Regarding google panda: would it be wise to use automatic generated content when there is no content.
-
Hi guys,
i am currently creating a local business directory and was deciding when we first start there will be a lot of business listings without a business decription until the owner of that business come to submit a description. so when if a business listing have no business description would it be better to have an automatic generated business description like this:
www.startlocal.com.au/retail/books/tas_hobartandsouth/Scene_Magazine_2797040.htmlthe automated genrated description for this listing on that page is:
Scene Magazine is a business that is based in Kingston, 7050, TAS: Hobart And South. Scene Magazine is listed in 2 categories including: Magazines and Periodicals Shops and Book Stores and Shops. Within the Magazines and Periodicals Shops category there are 5 businesses within 25 km of Scene Magazine. Some of those businesses included within the radius of 25 km are Island Magazine, Artemis Publishing Consultants and Bride Tasmania Magazine.would google panda affect this or not and would it be wise to use this auto content when there is no description for a business?

Actually, we did recover from the original Panda hit last December so "YEEEEHAAA!". We combined a bunch of similar categories and started writing descriptions for categories that were missing them.
Unfortunately, we got smacked again by Panda 3.7 in June and haven't recovered yet.

Nobody really knows what google used to demote websites during the Panda update. Maybe it was generated content, short content, spun content, grammar problems, ads, affiliate links, who knows. And, since nobody has yet recovered from Panda (if anybody recovered you would hear them yelling YEEEEHAAAA! in the forums) they can't tell you what they did to escape.
I personally don't care for the generated content. I would not have placed it on an important site before Panda and certainly would not use it now.
You can leave it off the site or you can publish it and take your chances.

Where can I find a breakdown of google search volume by specific industry/vertical? For example, what % of people searching in google are looking for housing? Cars? Restaurants?
I"m looking for specific breakdowns of search volume in google by: #1 Vertical (Shopping/restaurants/Services etc). For example, how many people are searching in google for information pertaining to restaurants per month? Search volume for all of 2012, 2013, 2014? #2 More granular categories within verticals, people searching for: books, apartment rentals, cellphones) Is there a breakdown of google search somewhere online that gives this type of information? Thank you MOZ community, really appreciate it!

Why is there no compiled list of the different types of search results on Google, and what the content qualifications are to generate those results?
Seems to me that this list should exist out there somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Am I just not as good of a Googler as I thought I was?
