com will show you the links you have lost.
-
ahrefs.com can show it to you

Natural or Unnatural backlinks
Somebody embedded a link to one of my websites on the sidebar of her blog. It ends up hundreds of links from this blog. Will this type of links be considered unnatural links by Google? Here is the url of the blog. http://chordsandmore.blogspot.com/ To find the link to my site, please search "yoke wong". Thanks.

Pr4 domain backlink from a blog post
I'm about to do a guest blog post on a pr4 domain. Will I be getting an actual pr4 backlink? I'm thinking since it's technically not going to be on the homepage forever since it's just a blog post and also a blog post has it's on page once you click on it I'm not going to get a pr4 backlink. Correct?

Backlinks... If you can beat them & join them?!
I have a competitor who has swooped in on most of the key search terms in my niche, solely through artificial backlinking. There is a direct and obvious correlation between this link building and rise in the serps. I know the mantra around here is creating good content and gaining real links, which I am doing. But I am waiting to unleash this content during a site relaunch which is months away. I don't want to sit around and do nothing while this site makes money and builds their list. I have money to spend and want to go head to head with this site. Would it make sense for me to go and copy all of the links this competitor has built? At least 90% of them are profiles, article subs and blog comments. Also, what do you think would be the best way to tackle this? Any guidance as always is appreciated.

Backlinks from PR sites not showing in Open Site Explorer
Hi, Over the last year I have used a range of different PR sites to post news articles that link back to various pages on my site. However, barely any show up as link backs on Open Site Explorer, neither follow nor nofollow links. Can anyone explain why this is and whether or not the dofollow links count towards SEO if they are not picked up by OSE?

Are backlinks to a domain that redirects useless?
I am working on trying to get backlinks. We are currently redirecting a few Domains to our current domain name. One of the Domains that is redirecting is the main Domain, we will be advertising in the near future. Can I send backlinks to the redirected URL or does it only carry link juice if it is to the main Domain?
