Google still showing sitelinks from old website

Hi guys, we relaunched our website www.segafredo.com.au a few weeks ago, however google is still showing site links from our old page that no longer exist...
Is there anything we can do about this? Sit back and wait or try demoting the old urls in webmaster tools?

Once you do the 301's, the sitelinks will resolve to your site even if nothing else changes. Most likely, over a small amount of time, the sitelinks will change a bit given the new site.

Hi guys thanks for your help, i've made a list and forwarded it to our Italian friends...let the waiting commence!
Do you think this will make a change in site links (the once shown under your index results)? And are there any other ways of influencing the links that show up?

GET ALL OF YOUR OLD URL ADDRESS with mentioned methods, via backlinks, and via existing flawed google sitelinks, get as many of them as you can. then 301 them to appropriate new equivalent pages on the new site.
and do not forget to submit a sitemap after you are set and done with all of above.

If not every yes, you can find most. Assuming the old site had nothing to do with their .com or .com.eu, etc.:
Can you get them to give you the access to the FTP? You can get most of the urls if not all from there.
Or,
You need to immediately go to archive.org, the wayback machine. You will see it on the page. I have attached a screenshot of one. I went to the homepage first as that is what Archive.org will serve up. I arbitrarily chose May to insure I was prior to relaunch. You should take the one that is most recent prior to relaunch.
Understand, I would prefer the FTP, but this could work too.

Hi Robert, the website was hosted there. We only had/have access to the domain itself of which the name servers have been changed to connect the new site.
I think getting access to the old site on the Italian host is going to be the hardest part (they don't like us accessing it for some reason)
Is there a way i can find every url that needs to be redirected so i can send this link to them in order to get the redirections we need?

Just so you know. It has to be there given the old url is showing. So the site was hosted there and now you are hosting it, correct?
I have to believe you can get it all. If not LMK, and I will try and assist.

Thanks for your response Robert. Unfortunately the old site was hosted and managed by Segafredo Italy. We never had access to it. I think i will pull out my best Italian and call them. Starting from scratch would not be ideal...

It appears you did not 301 your urls from the old site to the new when you were in Development. Now, you literally have the same url twice. I followed the sitelink for Coffee by Segafredo and landed on Segafredo.com.au/coffee/ see screenshot with Segafredo from sitelink. Then, in a new window, I went to the domain link you provided and added /coffee/ and got the second image.
When you design a new site you need to insure you take care of the url's from the previous so as to maintain the link juice from each. I believe the one with the beans actually has a PA of 36. the new one has a PA of 1. You need this link juice or you will lose all your rankings. EDIT TO ADD EMPHASIS - Do not wait, you need to act now.
You are using IIS and you need to follow the how to's for 301's on an IIS server. You can still fix this. Where is the other site hosted? Do you still have it, the FTP files, etc.?
Let me know and I will give you some direction.

Which parts of this and how is this data best shared in such a case? Here my question is should we do 301 redirection from www.test.com to my domain www.test1.com, and if we do that what we will be the impact of seo on www.test1.com. Kindly elaborate.

Spanish equivalent of MOZ? need help with understanding Google.es
I try to keep up to date with everything SEO to ensure my sites rank well.. marblerenovation.com & Trailersafe.co.uk I now have a spanish site that I am having trouble ranking well for clima2000egara.es I have recently found out (by asking our lovely moz community) that googles algorithms are not rolled our world wide. SO I have no idea where I am at with Google.es. Does anyone know how I can find out at what stage google.es is at? and what the last update was? and whether there is an equilalent community like Moz for Spain? Did Google Search Just Get Crazy Local?
Hey All, I think it's a known fact at this point that when signed into a personal Google account while doing a search, the results are very oriented around keywords and phrases you have already searched for, as well as your account's perceived location; for instance when I wanted to check one of my own web properties in SE listings I would sign out or it would likely appear first as a false reading. Today I noticed something very interesting: even when not signed in, Google's listings were giving precedence to locality. It was to a very extreme degree, as in when searching for "web design," a firm a mile away ranked higher than one 1.5 miles away and such. It would seem that the algos having this high a level of location sensitivity and preference would actually be a boon for the little guys, which is, I assume why it was implemented. However, it brings up a couple of interesting questions for me. 1. How is this going to affect Moz (or any SE ranking platform, for that matter) reports? I assume that Google pulls locations from IP Addresses, therefore would it not simply pull the local results most relevant for the Moz server(s) IP? 2. What can one do to rise above this aggressive level of location based search? I mean, my site (which has a DA of 37 and a PA of 48) appears above sites like webdesign.org (DA of 82, PA of 85). Not that I'm complaining at the moment, but I could see this being a fairly big deal for larger firms looking to rank on a national level. What gives? I'd love to get some opinions from the community here if anyone else has noticed this...

Google Penguin 2.0 - How To Recover?

Last year, we have engaged a SEO company who promised to bring us to the first page on Google. But after 4 months, we actually found out that he might be using doing non quality mass link building tactic and this caused our ranking for all 3 sites we given to him to drop in ranking overnight on 22nd May 2012 after the Google Penguin 2.0 rolled out. Is there anything we can do to recover?1 -
Anyone else know much about the Google Pirate penalty?
The Google 'Pirate' (no official name) seems to have gone largely undiscussed since it was launched last - Fri 10th August http://insidesearch.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/an-update-to-our-search-algorithms.html. The idea of it is to ensure those 'Pirating' content or abusing trademarks e.g. fake ugg boot sites and file sharing sites do not appear higher in the search results than the genuine websites. Google is using DMCA take down requests for labeling sites as Pirate and demote their rankings, Im amazed not even seomoz has covered the subject yet as far as I can see, yet it is a hugely important new update, albeit affecting a relatively small number of sites now, and in some cases (at least one I know first hand) seemingly without justification (the example I know is not a file sharing, fake goods, trademark abusive site at all.) Google updating its search algorithm based on DMCA take down requests seems a bit strong - these are takedown requests, not legal proof that a site is infringing a trademark. A real weapon for negative SEO? Anyone else had experience of the pirate update or know much more about it? Outside Danny Sullivan I dont see many SEO folk covering it. Google Directory no longer available?
Now, we will forever not know what is in the Google Directory. I just clicked on the link..... and everything is dead and points you to DMOZ. What does this mean for us? Is DMOZ going to get more editor juice, so submissions are actually reviewed for once? The Yahoo! directory has also been glitching - new submissions have been disabled for over a week now. Any comments?
