What would cause all main pages to go from various PR1 PR2 PR3 to PR Unranked?
-
Weird, my rankings have fallen on one of my sites and all the main pages that were ranking are now PR unranked.
We did ad some domains to a disavow file, but nothing major that should have had an impact like this. Pages are all allowed to be indexed and not blocked and are currently indexed in Google.
Can Google just come around and decide they don't like these pages anymore and PR unrank them all?

I'd second Erwan's questions - did other signals confirm the Toolbar PR update? Have you lost ranking, search traffic, etc.
Not only is TBPR notoriously unreliable, but this could reflect something that happened 3-6+ months ago, and maybe it's reversed by now. It's very, very hard to pin down a timeline from TBPR, and if you were penalized, a timeline is critical.

I've seen this as well with sites buying or selling links. Â Also, keep in mind that the Google toolbar PR and a site's real PageRank (authority) are two different things. Â I've seen Google mess with people's toolbar PR before without actually penalizing them (manually or by algorithm), especially when dealing with paid links.
Without more info, it's hard to identify what the real problem is.

Hi,
I saw the same result for a webmaster that accepted paid links from a casino/poker room on his homepage. I don't know the other possible reasons. Hope community can help :).
I have question : did you lose ranks on your keywords ater the PR loss ?
Erwan.

There's probably more to it than them not liking your pages You say you've uploaded a disavow file, did you get an unnatural link warning? Has your homepage lost PR as well? Might be worth sharing your URL so we can have a better look at what is going on.

www.mydomain.com/Default.asp  - Page Authority 33
www.mydomain.com/default.asp  - Page Authority = 33 So here is the question, is it normal to have different page Authorities for each version? Is this diluting my SEO for the homepage? Any input on this would be appreciated.0 -

Category Page Outranks Homepage
I have an online party store and when I search for broad industry terms: (party supplies &Â party decorations) I notice that one of my category pages outranks the homepage. Â The homepage's Page Authority is better and more external links pointing to the homepage. Â Is there s technical SEO problem? Â Why would a category page outrank the homepage?

What would cause the wrong category page to come up?
I am trying to figure out why the wrong thing is coming up in the serps. For example, we are trying to rank for used widgets. But when you type in used widgets in google the primary widget page doesn't come up, one of the secondary categories under used widgets comes up. What would cause this? What are things I should check?

2 pages optimised for same keyword... what should I do?
Hi, I have two pages appearing in positions 11 and 12 for the keyword:Â 80 btl mortgage. These are: https://www.commercialtrust.co.uk/btl/landlord-advice/mortgages/btl-mortgage-80-ltv/ https://www.commercialtrust.co.uk/btl/product-types/80-buy-to-let-mortgages/ Both pages are good, provide useful information and I would not wish to remove one of them. However, I am concerned that the reason neither one of the pages is on page 1 is because the keywords targeted on both pages is essentially the same. Should I reoptimise one of them for other variations of 80 BTL mortgage keywords? (e.g. 80% LTV Buy to Let Mortgage, 80 Buy to Let Mortgage, etc etc) Or, is there another solution I haven't yet thought of? I welcome your insights! Thanks! Amelia

On-page optimization - Am I doing it well?
Hi Mozzers, I'm sitting here going through our site and optimizing all of our content.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Travis-W
For the most part we've just written without correct keyword research, so the content lacks focus. Here is a page I would consider finished -Â http://www.consumerbase.com/international-mailing-lists.html I have our KWs in the: URL Title Tag Meta Description Bolded in Content Image Alt Attribute. If I optimize my other pages like this, will I be good?
It feels a tiny bit stuffed to me, but SEOmoz's on-page tool gives me glowing numbers. Thanks!0 -
Main page - catogory and sub-catogories
This is a complex one for me but here goes. my site sales personalized widgets and this is the main keyword. other keyword that convert are gold personalized widgets silver personalized widgets brass personalized widgets and many others. all those keywords are categories including the main keyword. (each category is a page on my site optimized for that category) (If you did not guess already I sale jewelry. I assume that having the keyword included in links pointing to intenal category pages dilute the importance of this keyword on the main page? there are few options I consider. for testing have the gold, silver and others to include canonical to the main page just to test the affect on the main keyword. Not pointing from the main page to those sub-category pages - it feels wrong to me just canonize the main keyword category page to point to the main page Would love o hear what are our thoughts
