Getting listed in the Google local result - help!

Good day,
I'm really struggling to get a client to appear in the Google Local map snapshot (on the right of the SERPs), even when their company name is Googled. I've tried everything including getting the main Google Local account verified, had some reviews put up, all the required and relevant info has been completed, yet their location and the map never appear.
Any help out there as to how I can remedy this?

Be forewarned, you stop paying Yext, and all of those changes and accuracies made sure of, are kaput.
Do this math: Do what yext does, manually yourself or outsourced, ONCE, AND CORRECTLY. and you are pretty much set for life. else, you pay $300 a year to Yext and in return, they give you a whole lot of free listings and a few unique and paid ones, the value of which is really not that much more than the free listings you can manually create on a good 95% of yext partners. Also, there are a lot more legit local directory sites to use on top of what yext has to offer which will be missed if one pressed the button, pays, and forgets. just my 2 cents on Yext.

Also, does your client happen to have a real actual physical location they operate out of, or are they out of some virtual office / ups store type address. Because Google has gotten somewhat smart with this stuff lately and also your competition can flag you and report you for violation of terms of Google service.
We have seen perfectly performing business on the graph, suddenly disappear due to very likely this very reason.
if you see "We currently do not support the location" in your dashboard, this is the case.

Hi Martin,
Unfortunately, this is one of those questions which cannot be answered without knowing the full history and details of your specific client. Contributing factors could range from something as simple as the age of the account, to something as complicated as a penalty. Without being able to actually investigate the client's unique details, it's impossible to suggest causes or solutions.
If you can provide further details, I'd be happy to take a look at them. If you can't do that, for understandable reasons of client confidentiality, you would be best off hiring a high level Local SEO to audit the situation.
In the meantime, you want to be sure that the client's listing is fully compliant with the Google Places Quality Guidelines and that all appropriate efforts are being made to excel at the top Local Search Ranking Factors.

I believe Yext Powerlistings helped us tremendously by synching our contact info and website with dozens of Yelp type sites. It's like $300 a year though.

This is a tricky one and don't have an exact answer for you.
In my opinion, G+ plays a part in triggering the knowledge graph to display when searching for the brand name, but more importantly it needs to be an established and known brand first.
I wont go into details on how to "build a brand" but the jest is to make sure your back links are primarily (or a good percentage of them are) branded terms (this as well as many other factors)
Once Google recognizes your site as a brand, the knowledge graph should appear with all the info Google knows about it (Google + info etc)

Top resulting sites sites for a specific keyword
I'm teaching myself SEO so that I can speak more intelligently to it with my clients. I've spent a great deal of time on seomoz and love it. The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know and that brings me to my current question. I can search on a keyword and see results, however I see every URL available. I'm looking for a simple way to see the root domains for the top 100-500 resulting websites for a specific keyword. Is there an easy way to get this information I'm sure it's right in front of me, but I can't find it. Many thanks, ahossom

How Does Google Treat External Links to URLs with # Anchors?
Here are two URLs to explain this example: **Original URL: **example.com/1/ **URL that points to anchor within the webpage above: **example.com/1/#anchor Does Google treat these two URLs as separate entities or the same? For example, does an external link to the anchor URL pass full PageRank value to the original URL? How does Google handle this? Is there anything negative about this situation? Are there any risks associated with links to the anchor URL? Finally, is it more valuable for an external link to point to the URL without an anchor?

Google dance/over optimized/paranoid?
Hi guys, hope your all OK and thanks in advance for taking a nosey at this. OK where to start - my rankings for the last 12 months have progressively improved every week, usually of the 300 KWs i track the last few months has seen approx 70 up/70down per week, but the improvements usually outweigh the declines. This week I saw a sudden drop though - 35 improvements and 112 declines. The strange thing was though, the improvements came on the more competitive KWs, and the less competitive words I haven't done much or any back linking for dropped. Seems silly me asking this question when I run that through my head ofcouse KWs you don;t work on will drop like flies? It should be plainly obvious those words would drop off but all have been improving on there own slowly over the last 6/7 months. Now if this was a penalty (nothing showing in webmaster tools) I would have expected it to come through on my KWs I have over done the backlinking for, but these are the 1's that improved. So is it just the Google Dance? I normally see some words such as the big 1 we target DJ Equipment go from position 13 - 24 can change hourly sometimes! Could it just be quite a few have dropped all at once and will pop back up this week? Also if anyone could give us any pointers in general on where you think we should be taking our SEO it would be much appreciated. I know we have been a little lazy with our backlinking and could do with some much better/ industry related websites linking to us, and there are title tags/metas on product page that need sorting.. aside these couple of issue's? Google Page Rank?
We have had a quality website for 12 years now, and it seems no matter how many more links we get and how much new content we add daily, we have stayed at PR3 for the past 10 years or so. Our SEOMoz domain authority is 52. We have over 950,000 pages linking to us from 829 unique root domains. Is this in line with PR3 or should we be approaching PR4 soon? We do daily blog posts with all unique, fresh quality content that has not been published elsewhere. We try to do everything with 'white hat' methods, and we are constantly trying to provide genuine content and high quality products, and customer service. How can we improve our PR and how important is PR today?
