Keyword Ranking Report: does the organic traffic data take into account visitors logged into Google?
-
Hi there
In Google Analytics, if a visitor to your website is logged into Google at the time of searching, the referral keyword is registered as 'unknown'.
So, I am curious as to how the traffic data for any given keyword in my campaign is calculated?
Thanks

There are some methods. If you can get somebody to log into with a law style login. Mail chimp used to have a system that works very well. If you can get them to login with Google, twitter, etc. you will get a lot of good information about what they have done this essentially lets the person logging into your site registering give up their rights of privacy and not totally but somewhat and in many cases you will be able to see those "SSL hidden keywords."
Here's more information I hope this helps you

https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OpenID

I hope this is a help to you sincerely,

The traffic data is extracted from Analytics, therefore if Google is sending you traffic with the keyword hidden/removed/not provided, Moz can't also know, therefore that traffic numbers only reflect what Analytics says.
If a visitor comes from Google but with the keyword stripped, it is still a search visitor, but not counted on any keyword, both under Moz or Analytics.
You could decrease the "not provided" hits by using SSL on on pages (to be able to count SOME of the hits from logged in or HTTPS searches) but even doing that, Google is stripping the keyword, and soon we won't know which ones are actually being searched.
The moat accurate report you can get on Keywords (search, clicks, CTR, etc) is Webmaster Tools.
Hope that helps!

How to Combine the Moz Keyword Difficulty Tool with Google Keyword Planner for LOCAL (city/town) Results
Hi there, I wish that Moz would show local (city/town) results in their Keyword Difficulty Tool. But they don't, so here's my question: I'm trying to rank for keywords "interior design" in a local geographic area in the US. When using Google KWP, I'm selecting all the towns I want to rank in, and searching against the keywords INTERIOR DESIGN. The search volume appears to be approx. 370 a month. What I'm not sure about is whether I should instead (or in addition to), be searching for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY), and leaving the geographic selection as US. What is most accurate? OR...should I search for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY) in Moz's Keyword tool? How do you guys do it?

How do you explain this in this Keyword Difficulty Report?
Hello here, I am trying to understand how my site virtualsheetmusic.com can better compete for the keyword "sheet music download" where we used to be 3rd until a few months ago, and now we are at the 5th spot. But here is my specific question: I can't find an explanation why two of our competitors are ranked before us at the 3rd and 4th spot. Please, look at the attached image (very wide) which shows the Keyword Difficulty Report for this keyword. You can also download a PDF of it here below: http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/storage/keyword-sheet-music-download.pdf We are at the 5th spot, and the two competitors highlighted in pink are the ones I am talking about: I am trying to understand why they are ranking better than us, despite our metrics look much better than theirs. In fact, if I look at the metrics in the report, I can't find an explanation to justify their outrank against us, so there must be something else that the report is missing. Any thoughts about this issue are very welcome! Thank you in advance for any help. Sincerely,

Seomoz suggetions implemented but keyword rankings dropping.
We have been with SEOMOZ for just a couple of weeks now. We impemented all the recommendations made in page analysis and crawl errors but since making changes we have started to fall in ranking for these keywords. Should we undo all his work or sit it out. Why would our rankings fall if these changes are for the better ? Thanks

Report: keyword difficulty verses SERPS ranking
Hi there, I've been using the PRO tools for a few months now, and find them great for revealing information for my clients, and planning our SEO approach. One report I've put together has been really helpful for a client, but I built it manually and it took ages. It lists, in a spreadsheet, keywords side-by-side with keyword difficulty, target URL, and SERPs result. Sorting by keyword difficulty or SERPS position has helped us to prioritise which pages to hit first. But it took a while to generate the report, and I'm wondering if anyone has a better approach, or if this kind of report can be generated automatically: http://www.cicada-online.com/app/images/documents/product-page-SEO-blank.pdf Thanks Mozzers!

Keyword ranking - authority information
How can you explain that a website (not mine) appears on 1st place in Google (on the Keyword Difficulty Tool/Ranking Analysis) but the Page Authority, Page Linking Root Domains, Domain Authority, and Root Domain Linking Root Domains are much lower than the other websites on the list. Even when running the On-Page Report Card, this website gets grade F comparing to the other (including mine) websites that get better grades. I just want to understand which criteria I'm missing that can explain why a website appears on first place when it seems it's not well optimized. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
