Simple Wordpress Question regarding Footer Link

I have a client with a site that has the company that built their website's link in the footer. How can I remove this? I am pretty proficient with Wordpress but I am drawing a blank. The site is www.northatlantacleaning.com

It could be a footer widget. If you go to the Appearance| Widgets section, you may a footer widget section--look in there for your code. It may also be in the settings section of your theme's options--be sure to look through that section too.

In genesis framework you edit the footer in functions.php
You could Google something like "Studiopress footer code snippet" or check at studiopress.com in the menu under Ressources > Code Snippets.

I looked in the editor in the main theme and the child theme. I used control f to search for it and didn't find their link. Any other possibilities?

I don't see anything odd. To me it looks to be located in the footer file. Go appeance/editor/footer.php look for that snippet of code and delete. It also looks to me to be the only bit of html in the footer. Don't forget to update your file afterwards.

Highlight the portion of the footer you want to remove, right click the highlighted portion and "inspect elements". This will tell you exactly what the code for that snippet is. Hope that helps.

Is there any way to tell if it's encrypted before doing it? From the website source?

There is a slight chance that the footer link is encrypted and removing it will break the formatting of the theme. Just a heads up, if you see that happen you'll need to do a little bit of Googling and you will find the solution, it's only slightly tricky if you know programming.

Yes that is correct. Also, when you remove it, don't forget to update the file, simple but people tend to forget.

When in Wordpress, click on "Appearance", "Editor", and you'll likely find "Footer" in the right column. I would guess that is where they included it.

WordPress and Redirects
I just converted my site to wordpress. Previously urls like www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/9g and www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/9g.html would go to the same page. Since using wordpress the first one will not work. I did not have redirects set up so was wondering if there is something I am forgetting to easily make it to where if someone types in both urls it will go to the same page.

Replacing Slider Image WordPress
Hi Everyone, I decided to delete my slider from my homepage and replace it with a static image. However, after I deleted the slider, I'm left with a dark square where the slider used to be. I want to put my new static image in that same spot, but have no idea how. Does anyone know where or what code I should add to do that? New more "helpful" internal linking causing SERP & traffic drop?
Still dealing with the weird traffic drop on my website. I have removed a bunch of old links from a defunct blog, 301 thin pages, added text to remaining pages. I'm still stumped. So awhile ago I freshened up my website and thought I was "helping people" by making sure they could CONTACT the studio more easily... I added more links to the "contact page" I thought this would help conversions...This changed the number of links to my entire site....Would this be the problem with my ranking/traffic drop? http://bayareaboudoir.com/babinternal1.pdf

Website Redesign 301 Question
Hey Moz gang, I have a question that I believe I know how I'm going to handle, but just wanted some feedback from the Moz community on best practices. At my company, we're going through a site redesign. At the moment, our site is deeper than it should be with many one-off feature pages. For example, we have a Features page that then links to individual pages for each specific feature. One goal we have set for the redesign is a condensing of the pages in order to make the site more user-friendly, easy to manage and content rich. My question is this. We have a lot of these individual pages that I want to essentially kill and merge into one page. It is okay (best practice) to 301 all of those individual feature specific pages to the single Features page since that is now where all of that content lives?? I want to retain the link juice that those pages have gained over time, but I don't want to get penalized for too many 301's to a single page. Any advice or previous experience would be awesome 🙂 Thanks, Lance

Linking to an image with the keyword in the title and alt tags.
Hi guys, Just thought I'd ask for opinions about an ecommerce catalog I'm working on. I don't know if it's even worth worrying about, but here's the scenario. Let's say I'm linking to a category called 'Sale' using an image, I have the title tag of the link as 'Sale', the image title is also 'Sale' as well as the alt tag. The HTML looks like this: Sale The page itself is: http://www.fashionbasicsonline.com/catDisplay So my question is, do you think I'm stuffing the keyword in too many times there? It's CMS driven so I could have the alt tag as 'Sale Products' or one of the titles as 'Sale Catalog' perhaps, do you think there would be a benefit in doing that? Maybe it's microoptimisation and I should be looking at other low hanging fruit, but I'm just trying to come up with the best scenario. Would love to hear what you think. Cheers, Bruce p.s. Site redesign and links?
I have a real estate website. On my sidebar I have about 16 links to pages on various neighborhoods. I templated my site using dream weaver so the same sidebar and links are on every page. I'm thinking of redesigning the sidebar and having one link that will take visitors to a page where all the neighborhood links will be and then from there visitors can choose whichever link to go to a specific neighborhood info page. I am doing this to clear space on my side bar for other content and links. What impact would this have on my home page? The website is bronxpad.com if anyone wants to check it out and provide feedback.

My website www.kids-iq-tests.com is mainly focused on articles; however, I have noticed that after adding a few images of celebrities, I have gained a lot of traffic from image searches from Google. My point is that by adding images of popular celebrities to an article, you can gain a substantial amount of traffic. give it a try and see if you can gain traffic from image searches.
