Moz Report: Number of Domains linking to Domain
-
In the Moz report, what does the "number of domains linking to domain" indicate? I'm analyzing our competitors link profile and noticed some numbers as high as 2369232?
Is there a form that explains the reports a little more in detail?
Thanks,
-
Hi,
There is an explanation of the metrics in the Open Site Explorer here: http://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/open-site-explorer
The "number of domains linking to domain" is the total number of other domains that have at least one link to the site.
You said, " I'm analyzing our competitors link profile and noticed some numbers as high as 2369232? Yes, 2,369,232 is a high number, but is that number linking domains or some other metric like linking pages?
If it is linking domains then you could only expect those sort of numbers for a very large and significant site. If it isn't a site like that then that number must be an error in the report.

Hi there, thanks for your question! Are you referring to the Competitive Link Metrics report, which is explained in this help guide? http://moz.com/help/guides/links/competitive-metrics?

Did the keyword tool recently change? What is Grepwords? Why do all my long-tail phrases show as "not available?" Just wondering...

Should I exclude prepositions in tracked keywords of moz analytics?
I'm new to Moz. Just set up my trial campaign, and it had suggested many keywords. Many of the phrases that were suggested do not contain prepositions. For example, instead of something like "sporting good stores in Chicago" it suggested "sporting good stores Chicago" Today, I looked at the on-page optimization suggestions, which are (of course) suggesting that I remove prepositions from my page to rank well. Well, as you know, that is unnatural to the reader. But I suspect people are searching in higher volume, leaving the prepositions out. I know that if I were to search for a sporting goods store in Chicago, I would probably leave out "in." What should I do? Should I remove all the suggested keywords, and make them readable (which people are less like using in their search?) Do I go back to all my pages and try to optimize it for a keyword that is natural, but does not include a preposition (such as Chicago sporting goods stores) or should I be doing something else?

Does anyone else have issues with Moz's keyword search volume tool for Google's search engine?
It will show the search volume for Bing even when Google is selected. Then, if you select Bing, you'll get the same data as it shows for when you selected "google". So basically, this tool does not work for Google's search engine. Or it is most likely not a reliable way to perform keyword research. Anyone else notice this? Does Moz even offer a way to submit a support ticket to get this fixed?

We Launched a new site and Rogerbot is still reporting on links/errors from the old site, is there a way to clear those out?
We are mostly a Branding agency, and have not put a lot of effort into SEO for ourselves... SEO tends to take a backseat to design most of the time, making it a little difficult for me at times when it comes to SEO. We recently launched a new site, http://Roninadv.com/ and the developer and I have done quite a bit of work to make it work well for Google. I was really looking forward to a new crawl report from Roger, but alas, It's like Roger crawled the old site? The new site has been up since last Monday. Is there a way to clear out the old errors? Do I just need to give roger more time?

Can Moz use canconical links to prevent notices about duplicate content issues?
if so how do we enable this - we've an average size site with a few hundred products but they appear in multiple categories, canonical url points to it's primary category (but a new page exists for each section... so for /cat-a/abc there will be another page cat-b/abc and again but the canonical points to cat-a always for that product) basically I see this kind of duplication error / notice as a false positive... help me
