Keyword Difficulty Report - Google Engine selected, however system is return Bing results
-
Is there happening for anybody else??
We run a Keyword difficulty report and select Google Australia, however in the results it is showing the values for Bing search volume ... instead of Google
-
Hi Lee,
We used to be able to pull from Google's API to show keyword volume and now we are using Bing.
-
I see..
With that in mind my other suggestion would be more relevant.
To change 'Bing keyword volume exact match' to 'Google Keyword volume Match' and just put underneath that 'No Data Available'
-
Hi Lee,
The functionality is not for the keyword volume, just the keyword analysis highlighted here: http://www.screencast.com/t/ZRcUgBDbDR
Everything between the two is an extra feature.
I know it is very confusing and I am actually trying to get this updated with labels to show which search engine was used for the analysis or at least have the analysis appear directly below the drop down options.
I hope it clears things up a little.
-
Hi David,
If you can't offer that functionallity within the system why do you still have the options to select within the Drop Down menu??
And to avoid confusion with general users if you can't change the menus at least change 'Bing' results to 'Google' and just state no data available.
-
Thank you for clearing that up. That makes a lot of sense.
All the best,
Thomas

Hey Everyone!
The search volume you're looking for is pulled from Google's Adwords API. We unfortunately no longer use the AdWords API and it's unlikely that we will be getting it back. We are working on an alternative resource for that information but we have no solid time frame right now.
The data is available directly from your AdWords account as well if you need it.
That section is separate from the rest of the report so the choices you see in the drop down will not affect the volume and will always remain static on every report.
It is a little confusing and I do apologize.

Hi Lee,
When you're setting up your campaign normally you use search engines Google Australia is the secular search engine to be used.
You do not go add any other search engine's
I understand completely and so you know I set up my campaigns to run default United States and turn on all the search engines and I'm getting the same results or error that you're getting so it seems like it's universal
Below are my set up however I have used Australia has the place just to set up a dummy campaign in order to see if it makes a difference.
Just so you know in the future if you ever have an issue with you on text here you can go to
Create a ticket and let them know what the issues are. For instance I am referencing back to this exact URL where this question originally from you. And they will definitely take action.
Thank you for bringing this to the attention of everyone at Moz
Sincerely,
Thomas
Just so you know this is all I had to do to report the problem and this is what I wrote.
"
Hi Guy's,
I have been alerted by a gentleman Lee (referenced in the URL below) that there are issues with the keyword difficulty tool when ever a query is search the Bing volume comes up with no response regardless of the search engine selected even if it is Google's search or even yahoo.
Here is a reference to what I'm talking about Lee has done a very good job of circling the issue.

Respectfully,
Thomas"So you know leave the photos I have added below are not linked to the help question.
-
Hi Thomas,
No ... we only select Google - Australia for our search engines when setting up new campaigns.
Thanks
Lee. -
Hi Lee,
Thank you for pointing that out. Amazing it seems to be default zero results and Bing for whatever we choose. It is a big issue and I will bring this to the right people to fix this issue and credit you with of course finding the issue and taking the time to explain it to me.
Thanks a lot man all the best,
Thomas
-
Hi Lee,
I agree with you that is a big issue keyword exact match volumes. Just for your information from using Moz for very long time I have had mixed results with the Bing or Google volume results showing up.
I imagine that for campaigns you have selected all three search engines correct?
I will alert the folks that will deal with this here at Moz
I appreciate your patience with me and explaining exactly what was the issue. Sorry about taking so long and I appreciate you taking the time to actually circle the results and show what is the real problem.
I will report this and I sincerely appreciate it.
Respectfully,
Thomas
-
Thomas,
Look closely at your Yahoo Screenshot ... see how it has return 'Bing' volume.
-
Hi Thomas,
It is not that the Moz volumes are incorrect ... it's the fact that it is not showing me the Search Engine I selected.
Please see screenshot attached where I have circled the two key points.
1. Google Australia search engine selected.
2. Bing volume displayed ( should be Google Australia)
-
Hi Lee,
I have done the same thing for Bing and Yahoo using Moz keyword difficulty tool and bases the search in Australia
The results are below. I hope this can answer some questions for you.
I hope I have been of help sincerely,
Thomas
-
Hi Lee,
I have done a test using Moz
And posted the results below and image format as you have done.
Selecting country Australia and getting different results than I had anticipated using SEMRush linked to below I have gotten results that may be better for you to use.
http://www.semrush.com/au/info/stump+grinding?db=au
Moz results are below
I hope this instead of help to you and helps clarify intermediate issue. I would strongly suggest using http://www.semrush.com/au/
For more relevant results if you believe that the ones coming from Moz right now are not correct. Sincerely,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I am actually talking about the Moz tool.
http://pro.moz.com/tools/keyword-difficulty/
Please see the screen shot in the first post. We run a report on the keyword searching Google Australia as the engine.
However we are returned the 'Bing Keyword Volume Exact Match'
I would have expected the Google Keyword Volume Exact Match' ...
-
Moz does not always crawling your entire website depending completely on the size of the site and how long it has actually existed in the campaign. Those are two factors are what determines how much of your website is crawl by RogerBot
As far as Bing and Google being mixed up. I would check to see if it is actually possible that you are talking about the ability to rank vs volume of results.
You can do a double check by using tools such as Google ad words tool
Try

http://www.webseoanalytics.com/free/seo-tools/keyword-difficulty.php
&
https://serps.com/tools/keywords
I use http://scribecontent.com and found it to be a fantastic tool when trying to rate difficulty of keywords.
Hope this is of help sincerely,
Thomas

