Crawl Diagnostics

My site was crawled last night and found 10,000 errors due to a Robot.txt change implemented last week in between Moz crawls. This is obviously very bad so we have corrected it this morning. We do not want to wait until next Monday (6 days) to see if the fix has worked. How do we force a Moz crawl now?
Thanks

Its a dotnetblogengine.com blog its open source but not sure where to start

Why so many duplicates? As it's a blog I suspect it's something to do with tags and/or categories.
Instead of trying to hide the problem using the robot.txt file can tackle the root cause directly?
-
Hi,
As Chris says I don't think there is a way to force a refresh on your campaign crawls, but that crawl test tool should be able to give you an indication if the relevant pages are still producing duplicate content issues or if the fix seems to be reducing them.
That being said, I don't think that robots.txt is the best way to approach duplicate content issues generally. Check out this guide for best practices. It is also worth noting that many times duplicate content issues can be solved by simply removing or adjusting the various differently formatted links that are producing them in the first place (though this depends a lot on which cms you are using and what the root cause of the duplicate content is).

Thanks
9000 duplicate content and duplicate page titles caused by my blog. I have added
User-agent: *Allow: /Blog/post/Disallow: /Blog
to the Robot.txt to just allow the main site and the Blog posts
Is this a good way to fix it?

I'm pretty sure that you're not able to force a refresh of your campaign stats in between your normal weekly crawl. This tool will crawl the site but it doesn't refresh your campaign. Specifically, what errors were found that you're trying to get rid of?
-
Hi,
I think this will do what you are after: http://pro.moz.com/tools/crawl-test, limited to 3000 pages but should give an idea if the fix is working as you expect.
-
Thanks but I require a Moz crawl first.

"Submit URL to Index," which allows you to submit new and updated URLs that Google themselves say they "will usually crawl that day"

Duplicate content in crawl despite canonical
Hi! I've had a bunch of duplicate content issues come up in a crawl, but a lot of them seem to have canonical tags implemented correctly. For example: http://www.alwayshobbies.com/brands/aztec-imports/-catg=Fireplaces http://www.alwayshobbies.com/brands/aztec-imports/-catg=Nursery http://www.alwayshobbies.com/brands/aztec-imports/-catg=Turntables http://www.alwayshobbies.com/brands/aztec-imports/-catg=Turntables?page=0 Aztec http://www.alwayshobbies.com/brands/aztec-imports/-catg=Turntables?page=1 Any ideas on what's happening here?

Crawl diagnostics incorrectly reporting duplicate page titles
Hi guys, I have a question in regards to the duplicate page titles being reported in my crawl diagnostics. It appears that the URL parameter "?ctm" is causing the crawler to think that duplicate pages exist. In GWT, we've specified to use the representative URL when that parameter is used. It appears to be working, since when I search site:http://www.causes.com/about?ctm=home, I am served a single search result for www.causes.com/about. That begs the question, why is the SEOMoz crawler saying there is duplicate page titles when Google isn't (doesn't appear under the HTML improvements for duplicate page titles)? A canonical URL is not used for this page so I'm assuming that may be one reason why. The only other thing I can think of is that Google's crawler is simply "smarter" than the Moz crawler (no offense, you guys put out an awesome product!). Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm looking forward to being an active participant in the Q&A community! Cheers, Brad

Crawl started on the 18th of December and still hasn't completed!
As the title states I started a crawl over 2 weeks ago now and it still hasn't completed. Does anyone know why this could be? Thanks

Is there a way to get the SEO campaign crawl to run from outside the US?
We are working on a international site that uses IP redirection. I am currently trying to crawl and monitor the Australian version of the site, however the pro-campaign crawler is running from the US and only giving me US data. Is there a way to tell the crawler to run through a local proxy so we can track international versions? Thanks!

Initial Crawl Questions
Hello. I just joined and used the Crawl tool. I have many questions and hoping the community can offer some guidance. 1. I received an Excel file with 3k+ records. Is there a friendly online viewer for the Crawl report? Or is the Excel file the only output? 2. Assuming the Excel file is the only output, the Time Crawled is a number (i.e. 1305798581). I have tried changing the field to a date/time format but that did not work. How can I view the field as a normal date/time such as May 15, 2011 14:02? 3. I use the ™ symbol in my Title. This symbol appears in the output as a few ascii characters. Is that a concern? Should I remove the trademark symbol from my Title? 4. I am using XenForo forum software. All forum threads automatically receive a Title Tag and Meta Description as part of a template. The Crawl Test report shows my Title Tag and Meta Description as blank for many threads. I have looked at the source code of several pages and they all have clean Title tags and I don't understand why the Crawl Report doesn't show them. Any ideas? 5. In some cases the HTTP Status Code field shows a result of "3". Why does that mean? 6. For every URL in the Crawl Report there is an entry in the Referrer field. What exactly is the relationship between these fields? I thought the Crawl Tool would inspect every page on the site. If a page doesn't have a referring page is it missed? What if a page has multiple referring pages? How is that information displayed? 7. Under Google Webmaster Tools > Site Configurations > Settings > Parameter Handling I have the options set as either "Ignore" or "Let Google Decide" for various URL parameters. These are "pages" of my site which should mostly be ignored. For example a forum may have 7 headers, each on of which can be sorted in ascending or descending order. The only page that matters is the initial page. All the rest should be ignored by Google and the Crawl. Presently there are 11 records for many pages which really should only have one record due to these various sort parameters. Can I configure the crawl so it ignores parameter pages? I am anxious to get started on my site. I dove into the crawl results and it's just too messy in it's present state for me to pull out any actionable data. Any guidance would be appreciated.

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Hello guys, our site is nearly perfect - according to SEOmoz campaign overview. But, it shows me 5200 Errors, more then 2500 Pages with Duplicate Content plus more then 2500 Duplicated Page Titles. All these pages are sites to edit profiles. So I set them "noindex, follow" with meta robots. It works pretty good, these pages aren't indexed in the search engines. But why the SEOmoz tools list them as errors? Is there a good reason for it? Or is this just a little bug with the toolset? The URLs which are listet as duplicated are http://www.rimondo.com/horse-edit/?id=1007 (edit the IDs to see more...) http://www.rimondo.com/movie-edit/?id=10653 (edit the IDs to see more...) The crawling picture is still running, so maybe the errors will be gone away in some time...? Kind regards
