PageRank Is Zero For Some Reason
-
Now, I'm not a stickler for pagerank, and actually haven't checked the pagerank of ANY of the sites I own and operate in the last year or two, but one of my cronies noticed the other day that our BathroomGetaways.com websites pagerank is 0, despite the fact it ranks well and gets a decent amount of traffic for a great deal of the terms we target.
My guess is that we still just don't have the quality links we need, and we're working on that, but is there anything glaringly obvious that anyone else can see that can be the cause of this?
One thing to note, we did take the site offline for 2-4 months or so towards the end of last year and just relaunched it in January of 2011. It climbed right back into the rankings almost immediately after our re-launch, so maybe that has something to do with it?

That seems like a pretty sensible take by Danny. I would be looking into any site that had 0 TBPR if its been running a while and I know it has a decent link profile

I had agonised over this issue especially after reading Danny Dover's SEO Secrets book, wherein he suggested that a PR of zero on a site of any reasonable age indicated something was quite wrong, whereas a PR of 1 merely indicated a much less sinister lack of authority. We have managed to 'SEO' our site well since then and managed many page 1 positions and still have PR of 0. I tend to consider some or Danny's secrets to be tales?
-
I was leaning towards this as being the culprit. We re-launched the site towards the end of January and had completely yanked it offline for roughly 3-4 months or so. Thanks for the quick "chime in".

PageRank only updates two or three times a year and the last one was around January. If you are getting traffic and your site: query looks good, I wouldn't give it a moments thought.
-
While your page rank may be zero, your Mozrank is 46/100 which is pretty decent. It just goes to show you that the PR that can be found via the checkers are either not accurate, or do not matter as much as we may think. Especially if you are ranking highly for many of your keyword targets.
While I am not a huge fan of the design, it is extremely straightforward. Where it might be lacking is the unique content and information that would bring value to a visitor. The other SEO elements seem to be in tact in the few pages I have checked. You even have quite a few links(although much FEWER than larger competitors.)
The time off is likely the culprit for low rank as the PR is updated quarterly or less. So you may see an uptick in PR in the next round of updates.

Non-indexed or indexed top hierarchy pages get high PageRank at Google?
Hi, We are creating some pages just to capture leads from blog-posts. We created few pages at top hierarchy like website.com/new-page/. I'm just wondering if these pages will take away more PageRank. Do we need to create these pages at low hierarchy like website.com/folder/new-page to avoid passing more PageRank? Is this is how PR distributed even now and it's same for indexed or non-indexed pages? Thanks

Sub domains take away the pagerank/link juice of main website?
Hi all, I would like to know how sub domains will be collaborated with domain or main website in terms of authority, backlinks, link juice, etc...Link juice will be passed to sub domains from domain or vice versa? If there are large number of pages in sub domain, will that going to impact the ranking of main domain? Backlinks of sub domain are going to be a deciding factor for website ranking too? Thanks

Do back-links to non indexed sub-domains / sub-directories considered by Google as website backlinks and pass Pagerank to website?
Hi, If some noindexed links on our website or sub-domain got some backlinks, will that backlinks pass Pagerank / linkjuice to website? Will they be considered as backlinks to website by Google? Here is a statement from Matt cutts for the question. My question is same as below with answer? Eric Enge: Can a NoIndex page accumulate PageRank? Matt Cutts: A NoIndex page can accumulate PageRank, because the links are still followed outwards from a NoIndex page. Thanks

Reasons for change in organic traffic year-over-year
Need some help in answering the concern of my client. My client is concerned that organic visits from the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2016 are LESS than q1 & q2 of 2015. Overall there was about a 15% variance. Basically, I am trying to explain why the 2015 quarters have more organic traffic than 2016 (over the same time frame)? I have explained that to the client: There are external factors that affect SEO such an increase in competitor presence That we have been focusing on generating quality traffic to the site rather than just quantity That Google’s new SERPs layout is pushing organic rankings down Unfortunately, my client does not believe the above points to be valid, despite the fact he is still receiving the same amount of conversions, with less traffic. Why would his traffic be less in 2016? What else could cause this? Any help would be appreciated so I can help him.

Anybody else noticing some serious dung ranking well for no reason lately?
I mean, like the complete opposite of what Panda is supposed to be doing... We've just had a discussion here and each went through a bunch of examples of sites that have sprung up and are ranking with the worst, spammiest backlink profiles ever, and poor content with little to zero on-page SEO. It's not accross the board by any means, and certainly there is no obvious pattern but there were a fair few examples we just looked at (I best not provide them for ethical reasons). It just "feels" like there's something going on...
