Deeper Anchor Link Finding Tool?
-
Hi! We are still working on removing some paid backlinks from an old SEO company. Used Removeem.com which uses OpenSiteExplorer. Thought we had them all cleaned up. Removed many and disavowed the rest. Submitted a reconsideration request, but our amigos at Google said, "No, no no...."
So, the example offending remaining link they gave us was xyzs.blogspot.com. However, the anchor text link that Open Site Explorer was just xyzs.com. Interestingly enough, Google told us to look at their list of links and this sample links was not even there. (neither version.)
So, we signed up for majesticseo as it integrates wtih removem via api if you have an account, but that didn't really add any links.
Is there a deeper tool we can use? Any ideas on how to locate some of these hard to find anchor links that Google is talking about?
Any other tools out there?
Thanks!!
Craig

If Google has said to look at their list then I would dig deep into that list. It could be something other than a overly optimized anchor. Check out the domains, pages links are placed.... are they selling links or up to something sketchy?

Does reciprocal linking carry any value?
No matter how much I research this one, there's no definite answer and there's a lot of contradictions. Basically we're looking to launch an article on 24 expert interior design tips for 2015. Each tip is submitted from a different interior designer we have chosen who have a reputable, trusted website. The main goal for this article is to generate various inbound links for our site from the designers and it will help to create engagement on social media. Although if we're giving out links to these designers for their contributions, the inbound links we receive in return will be little or no value as this is reciprocal linking? Some say this is okay as it's completely natural within the blog posts, others say to avoid it as it can be seen as an obsolete practice to deceive Google. Does anyone have any more information on this and how it should be carried out? Would a better process be to link to their social media accounts? Rather than reciprocal linking? Thanks

Updating inbound links vs. 301 redirecting the page they link to
Hi everyone, I'm preparing myself for a website redesign and finding conflicting information about inbound links and 301 redirects. If I have a URL (we'll say website.com/website) that is linked to by outside sources, should I get those outside sources to update their links when I change the URL to website.com/webpage? Or is it just as effective from a link juice perspective to simply 301 redirect the old page to the new page? Are there any other implications to this choice that I may want to consider? Thanks!

Canonical Link Quesiton
I wrote an article that is a page article, but would also be a very good blog post - So my question is two things: 1. If i post it as a static page and syndicate it as a blog post and have it as a canonical link to the page, google will read see the blog and read the page _url as the one with credit correct? In turn not dinging me for duplicate content. 2. Given if the above statement is correct, should I write the blog and put it on my static page referencing the blog or the way i have it as a static page with the blog using a canonical reference back to the page. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Webmaster Tools finding phantom 404s?
We recently (three months now!) switched over a site from .co.uk to .com and all old urls are re-directing to the new site. However, Google Webmaster tools is flagging up hundreds of 404s from the old site and yet doesn't report where the links were found, i.e. in the 'Linked From' tab there is no data and the old links are not in the sitemap. SEOmoz crawls do not report any 404s. Any ideas?

What do you do about links to constantly moving pages?
One of the sites I work for is an employment site, they have a job database and the job pages tend to get links. The problem is that every time one of these jobs is filled, the job page goes away. What should I do to keep the value from these links?
