Google+ currently DOES support hidden addresses?
-
We noticed yesterday that many of our clients with hidden addresses are now able to get a verified G+ page through the Places dashboard.
Anyone else have any insight on this? Are they classified as "Local" pages, or just verified "Business" pages?
-
Hi Avalanche,
If it happened automatically, then it does sound like part of the automatic upgrade. I do, however, recommend that you investigate and resolve the business title inconsistency. Google's guidelines specifically forbid anything but the legal business name or DBA in that field. If an internal edit doesn't work, I'd go through the troubleshooter:
https://support.google.com/places/
Hit the red 'contact us' button to begin documenting the problem, which is quite a serious one, both because of Google's guidelines and the fact that citation consistency is considered to be one of the top local ranking factors.
Hope this helps!

We're not too worried about the wrong name right now, as Google thinks that it's a neighborhood. The service area is correct. We're pretty sure it will resolve itself once reported enough times.
The merging action happened automatically. Here is another one https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/115095730384671234906/115095730384671234906/about
All I had to do is go into the places dashboard and it had created the G+ Local page, already verified.

Hi AvalancheSearch,
Thanks for the link. That looks like a merged, verified Google+ Local page, as it has both reviews and social features. Interesting. Are you saying that this change to the type of Google+ Local page you have happened only last Friday?
There is currently a major upgrade going on in which all old Google Place Pages will be upgraded to the new Google+ Local dashboard. SABs have been advised for some time not to merge their social and local pages. See: http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/google-business-pages/12261-there-way-verify-service-area-google-plus.html
Did you take merging action? Or are you saying this happened automatically?

The wrong name on your business may be problematic. Can you figure out where it's coming from?

If you look at this page, the address is hidden. Only the city is showing. It's a weird name/not sure why that happened. This was done through the places dashboard on Friday.

The simple answer is that Google Places allow you to designate service-area businesses, such as a lawn care company that goes to people's homes or businesses. Most of these businesses are run out of someone's house or have a PO Box.
A Google+ Page, though, does not allow you to "hide" your address.
The confusion, though, is that a few months ago, Google started allowing you to merge Google+ Pages into Google Places pages. I work with these all the time, and I still find it confusing.
According to this Google Product Forum:
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-plus-discuss/YEoxcSdOWGI
... you are not supposed to create a Google+ Page for a Service Area business that has a hidden address.Google+ Pages do not support hidden addresses.
A service area business is also not available for Google Business Photos (think street view photos inside a business). That's only for a buiness where you can have customers come into a store or a physical location.
Instead, you should create a Google Places listing, from the new Places Dashbaord, and add your service area into it.
This forum has a bit more detail as well:

Thanks,

Google Plus Company Page Verification
Hi How do you test successful G+ company page/publisher integration/verification if using the less technical methods such as linking between the Home page and the G+ company page instead of adding code to the head section? Since i take it the google structured data testing tool cant work in these cases since no code on the head section ! Is it best to add the code anyway ? I note my clients still not achieving a knowledge graph card/section in the search results for a branded search but i have heard that doesnt come until you have at least hundreds of followers and/or G+ interactions. All Best

Gain Access to Google+ Profile
We are having trouble accessing a Google+ profile for a client. We know the profile we want to gain access to, but the client doesn't remember the email or password. The marketing company they worked with before also doesn't know what the email or password is to claim the profile. We have tried contacting Google to gain access to the email, but they were unable to give us the login email due to privacy issues. If you have any suggestions to gain access to this profile, it is greatly appreciated. Please take in mind the following: We do not know the email nor have access to obtaining it We do know the profile we want to gain access to

Google+ for Business
Google+ has thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into my SEO plans. Over the last few weeks, Google+ listings started showing up in the SERPs for my money keywords. The good news is that once we launch our new site, we have a good chance of getting into the Google+ 7 packs. The bad news is that SEO on a national level just got tougher with the local Google+ listings crowding natural listings down the page. Questions: 1. How does Google+ determine who goes into the 7 pack?
Social Media | | CsmBill
2. Is there always a 7 Pack? Can there only be a 4 pack?
3. I see Google+ listings for companies that don't have a Google+ page. How is that possible?
4. Through my keyword research, I have about 20 keywords that are triggering Google+ listings in the SERPs. Some SERPs are only showing 2-4 G+ listings. Is it safe to assume that this is because no one has put those keywords in their Google+ description, and hasn't optimized for those words on their site?0 -
How much of an impact does Google+ page age have?
Do Google+ pages gain authority with age? Does it matter very much if I wait a few months to make a Google+ page as opposed to establishing it now, even if I won't be doing much work on it for a while?

Google Plus Algorithim take into account your circle of friends?
I understand that Google will now display search results from your google plus page if it is relevant or if it is from a friend. But my question is if there is weight based on the amount of friends you have or the relevancy of your friends. For example if you search for the term 'wine' if I have 5,000 friends and many of them are wine and food critics just because of that will my google plus page show up or maybe if I just mention wine would I have a higher chance of showing up than a person who is more relevant on their plus page but has less friends or rather less relevant friends? Thanks!

Open Graph Tags Being Spidered By Google?
Do Facebook Open Graph tags get spidered by Google? I have a site I'm looking at and they've implemented these tags on the entire site, but with the same title and description on every page. I'm assuming if you use these tags, give each page their own unique tags. But do these have an effect on rankings at all? Does googlebot see them and take them into account?
