Why do I have so many nofollow links? I have never created one!
-
www.sylvaniachurch.com shows over 14,000 nofollow links, but I have never deliberately created a nofollow link. How, then, did I collect so many?
-
Look in OSE: Showing only _rel=nofollow _links from external pages to pages on this root domain:
It shows only 17 no-follow external links to pages on your site.
-
Without digging into it too deep, it's because _that number is all links. _
It is pulling links from within your own site.
Looking at OSE, you have 464 total external links and 30,837 total (including the links on your own site).
It looks like you have social buttons which are sitewide and likely to be nofollowed. I counted at least eight nofollows on your homepage alone. This is the culprit, or at least a good contributor!
Hope that helps!

Automatic links from other domains when we create a new landing page - Is this a spammy technique?
Hi everyone, Recently we've discovered 2-3 sites (which we own the domains names) and these sites seem to automatically create links to our new landing pages on our main site. Those sites also can't be accessed in your browser as it redirects straight to our main website. So, for example, we create a new landing page on our main site, and then Moz has been picking up links to this page from these other domains with text such as "Book now". I think historically someone in the company set up loads of sites with redirects and there must be something automatically happening. Is this likely to be a spammy technique? Ie we seem to be getting "follow" links from other domains every time we create a new page." Also as this could be quite a negative thing we've discovered I can't really give our out business links, but really appreciate your tips and advice. I'm trying to work out what to do if this is a spammy technique and also affecting our trust scores etc and what we should do about it. Thanks for your help and input. 🙂Mike

People Promising mass link building in one day and some other unrealistic things, Is it possible? Expert Advice Required
Hi Experts!! "Newbie Question", excuse me if it is something silly There are some experts on the internet(other than here) who are making big promises, about link building, thousands of back links in few days. They have executed thousands of orders and have excellent feedback. Back to the basics, SEO books say we shall build back links at slow and natural pace. I want to know whether such mass link building is possible in white hat SEO world? If yes, are they beneficial for SEO? Typical offers Service 1 Time taken 6 days "I will blast an eminent SEO backlink pyramid (EBP) with 5000 Profiles. consisting of 300 Site about site/domain PR 4+ among which there're varied from 10 to 20 edu / gov (edu.xx gov.xx) profiles randomly in tier 1 and then 4700 profiles built to 300 high PR sites above-mentioned as tier 2, 300+4700=5000 .(its 2 layers backlinks, We will send 300 to your url then we will send 4700 to the 300 links that link to your url , 4700=>300=> url ) .they are from world wide different / unique domains, about 80% of Tier1 are dofollow and publicly viewable." Service 2 7 days _ "I will build a 6 site linkwheel for you (PR3-8 Root Domain), & then ping all the web 2.0 sites. After it i'll create a total of 3000 backlinks to the 6 sites"_ Service 3 I will give you 10 (temporally 30!) powerful links from some of the biggest PR7 - 10 sites on the planet like: Microsoft Apple IBM Adobe Amazon etc Answer requested , so that I can follow the right track. Internal Links - First Link Rule Confusion
Hello All - I would like to create a guide for my team of rules for internal links and I could use some help. My understanding is that Google only counts the first link to a page, so any crafted keyword text links within the content do not count if the page in question is linked to from the main navigation. Is this correct? For example, if the menu or drop down menu in main site nav (which exists on all pages of the site) includes a link to a particular section that will be the only one that ever counts since the menu is on every page? Example: let's say a website selling cat toys includes a drop down menu on the homepage with links to "holiday cat toys". Does this mean that no other text links in content on the site will support that page from an SEO perspective since the link is in the main nav and will always be the first one counted? In the past we have added text links in the content on the homepage to important pages on the site. It seems to work, though now I'm questing these tactics based on the first link rule. I would appreciate some advice, clarification, thoughts, etc. Thanks!

Thoughts on creating a resource/recommend links page in order to attain links?
Hey guys, Just wondering, how does Google view reciprocal link building nowadays? I've heard in the past that it's something that Google isn't particularly keen on. However, more recently, I've also read that - as long as the links are decent (and in moderation) - link exchanging is by no means a bad thing. The reason I ask is that I'm thinking of creating a "resource/recommended links page" for a client of mine. Because of their industry, it's really apparent that attaining links is often only possible if there is the opportunity of a reciprocal link in return. Therefore, I'd need to have a resource/recommend links page of my own. Is this something I should go ahead with to make it much easier to attain links? Or should I try to avoid reciprocal links and attempt to pinpoint one-way linking opportunities - even if they're thin on the ground? Any help much as appreciated as always. Cheers.

Can a reciprocal link turn into a one way if you no-follow?
If you create a list of links to top blogs in your industry but no-follow all the links, and they link to your list, will that count as a reciprical link or a one-way link by search engines?
