Negative SEO to inner page: remove page or disavow links?

Someone decided to run a negative-SEO campaign, hitting one of the inner pages on my blog
I noticed the links started to pile up yesterday but I assume there will be more to come over the next few days.The targeted page is of little value to my blog, so the question is: should I remove the affected page (hoping that the links won't affect the entire site) or to submit a disavow request?
I'm not concerned about what happens to the affected page, but I want to make sure the entire site doesn't get affected as a result of the negative-SEO.

Thanks Marie. I went ahead and deleted that page and submitted a disavow request. Hopefully that will prevent any future issues.

If you're transferring the content then make sure that the old pages are out of the index before you get the new page up. Â I had a situation where I consulted with a client who was starting a new site because the old was hit severely by Penguin. Â He bought a new domain and we moved all the content to there. Â We did no 301 redirects from the old to the new and there were no links from the old to the new at all. Â Yet, a couple of weeks later, the WMT backlinks to the new content showed all of the same links as the old site! Â They all said, "Via...oldsite.com". Â It was like Google recognized a canonical here and attributed the links to the new page.
The old site was gone, but was still in the Google cache. Â We had to manually remove each old url using the url removal tool and then the problem resolved.

Thanks Chris and Marie! I was thinking of doing a 401 (page permanently moved) and transferring the content to a new page with a new url.

If this is a page that is not important to you then I'd definitely remove it. Â Removing the page is the same as removing the links in Google's eyes. Â Just be sure that you don't redirect that url to another on your site.

Howard, If the page isn't of importance to you, yes, you could just remove the page. Â You could also change the url of the page and let all of those links unresolved. Â If the links are not targeting a live page on your domain they won't have an impact on your domain.

404 Errors For Pages That Never Existed
I'm seeing a lot of 404 errors with slugs related to cryptocurrency (not my website's industry at all). We've never created pages remotely similar, but I see a lot of 404 errors with keywords like "bitcoin" and "litecoin". Any recommendations on what to do about this? Another keyword is "yelz". It usually presents like .../yelz/-ripper-vs-steller/ or .../bitcoin-vs-litecoin/. I don't really even have the time to fix all the legitimate 404 errors, let alone these mysterious requests. Any advice is appreciated.

Backlink, how to delete or find who is linking to me?

When you get a new inbound link do you submit a request to google to reindex the new page pointing at you?
I'm just starting my link building campaign in earnest, and received my first good quality inbound link less than an hour ago. My initial thought was that I should go directly to google, and ask them to reindex the page that linked to me... If I make a habit of that (getting a new link, then submitting that page directly to google), would that signify to google that this might not be a natural link building campaign? The links are from legitimate (non-paid, non-exchange) partners, which google could probably figure out, but I'm interested to know opinions on this. Thanks, -Eric

Should I Disavow?
I had a Wordpress plugin on blog rolls and had a large number of links from a couple of sites that aren't necessarily related to our own. I've removed the links, but they are still showing up in Google Analytics and Moz Open Site Explorer. Based on my research, I don't think that removing these links will hurt us, and that removing them may help boost our ranking. Should I go ahead and disavow the links? Are there any other things I need to take into consideration?

Hiding content or links in responsive design
Hi, I found a lot of information about responsive design and SEO, mostly theories no real experiment and I'd like to find a clear answer if someone tested that. Google says:Â

Are these links bad for my results?
In the past we have requested links on multiple directories. Since we have seen a mayor drop (60% in traffic) in results around the pinquin update 24-26th of April. Our results have been slowly getting lower and lower in Google. Is it possible to tell if these links are in fact doing my site harm? Before the 26th of April it was easy to see that the results where benefiting from the submission to those directories. We did not have any messages in webmaster tools and reconsideration says "no manual spam action taken". What would be the best strategy to turn this around and go up again? Reciprocal Links NoFollow
I am working on the SEO for a company that sells commercial construction materials and I am noticing that the vast majority of the older, authoritative construction related sites and directories require a reciprocal link to be linked to from their site. 1. If I create a reciprocating link, but nofollow/noindex that page, is that seen as blackhat? Will I see any benefit from this over a link passing page rank? 2. Will these reciprocating links hurt me, or are they worth the risk within a young portfolio? I am seeing well ranked sites listed such as justblinds.com, this would imply they reciprocated a link as well?
