Ideas for making a mini-content farm more valuable to end users

I run a mini-content farm so to speak - a nationwide computer repair business. We have screened professionals that are specific to one industry. I was wondering if the SEO community would like to offer ideas on how to make this type of site more interesting to end users. What are some things that could be integrated into the site that are 'location specific' that would be of interest to users. I'd like to be able to offer a list of certified, screen, professionals that is searchable by zip code and town. We are planning on showing the quality control rating, as well as current certifications, and a checkbox showing that they were background checked. Customer testimonials are also in the works. Any other ideas?

Brainstorming here:
Put professionals and potential clients in contact inside your site, using a meritocratic chart list, were the the highest evaluation is from the clients the highest is the ranking. Evaluation based over tips and tricks and actionable help to answers made by the "clients"

Make a social network or profile website where everyone has their own space where they can write (something like a personal blog). Now, ask people to write reviews, send customers and users of your services for any of these professionals a feedback form with the URL to their profile and tell them to rate and review these guys.
Keep a strict moderation policy and try extracting useful information and compile them in a wiki kind of a storyboard as a summary of discussions, or a composed real time bio.
That should keep search engines interested.

Another website copying our blog content but credit us. Still bad?
Hi Moz community, A few businesses that we work with are asking if they can leverage our content such as blogs by basically copying it and post it on their site. They will give us credit for the content though. My concern is that going to cause duplicate content issue and hurt us with our SEO? We'd like to provide it to them in a way that would benefit us or at least doesn't hurt us. I can think of a few possible options... 1. Have them only copy part of the content and link back to our site with a link "Read the original article" or something similar 2. Have them implement rel=canonical back to our site 3. Have them just copy the whole thing (because it doesn't really hurt us?). In that case, do we have them link back to us or no? Is there anything I missed? What's the best option for us? What is the best practice for using the same content on two pages?
I have two websites in a very similar niche(s)...I have good unique content article that I would like to use on both sites because it adds value to the visitor experience.. Example: Science of Colors would be very useful for my seattle house painting paint colors page. I want to have content so they do not need to leave the site to navigate to second site. Would the identical content trigger a penalty or would it be crawled, ignored, and not indexed. Does having a rel=authorship on one site trump the site..Or is it a pile of BAD.

How to best take advantage of content being used on another site?
We've never syndicated content or done "article marketing". Another site contacted us and requested to use the content on several of our webpages. The other site is a fairly prestigious nonprofit in our industry. We don't mind them using our content, but we want to get the most benefit out of it. There are two ways the occur to me: Have them create pages with the exact same text as on our pages, but put in the header of those pages Just have them create pages with the text from our pages with embedded links back to our other pages. Each page they create will say "Content courtesy of XXX" Does anyone have opinions on which way is best, or another approach?

Sourcing content and images for Office Interior Design Blog
Im currently building a blog on Wordpress, and I will be blogging about Office Interior Designs. When I look at my competition they have some great blog posts about office interior designs and I have no idea about how they get: a) The ideas to blog about, how do they find out about these office interior designs b) how they get the content for them, how do they know what to write about each one, do they need permission etc, c) if i am interested in doing a blog on the same office interior design as them, how can I get information )and permission from the company that done the office interior design) on the office interior design so i can blog about it and also how do i get the images and stuff. an example is http://www.officedesignblog.com/invensys-rail-office-concept/726/ I would like to cover this aswell, as i think my future readers would like to know about this. how did they get the images, and the information about the project so they could write a blog post about it? When trying to decide what is low quality content, page views & bounce rate are the main indicators I use for pages already on site. But, how do you measure the quality of content that you are trying to produce? Is it entirely subjective?

How can I use my unique content to my advantage?
Hi, I run http://ablemagazine.co.uk - we also put out a print magazine every 2 months (the biggest disability magazine in Britain) This means we have loads of unique content (around 30 feature stories and 30 news stories every 2 months) Just wondering how I can use this to my advantage? I've been social bookmarking the feature stories (reddit, etc) and a link to all my unique stuff on facebook/twitter. Just wondering if there's anything else I should be doing? Thanks
