OSE Stats - Number of Unique C IP's and PA/DA keep going up and down. Why?
-
For the past 3 months (if not more) I have been checking my sites stats on OSE and have noticed drastic decreases and increases in unique C-IP's, ranging from 600 to 1200.
I have also noticed the PA & DA going up and down by 5 points.
We have a talented team that work hard to market our business ethically with strong content and PR relationships, white-hat link building all the way, active social media and a dedicated on-site technical team.
The data from MajesticSEO seems to be a lot more steady and consistent.
Why is OSE showing drastic changes in 1 to 2 week intervals?
Many thanks
Ross

OSE crawls a different number of domains/pages with each update. It is normal to see fluctuations in all of these metrics for for links to appear/disappear in OSE reports.
OSE and Linkscape data is an extremely valuable for gauging site/page strength, as well as a healthy amount of backlinks to a given page. I do not think it is a great tool to use for benchmarking your site authority or backlink profile growth, due to the inconsistencies between their indexes (or is it indices).
If you are tracking competitors with it, you will likely see similar fluctuations in there data as well.

How long does it take to turn around a 10/17 SPAM score domain?
Hi - Looking at acquiring a domain name that has a great product fit. The problem is it is currently getting a 10/17 Open Site Explorer SPAM score. The existing site for the domain is running Google sponsored link ads and is full of internal pages that link off to these ads. That explains the existing SPAM score. If I acquire the domain I'll throw out the Google ad pages and build instead a site with real valuable content that behaves like a normal site and look at building backlinks etc. My question is, following this approach, how long is it likely to take Google to not see the domain as some Spam factory so it starts getting well positioned SERPs?

Site moved to https and not showing any Moz DA or PA
Hello Fellow Mozzers, So, I have a client site that we moved from non https to https at the end of 2015. We had decent moz numbers (Da/Pa etc) but now we are only showing a 1 for both of them. Does it usually take time for Moz to carry over the info to the https version or does that process entirely start over? Not sure where to start looking. Cheers D

When is OSE updated?
Hey there, It clearly stands that OSE will be updated, well yesterday... on 21th April. In my experience, they usually update the date if they have technical issues or something... ...but now they haven't yet made any changes.

Competitor analysis, why they rank so much better [ecommerce/Magento]
For a Dutch e-commerce website, we're having some issuse being found & ranked on important keywords. I have done a detailed view into the content & technical part (html) of our website and a competitor's site. Our site is www.hond.nl (hond is the Dutcn noun dog, the best domain we could get)
Link Explorer | | Canome79
Competitor: www.obobo.nl (no meaning at all) For searches for instance by dogfood (Dutch: "hondenvoer") we rank really bad while our competitor ranks really well. I've gone trouch the moz-tools intensively but can't figure out why. We got more content, more self-written texts, more incoming root-domain links etc. Any ideas were we could get a solution? Seems that our Splash pages are doing "ok" but especially Category pages are listing badly.0 -
Why doesn't my site show up in Moz Site Explorer
I started this website about 2 months ago, www.guyetteroofing.com. I know it still needs a lot of work, but I can't find any information on it on the site explorer tool.

How can I use Open Site Explorer to Identify why my own URL's are appearing as inbound links
I'm a new member of Moz, and am trying to understand why I am seeing my sites URL's in my Inbound Link results in Open Site Explorer. There are quite a few, and they are all product category URL's that are generated by my stores database. This is not happening with .html URL's. Any thoughts?
