Dofollow OR nofollow for internal links

We recently changed our wordpress site and I have noticed that in the new theme all the internal links are set to nofollow. I understand that Google might not decide page rankings based on internal links but isn't it good practice to do a follow on internal links to highlight the relative importance of a page

Yeah, that sounds strange. I would expect footer links to, say, a template creator to be nofollow but not normal internal links. That having been said, all it would do is prevent pagerank from flowing off any given page. Your site would still be indexed and spidered but your inner pages wouldn't rank well as well unless you had some external links going to them.
If I were you I'd remove them but it's not a fatal mistake.

Hi, Having read dozens of your blogs and found them highly informative, i have to ask a question. I am kicking oout our SEO company and have taken over the SEO myself with some excellent results. Our SEO providers tell me that links from any site (irrelevent of their DA) are good, providing they are comming from a relevant source. We are in the security industry and according to MOZ, we have a DA of 52. If i can get a link to our site from another company in our industry but they have a DA of 10, is this really beneficial for me? Info i have read in Moz blogs suggest it is n ot a good idea. Guest blogging, guest blogging, guest blogging. Since I started my career as a "brand manager" I've heard the term "guest blogging" at least a million times. So I've put a fair amount of energy into it and for a long time it worked beautifully, still is in many ways. However, in the last month or two nearly every blog I have contacted about guest blogging has said that "due to an increase in guest blogging request we are now charging a fee of x" so on and so forth. Doesn't paying for links put you at great risk for being deindexed? And can't bloggers get in trouble for this as well? Do they not know, not care or think it doesn't apply to them? And if it's a sponsored post, say I send them $100 of free product and pay them $100 to do it, isn't that just hiring someone to talk about my brand? Why would google punish me for that? Anyway around it? Thank you so much! I look forward to your suggestions/advice/criticism.

Link Analysis shows no external sites linking to me?
Hi All, I hope you can help. Link Analysis shows no external sites linking to me? but I know for a fact there are. Why is this? Vary Anchor Text for your internal links?
Something I had been pondering with all the new updates and signals Google is looking at, and also considering the fact that many website's overdo internal linking and almost everyone uses exact match anchor text for it. So my question is - is it effect or counter-effective to vary your anchor text for internal links? If you think its effective, what is a reasonable proportion for exact anchor text match to varied ones.

Follow or Nofollow outbound links to resourceful, related site?
As I am going through and redeveloping a website, I am trying to add some external links to resourceful information regarding this page. Should I put a nofollow or follow attribute on these? I am only putting 1-5 links per page to associations and other organizations that would be beneficial to the visitor. I am worried about the number of outbound links causing me to get penalized. Ideas?