What I am more getting at is that we selected Google - Australia as the only engine to show volumes ...
Yet in the table the results are for Bing ... is this a bug in the website?
-
To me what happened is that this week the moz did not crawl all my web side pages missing 480 pages of a total of 2087 . It is strange to me and it neve happened before

Tracked Ranking Keywords in Campaign and Ranking Keywords in Keyword Explorer are coming up with very different results - does anybody know why?
We have a campaign set up that is tracking keywords with varying monthly volumes and the website is ranking for them. I have gone into the new Keyword Explorer Feature (looks great!) and I have tested it by putting in the root domain address mentioned above. My problem is that none of the keywords that I am tracking and ranking for are appearing in the "ranking keywords" report in Keyword Explorer. Does anybody know why this might be happening?

Is there any way to automatically filter negative keywords out of Keyword Explorer results?
I use Keyword Explorer a LOT for fleshing out new campaigns. However, the results I get frequently contain queries with words that are in my negative keyword lists. Today, I solve this with export and some Excel wizardry but keep thinking how convenient it would be if there was a way to provide a list upfront of negative keywords and get pre-scrubbed results. Does this exist? If not, how can I escalate this as a feature request? 🙂

What is a Good Keyword Organic CTR Score?
Hi Folks! You might have seen my discussion on What Is a Good Keyword Difficulty Score, and this is a continuation of the same vein. Keyword Organic CTR is probably my favorite score we developed in Keyword Explorer and Moz Pro. It looks at the SERP features that appear in a set of results (e.g. an image block, AdWords ads, a featured snippet, or knowledge graph) and then calculates, using CTRs we built off our partnership with Jumpshot's clickstream data, what percent of searchers are likely to click on the organic, web results. For example, in a search query like Nuoc Cham Ingredients, you've got a featured snippet and then a "People Also Ask" feature above the web results, and thus, Keyword Explorer is giving me an Organic CTR Score of 64. This translates directly to an estimated 64% click-through rate to the web results. Compare that to a search query like Fabric Printed Off Grain, where there's a single SERP feature - just the "People Also Ask" box, and it's between the 6th and 7th result. In this case, Keyword Explorer shows an Organic CTR Score of 94, because we estimate that those PAAs are only taking 6% of the available clicks. There are two smart ways you should be using Organic CTR Score: As a way to modify the estimated volume and estimated value of ranking in the web results for a given keyword term/phrase (KW Explorer does this for you if you use the "Lists" and sort based on Potential, which factors in all the other scores, including volume, difficulty, and organic CTR) As a way to identify SEO opportunities outside the normal, organic web results in other SERP features (e.g. in the Nuoc Cham Ingredients SERPs, there's serious opportunity to take over that featured snippet and get some great traffic) OK, so all that said, what's actually a "good" Organic CTR score? Well... If you're doing classic, 10-blue-links style SEO only, 100 is what you want. But, if you're optimizing for SERP features, and you appear in a featured snippet or the image block or top stories or any of those others, you'd probably be very happy to find that CTR was going to those non-web-results sections, and scores in the 40s or 50s would be great (so long as you appear in the right features).

Conversion tracking within Moz reports?
Hey guys, Quick question and apologies if this has been asked before, but is there an option within MOZ reporting (Pro) that allows you to focus on conversions for your clients? I'm finding rankings to be a very poor indicator of success. I'd much rather focus on conversions, and present this information to the client within my reports. Thanks

Rank Checker and Keyword Difficulty
This is the only time I have seen this but the rank checker shows a keyword ranking #2 but the keyword difficulty tool does show the url ranking anywhere on the first page. I have some ideas as to why this may be happening but I am wondering if anyone actually knows?? Keyword: motion capture url: www.organicmotion.com/motion-capture

Google Penalty Tools?
Does Anybody heard about this tool? http://fruition.net/google-penalty-checker-tool/ ? Why MOZ cannot provide the same tool with all the inner and analytic data Rogers have? Did you see a penalty tool alike? For the recent two updates, I think that there is no real "penalty" per-se. Most of the sites I checked lost position on some keywords, and gained better position on other sets of keywords. If this statement is true - We need no tool at all 😉
