How to Identify Which Penalty : Penguin, Panda or Other?

I'm in the process of putting together a plan to recover from Algorithmic penalty. I'm not sure if I have to focus my recovery effort based on Penguin, Panda or Other algorithm penalty.
After looking at the attached screenshot : Google Analytics Data vs Google Algorithm update timeline, I'm not sure if the blog is affected due to Penguin or Panda.
I have following questions
- Traffic drop is because of Pengin, Panda or Other penalty? (there is no manual penalty message)
- Where should I focus my time with recovery efforts? (link removal, contents, link building, etc).
- Any other comments or suggestions?

I got a new link from this site in footer 2 days back. There are about 20 pages in that site. I have an option to request the same link in this single page.
Should I request from single page? Thanks.

One of them have removed it and trying to get other removed as well. Google Webmaster listed like 2500 links pointing to home page from those 2 domains.
I agree, these links could be a problem.
Also, I'm trying to get the link removed from sites that scrapped contents, but those sites don't have any contact info to reach a real person.
Getting rid of these links can be next to impossible. I don't think that they are as bad as a site-wide footer link.

Link Build Efforts: I didn't put any effort to build links.No guest blog posts or any other dedicated campaign for building links. 99% of the link came in naturally.
There were 2 sitewide footer link from PR 5 sites. Only effort I put to get the links (not paid). One of them have removed it and trying to get other removed as well. Google Webmaster listed like 2500 links pointing to home page from those 2 domains.
Also, I'm trying to get the link removed from sites that scrapped contents, but those sites don't have any contact info to reach a real person.
Abut 3500 pages are indexed. About 2000 receive SERP traffic. Bounce rate of the site is 55%.

EGOL said it best. Nobody could possibly tell you this based on the limited information provided.
Sharing your domain and other details (link building schemes/efforts, what you do to market, etc) would help us get closer to helping you. But EGOL's resource is awesome and he's absolutely right. Take the quiz, be honest, discover where you went wrong. If it's not manual, this can still be resolved. If it's that bad, expect a manual penalty to come next.

Slowly recovering from algorithm penalty
Hi , over the years a website we took over was hit by an algorithm penalty (a combination of penguin and panda). We managed to bring rankings back (after 6 months) from page 5/6 to page 2 after we used the google disavow tool. now for the past 9 months we have been stuck on page 2.. is there anything you think can be done to bring it back to page 1? we are building quality links now and moved away from low quality links other link builders were making. We are managing the process much closer and ensuring we maintain good standards of links. also making the pages flatter and merging short page content to larger content pages now we are looking at site structure and creating structured internal link flow is there anything we should be aware of and any recommendations to get back on page 1.. this is a tailor-made travel related website with a small selection of destinations

Can panda penalize News publisher sites?
Hey Guys,I was wondering how Panda behaves with news publisher sites.A site with +-1M visits a day that publishes +-300 news articles a day and the life of each article is one week top, given the nature of a news articles -->only relevant now.After one week the the news articles have virtually no page views. This results on a site with thousands of quality content pages that has no page views for years.Is it possible that the site gets penalized by panda for having thousands of pages with no visits?

Duplicate Page Title & Content Penalty On Website Tonight Platform
I built my primary website on Website Tonight (WT) five years ago when I was a net newbie and I'm presently new to seomoz. The initial crawl indicated a problem with duplicate page title and duplicate content with my website home page in WT. It turns out that the WT platform makes you assign a file name to your homepage i.e: www.business.com/homepage.html that differs from the www.business.com that you want as your homepage url. Apparently the search engines are recognizing these identical pages as separate and duplicate. I know that the standard answer would be to just do a 301 redirect from the long file name to the short file name - end of story. But WT does not allow you to do 301 redirects and they also do not give you the ability to go into the htaccess file to fix this yourself manually. I spoke to the folks at WT tonight and they claim that they automatically do 301 redirects on the platform. But if this true then why am I getting the error message in seomoz? Does anyone know if this is a problem? If so, does anyone here have a fix? Thanks in advance. Sincerely - Bill in Denver

Very Weird Type of Penguin Penalization
One of my client's sites has a bunch of bad links from blog networks with exact-match anchor text. Since Penguin, they have been completely removed from Google for that keyword. But here's the weird part: It's only the homepage that has been removed, and only for that keyword. If I put other keywords into Google, our homepage comes up. So the site hasn't been banned, and that page hasn't even been banned because it still comes up with all of our other keywords. It's only when you put in the keyword that has all the anchor text that the homepage doesn't come up anywhere. (I went all the way to the end). Has this happened to anyone else, and does it warrant a re-inclusion request since the site and even that page haven't technically been banned?

Anyone notices the effect of the panda update for the rest of the world?
Friday google applied the Panda Update for the rest of the world, I checked my rankings and nothing seemed to have changed , does anybody notice any of the effects already? Is it to soon to draw any conclusions after 2 days?

We have been hit with the "Doorway Page" Penalty - fixed the issue - Got MSG that will still do not meet guidelines.

Description (including timeline of any changes made): We were hit with the Doorway Pages penalty on 5/26/11. We have a team of copywriters, and a fast-working dev dept., so we were able to correct what we thought the problem was, "targeting one-keyword per page" and thin content. (according to Google) Plan of action: To consolidate "like" keywords/content onto pages that were getting the most traffic and 404d the pages with the thin content and that were targeting singular keywords per page. We submitted a board approved reconsideration request on 6/8/11 and received the 2nd message (below) on 6/16/11. ***NOTE:The site was originally designed by the OLD marketing team who was let go, and we are the NEW team trying to clean up their mess. We are now resorting to going through Google's general guidelines page. Help would be appreciated. Below is the message we received back.
