Rich snippets showing on some pages but not others
-
Hi,
I have rich snippet mark up showing in serps for some pages but not others. All pages test fine using Googles structured data testing tool. Whats really annoying is that they seem to appear for some pages but not others within the same directory / page format.
None of googles troubleshooting suggestions on the issue are a problem i.e.
- Does your markup follow our usage guidelines?
- Is your marked-up content hidden from users?
- Is your markup incorrect or misleading?
- Is your marked-up content representative of the main content of the page?
- Have you supplied enough information?
- Have you only recently updated your content?
- Does your markup include incorrect nesting?
- Reviews: Does your review use
count
instead ofvote
?
There are alot of instances when the same mark up is used twice e.g. on product x page in one directory and on product x page in a different directory (theres no dupe content). I wondered if that could be a reason but there are alot of instances when product x in directory a has the snippet when it doesnt in directory b. There doesnt seem to be an identifiable pattern as to why one page whould show the snippet and not another.
Any feedback appreciated. Happy to pm example pages.

What you're seeing isn't unusual. In fact, I've seen a single page show rich snippets when it's returned as a result from one query, and no rich snippets for the same page shown in the results for a different query. Google appears to be doing some analysis of the query itself (and maybe the match between the query and the particular result?) to determine whether rich snippets are helpful or not.
Similarly, you'll probably find that your own Google+ authored pages show without the authorship info (photo, name, # of circles, etc.) if you're logged in to Google, but WITH the authorship info if you're logged out, or logged in as a different user.

Will google be able to crawl all of the pages given that the pages displayed or the info on a page varies according to the city of a user?
So the website I am working for asks for a location before displaying the product pages. There are two cities with multiple warehouses. Based on the users' location, the product pages available in the warehouse serving only in that area are shown. If the user skips location, default warehouse-related product pages are shown. The APIs are all location-based.

Google webcache of product page redirects back to product page
Hi all– I've legitimately never seen this before, in any circumstance. I just went to check the google webcache of a product page on our site (was just grabbing the last indexation date) and was immediately redirected away from google's cached version BACK to the site's standard product page. I ran a status check on the product page itself and it was 200, then ran a status check on the webcache version and sure enough, it registered as redirected. It looks like this is happening for ALL indexed product pages across the site (several thousand), and though organic traffic has not been affected it is starting to worry me a little bit. Has anyone ever encountered this situation before? Why would a google webcache possibly have any reason to redirect? Is there anything to be done on our side? Thanks as always for the help and opinions, y'all!

Content: NEW CONTENT! Page B

Content: ContentPageA (The content that was in Page A!) Content of the two pages will be about the same argument (& same keyword) but non-duplicate. The new content in page A is more optimized for search engines. How long will it take for the page to rank better?0 -
Multiple pages optimised for the same keywords but pages are functionally different and visually different
Hi MOZ community! We're wondering what the implications would be on organic ranking by having 2 pages, which have quite different functionality were optimised for the same keywords. So, for example, one of the pages in question is
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | TrueluxGroup
https://www.whichledlight.com/categories/led-spotlights
and the other page is
https://www.whichledlight.com/t/led-spotlights both of these pages are basically geared towards the keyword led spotlights the first link essentially shows the options for led spotlights, the different kind of fittings available, and the second link is a product search / results page for all products that are spotlights. We're wondering what the implications of this could be, as we are currently looking to improve the ranking for the site particularly for this keyword. Is this even safe to do? Especially since we're at the bottom of the hill of climbing the ranking ladder of this keyword. Give us a shout if you want any more detail on this to answer more easily 🙂0 -
Links on page
Hi I have a web page which lists about 50-60 products which links out to either a pdf on the product or the main manufacturers website page containing product detail. The site in non e-commerce is this the site/page likely to get hit by Penguin? Would it be best to create a separate page for the product/manufacturer group i.e 5 or 6 pages but linking out to the PDFs etc...?

Breadcrumbs showing up in every snippet in search
Ok I created breadcrumbs on my site long ago. They popup every time which what i'm concerned about. I wanted them to pop up for searches that lead to my homepage, but the breadcrumbs pop up for every product and every page on my site. My question is does this hurt searches for the link part of it. As you know search engines check title link and descriptions. Will my link not be counted in or is the breadcrumb purely cosmetic. Just want to know if i'm limiting my rank. Here's a product that should show its own breadcrumb type "Bia Brazil BT3341 BKS-Sexy" in google to see example. I should be number one under ads My code that creates breadcrumbs is as follows: Tops Shorts Best Fit By Brazil Capris Bia Brazil Sexy Leggings Sexy Workout Clothes 15% OFF I REMOVED CODE FROM WEBSITE FOR NOW UNTIL I FIGURE OUT. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE ANSWERS BEFORE search results change thx.

Does an H1 have to be at the top of a page?
Because H1 "may" carry some weight with Google does it have to be placed at the top of the page? Can I place it towards the bottom of the page instead in normal body size? My goal is to keep the main keywords in the H1 but create a much friendlier title for the customer to read at the top of the page.

How long does google take to show the results in SERP once the pages are indexed ?
Hi...I am a newbie & trying to optimize the website www.peprismine.com. I have 3 questions - A little background about this : Initially, close to 150 pages were indexed by google. However, we decided to remove close to 100 URLs (as they were quite similar). After the changes, we submitted the NEW sitemap (with close to 50 pages) & google has indexed those URLs in sitemap. 1. My pages were indexed by google few days back. How long does google take to display the URL in SERP once the pages get indexed ? 2. Does google give more preference to websites with more number of pages than those with lesser number of pages to display results in SERP (I have just 50 pages). Does the NUMBER of pages really matter ? 3. Does removal / change of URLs have any negative effect on ranking ? (Many of these URLs were not shown on the 1st page) An answer from SEO experts will be highly appreciated. Thnx !
