What Google+ URL to Take?
-
I could go with my Domain Name (/+tallahasseedefense) for simplicity sake and ease of remembering. However, would there be any SEO benefit to using a Google+ with both "Attorney" and "Tallahassee" in the URL (/+Casey&TorresAttorneysatLawTallahassee)?
-
I'm not a Google+ expert but I agree with Tom here that the URL should be easy to remember and brandable. I would prefer something like /+casey&torres vs the other ones they suggested. I know you can request a different URL. But if you have to choose between the two the /+tallahasseedefense is definitely better. I have google.com/+vzpro which doesn't help people know what I do but it is easy to remember. I keep all of my marketing urls the same if I can. fb.com/vzpro, twitter.com/vzpro etc and try to coordinate them as best as possible. I would consider what their other social media outlets have as urls and maybe try to get something that all fits.

Hi Drew
Sorry, you're definitely right about that and my apologies if I insinuated otherwise. Google has served up some pretty bizarre URLs for sites I've managed before as well.
All I would say in addition is keep in mind that you can't change these URLs once they're set - so take care!
-
Great points. Keep in mind, though, that these were the two suggested URLs that Google was offering up. I'm not exactly trying to game the system, I'm just trying to be on the winning team.
Thanks for the input. Any other thoughts?
-
I'd go with the first one as it is far more brandable and memorable.
With the second one you'd be giving that up, while attempting to gain some sort of benefit for SEO. I can tell you now with some certainty that the SEO benefit of such a URL would be negligible and I'm pretty convinced that Google would not exactly be thrilled if they saw you trying to SEO optimise the URL (on their own social network, no less!), which may come back to haunt you.
Go with a branded and memorable URL.

Google Carousel - What Should We Now Be Doing Differently?
Google Carousel is rolling out for even more topics. How does it affect or change tracking in Google Analytics? For example, if I am in the Carousel and someone clicks my listing, then Google completes a search for my property… then the searcher clicks through to my site organically. Will I know that someone originally clicked the Carousel or will I have no idea and simply see a Google organic click? Should we be optimizing our Google+ Places listings differently? How does this change our own organic keyword targeting? In other words, if I am in the Carousel should I go after a different keyword organically? Does anyone know how many people are clicking into the Carousel vs. the organic listings or even pay per click below? Searchers behavior will be altered because of this change. What say you all? City names in URLs
Hey guys. When targeting a specific keyword that mentions a city (eg. Dover Used Cars) would it be a good practice to include that city in the URL when creating additional pages (eg. placethatsellsusedcars.com/dover-used-fords)? Thanks!

Google only posting some reviews?
A doctor of mine recently complained that his patient went on to his Google+ Local listing and submitted a review, but it never showed up. The patient can see it on his own page, but it's not viewable publicly. Any ideas or posts you've seen about this? Thanks! Tom

Google Places Multiple Locations Strategy
Hi, I have client who is a psychology college that has multiple locations across the United States. We currently have a Google places setup for their main location which is in Chicago. They also have multiple locations in California and Washington d.c. My question is what is the best strategy for setting up Google places for each one of their locations? can it all be done from the Chicago Google places account or do I have to build out individual Google places accounts for each location. Thanks!

Appering in both Google Places and regular SERP at the same time
Hi all! My question is: if a search query gives 2 regular results, then the Google Places results, then 8 more results on the first page, is it possible for a website to appear in both in the regular listing, and in the Google Places listing at the same time? In other words: if I do everything well, can my website be the first result, and also be one of the results in the Places listing as well? Or does a website only either apper in the regular listing or in the Places listing? Thanks for the answers!

No option to claim listing in Google Places: country-wide issue
Hi, All! We were trying to advise a client about local SEO, and we ran into the issue of - their Google Places pages (yes, they have several, that's a separate issue) are "unclaimable." Meaning - up at the top of the page there is neither a "Edit this page - Business Owner?" heading or a "Edit this listing - Owner-verified listing" heading. When you try to claim it independently using the phone number (all pages have the same phone number, but different addresses), Google gives you "No address found for this phone number" and the option to now add a new page, which is not quite what we're looking for. This is an Israeli location, and this appears to be an issue with a few other random Israeli pages I checked (I saw pages with neither heading option). But a number of the Israeli pages have "Owner-verified listing." How did they get it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Regards, Aviva
