Reducing number crawl-able links?

Hello,
I just like to ask for best practice when it comes to reduce number of internal links on a site with a mega menu.
Since the mega menu lists all categories and all their subcategories it creates a problem when all categories are linking to all categories directly..
Would the method below reduce the number of links and preventing the link juice flowing directly from category to category?

Makes sense, I absolutely don't want to chance with the menu and have it mistaken for cloaking. We will now look at other solutions for a more traditional menu with better internal linking and less links.

I haven't seen this solution in play, but I'd be cautious. It's a bit gray, at best. Google is okay with AJAX-driven menus, for example, and often won't crawl them, but this adaptation of HTML5 is kind of cheating the attributes of a link, and that could get you into trouble. Google may just outright crawl them anyway.
Truthfully, the data on mega-menu usability is really mixed. People often find them much less useful than webmasters and business owners think they are. Many people never see them at all. I think you should really consider your information architecture and whether even having mega-menus is useful. When you make everything important, each thing becomes less important, both for people and for Google.

So you think these would hide these links from goggle's bot, but will be usable for the end user?
I know the "no follow" link sculpting does not work, and I'm sure google would be switched on to tricks to hide links to sculpt. If the trick does work, its the type of thing google does not want you to do, so I wouldn't do it incase I get punished by google down the line. (maybe I missunderstand what your trying to do).
I'm not familiar with that type of link, so I don't know if it would work on a technical level.

Internal and Link Juice Analysis - Too Many Links Error
Howdy! I have an analysis question related to internal links/link juice. Here is the general link set up of our site: 1. All Site Pages (Including Home Page): We have drop down "mega" menus in the header of everypage linking to various sub-categories on the site. So, because of this, in our header, we have a few hundred links to various pages on our site and these show up on every page of the site. 2. Product Pages: Header pages as mentioned above, but on top of that, we list out the keywords for that particular product and each keyword is linked back to our search results pages for that particular keyword. In General Moz is telling us we are having between 200-300 links on each product page. Currently, our Search Results pages are ranking higher and showing up in search more than our actual product pages. So, based on the above info, here are some thoughts: 1. Should we ajax in the Header links so that they aren't showing up for the search engines? Or, should we ajax them in only on all pages that are not the Home Page? 2. Should we get rid of the keyword links back to the Search Results pages that are on the product pages? What effect would these changes "actually" have? Does this just improve crawling? Or are there other positive results that would come of changes like these? We have hundreds of thousands of products, so if we were to make changes like these, could we experience negative results? Internal Link Title and Anchor Text Question
So, I am kind of a newbie with all of this stuff, so please bear with me! If you have a chance to look into the domain it's www.noip.com I have checked the internal followed and 301 links. It seems like it is pulling in all of our navigation a funky way. all of those link have no data for the title and the anchor text is Home, Contact Us, Forgot Password?, ETC. Is this correct? I have tried to look into the way other websites are doing it and it seems wrong. I tried to talk to my developer, but he is not so sure. Do we simply need to make more copy on our site that has internal links within the copy with anchor text that is for keywords that I would like to be ranking for? Like Managed DNS? and then that page goes to the managed DNS page? Or what? Sorry if i am not being totally clear. Any help and advice is 110% welcomed!!! Natalie

Product links on homepage
Hi, I;m wondering if it really does aid SEO or even hinder it now to have lists of top selling products as links on the base of each page. This was recommended to us sometime ago by a consultant so we did it but is it outdated? Too many links

Internal links
Hi, I am working on a project with very few really important pages - its now about 20 pages and this number will not increase to more than 30 by the end of the year. Today the majority of these Pages is 2 clicks away from the Homepage for navigational reasons. Now I am wondering: 1. If I should set links from the Homepage directly to these Pages to pass more juice?

Eliminating outbound links for long tail-targeting pages
I have a number of pages that rank on the 1st page for highly long tail phrases, despite the pages having outbound links to things like 'privacy policy' 'terms of use', make a payment, etc...all pages that can be accessed from the home page. Do you recommend I eliminate these administrative pages from the long tail-targeting pages, to reduce outbound page rank flow? Does anyone create a different breadcrumb navigation or remove one altogether for pages that are highly targeted to improve their rank?
