Dofollow VS noFollow

HI
What do you think about nofollow links, are they still give rank for domains.

I did a test last month on google.fr with the keyword "cuisine quimper" (kitchen + town name); with one dofollow link, I got the 11th rank.
Then I added 3 good nofollow links... and got rank 2. Nofollow links value is probably very low but not equal to 0.

Do you own test :). Anyway, good nofollow links can bring you direct traffic and help your linking profile to be more natural.

I suspect if URLs are being changed then they are either worried about Penguin or have fallen foul of it. Either way those sites are probably not the best type of links to be hunting out and changing to no-follow has probably done you a favour in the long run.
-
yes, a know but many pages change links from do-follow to no-follow, and as you said nofollow do not give link value.
Things is it becoming very hard to get good links with dofollow.
-
I suppose you could argue that no-follow links are more important than do-follow. A thinly veiled bought link not set to no-follow can cause more problems to a domain as opposed to the good ten good do-follow links can do.
But no-follow links do not pass any link value.
Also bear in mind that for a natural looking link profile you will want a mixture of both.

Nofollow backlinks - are they worth it?
As we all attempt to get backlinks for the sites we manage, I have to wonder if it's worth it at all to get a nofollow backlink. Does Google give and positive credit for a link to a site if it is a nofollow link? Obviously, the follow links are worth pursuing. I'm just trying to gain some perspective. Thanks, Wick

Subdomain with higher domain authority vs. ccTLD with lower domain authority
Our website is active in many countries and we are considering if it is worth it to switch from ccTLD to subdomains. The reason is that our company.com domain has a domain authority of 65 and some of the ccTLD's like company.fr and company.de etc have a domain authority of 30. From what I have read, moving these to a subdomain structure like fr.company.com and de.company.com will give them all the same domain authority (of 65 vs 30) which is considerably higher. 1. Would a subdomain with domain authority 65 rank better than a ccTLD with authority 30 (considering all else is the same)? 2. When we 301 redirect all ccTLD's to the subdomains, will our domain authority increase (to more than 65) for company.com, given that it can benefit from all redirected links to our ccTLD's? Thanks in advance!

Google indexing nofollow links
Hi Guys I have yellowpages.com.au appearing in the link profiles for some of my clients, but not in others (even if clients without the link in their profile have had an actual link on yellowpages.com.au longer than some who do have it in their profile). My understanding is that Google MAY eventually index a nofollow link... My question is what would cause Google to actually index it?

PHP Redirection better than Nofollow?
Hello, if I have affiliate outbound links in my blogs, what's better in terms of SEO, to use PHP Redirection or Nofollow for those links? For example, instead of using nofollow for the outbound affiliate links, I can use some plugin for WordPress that does this: mydomain.com/affiliatesitename1 -> redirects to the affiliate link1. mydomain.com/affiliatesitename2 -> redirects to the affiliate link2. mydomain.com/affiliatesitename3 -> redirects to the affiliate link3. Is this better? Thanks.

Why is Business.com a valuable link when they are all nofollow?
Earlier today, I received a $50 off coupon for a Business.com listing. Back when I was really learning about directories, lots of people recommended getting one of these listings because editors actually review it to make sure the website linked is of good quality. Even the SEOmoz Directory Guide regards it as a good link. Now, it seems like every outbound link from Business.com has a 'nofollow' tag right when they link to the target website. Furthermore, the actual business listing doesn't even link to the website! Let me take, for example, web design companies: http://www.business.com/internet/web-design/ This directory has tons of 'nofollow' links. On top of that, if you take any of the companies listed and do a search for their business page, the business page doesn't even have a link to their website! That doesn't exactly seem like it's worth $300 a year... Any chance there is something I'm missing here? I'm not fully understanding this, it seems.

Do you get linkjuice from a dofollow redirect (Like Yahoo! Article links)?
I've recently hired a company that publishes my press releases for me. One of them is on Yahoo! Finance. When I went to the Yahoo article, my keyword link was dofollow, but had a very long Yahoo redirect link instead of just a direct link to my page. Am I still getting link juice out of this Yahoo redirect?

Iframes vs links
Obviously, websites can link to another web site using iframes, and Google and other search engines do seem to have some capability to index the content. What I want to know is what is the difference in value passed between a regular link and an iframe link. <iframe src="http://www.targetwebsite.com/targetlink"><br /><br />will have the same page ranking effect on the target web site as this link: <br /><br /><a href="http://www.targetwebsite.com/targetlink">link</a><br /><br />Alternative, would it work to include an invisible actual link right before the iframe, like this: <br /><br /><a style="display: none;" href="http://www.targetwebsite.com/targetlink">link</a><br /><iframe src="http://www.targetwebsite.com/targetlink"/></p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">The reason is that we are building a product recommendation engine, for a branded cosmetology school in order to get our concept salons to link back to use and I was curious if creating a version they can use as an iframe will give us link benefit.</span></p></iframe>
