We have a Wix site but I wonder if we would be better suited with square space
-
Our SEO has taken a hit in moving our website from homestead website builder to Wix this last year. 1,500 unique visitors a month to 400 on our website www.bestlifeint.com using much of the same SEO and content. I think 2 of our main issues now (site speed and SEO friendliness) would be addressed in the switch to squarespace. But I guess is it worth it? I do not think google likes the whole hash bang html5 ajax thing wix uses and our website relies heavily on good seo. Any advice? I am starting link building but it might be a waste if we switched the site and in turn changed all the page url's as wix uses ?! for it's pages. Just need some clarification ideas on getting traffic to our website, also SEO MOZ software is hard to use report card with wix. We also switched our ecommerce from homestead to shopify and this has been a good move. Shopify (our ecommerce actually gets more traffic than our website now. But the problem I feel is wix hurts our seo just by being on their platform. Seriously thinking of squarespace but feel we would have to start from scratch and just match some of the elements on current site. Any insight, ideas? Am I on the right path in my thinking? Should I just stick it out with Wix?
Thanks. -Brian

How do I combat title tag issues in Moz because of long company/site name? [Currently using Yoast SEO Plugin]
I've only just started to dip my toe into the SEO pool, so please forgive me if this is a silly question. I've been working heavily in the Moz tool and the Yoast SEO plugin to clean up the meta descriptions on our site, as there were many pages without descriptions in place (we just transferred from a different CMS to Wordpress within the last month or so). Now I'm noticing on our Site Crawl that we have 60+ pages that have title elements that are considered too long. When I go in to fix these issues on our blog posts (as this is where most of the issues lie), Yoast is already giving me the green light on the title lengths. I've discovered that the reason why Moz is telling us that many of our site lengths are too long is because "| Parker Staffing Services" is added to the end of our title tags automatically. Deep breath Now that you've heard all of the backstory... Is there a way that I can prevent that site title (which is 26 characters all by itself! Talk about limiting!) from displaying on search engines when our blog posts or pages show up in search results? I've poked around in the Titles & Metas settings that come with Yoast, but I fear making too many changes will result in me screwing something up. Help an SEO beginner out? 🙂

Is your live site supposed to have rel canonical tags?
I recently started working for a company and got them to use Moz and I have found that our secure site and our live sites are creating "duplicate content" according to the Crawl Diagnostics feature. On our secure site we have rel canonical tags pointing to our live site. I'm not super familiar with rel canonical tags, but our developer says we're doing the right thing. Would love any insight you guys may have if this is actually duplicate content or not. Thanks so much!

Open Site Explorer vs Webmaster Tools
Hi there. OSE is showing 53 linking domains and WMT is showing 161.

Why are so many missing from OSE. They are all links of a decent age. Thanks0 -
To Many Links on site
I've had an issue with to many links on the site. My drop down menu, secondary footer and footer. The report told me that I had 253 links on each page. I then programmed my secondary footer to dynamic and ran a crawl and my links reduced accordingly to 201. Then turned the footer into dynamic and ran a crawl with my links increasing to 1500. This also happened between each phase but en went away. Oddly enough, my domain authority increased as well as other factors in the crawl report. This too many links thing is driving me crazy. Please provide some guidance.

Open Site Explorer Not Working on 99% of Sites
I'm trying to use Open Site Explorer, but whenever I try to I get the error message "Ouch! It Looks Like Something Went South". Interestingly, I don't have this problem when entering a very popular site like google.com, yahoo.com, bbc.co.uk. Is there a problem with the tool at the moment, or something wrong on my end?

20000 site errors and 10000 pages crawled.
I have recently built an e-commerce website for the company I work at. Its built on opencart. Say for example we have a chair for sale. The url will be: www.domain.com/best-offers/cool-chair Thats fine, seomoz is crawling them all fine and reporting any errors under them url great. On each product listing we have several options and zoom options (allows the user to zoom in to the image to get a more detailed look). When a different zoom type is selected it adds on to the url, so for example: www.domain.com/best-offers/cool-chair?zoom=1 and there are 3 different zoom types. So effectively its taking for urls as different when in fact they are all one url. and Seomoz has interpreted it this way, and crawled 10000 pages(it thinks exist because of this) and thrown up 20000 errors. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Is there any alternatives to Yahoo Site Explorer?
Hi, Is there any alternatives to Yahoo Site Explorer? I want to find backlinks of some unavailable pages and YSE was a great tool to deal with. But when I used tools like Open Site Explorer, ahrefs.com etc., I couldn't find one same like YSE. Because when I tried, it shows'No data available for this URL' where on YSE I found inbound links. What Alternatives Are There? thanks in advance!
