Blogger relationship - One Off VS periodic monthly blogging (which is best)
-
Good day all,
I am interested in building relationships with my bloggers (i.e...people that are interested in my website and blog about it regularly).
I would also propose to them the idea of blogging about our page regularly, perhaps recurring monthly.
If the strategy is in place, could receiving links from the same bloggers each month cause any negative SEO effects?
Thanks for your input.

I'm don't think there would be zero risk, but the risk would certainly be minimised.
It's authenticity that really matters in all of this. If people are writing topically relevant blog articles that link to pages on the same subject and it's being done authentically, then you are working and operating the right side of the line.

Assuming all bloggers had high authority, would that risk still apply?

Hi Carlos
I think it's fair to say that yes, there could be a negative SEO effect with a strategy of mass recurring blogging. The risk of that negative effect would I think increase the lower quality and authority the referring sites were.

Peter,
Weather realistic or not, that is the tentative goal. What I am trying to determine is if there could be a negative SEO effect from mass recurring blogging VS one-offs.
Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos
I think it would be surprising to get 50 to 100 bloggers with high quality blogs all writing posts with links about/to the same site. I'm not saying it's not possible, but you would expect to see that sort of level every month where bloggers were raving and reviewing quality products from a well known brand.
If you haven't got such a brand then I think you would struggle to get that many bloggers willing to write about your site and maintain the quality of those articles/links.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response. These are not paid links and yes, relevant blogs from their editorial choice. What spark this idea was a blogger's interest in becoming partners and blogging about us once a month.
So if we were to somehow obtain 50 or 100 blogger partners which blog each month, would that still be consider organic?

Hi Carlos
I think it would depend on how many inbound links you were getting from the same group of bloggers and their sites, the authority and relevance of the things they normally blog about, plus what the proportion of what they were blogging about was directed to your site.
It's difficult to predict as there are so many factors. The important thing is if the relationships you are building with bloggers are genuine and the blog links are genuinely organic and not paid for, then it should be in your favour. If these links don't fit this criteria then yes, it could have a negative SEO effect.
I hope that helps,
Peter

Best practices for retiring 100s of blog posts?
Hi. I wanted to get best practices for retiring an enterprise blog with hundreds of old posts with subject matter that won't be repurposed. What would be the best course of action to retire and maintain the value of any SEO authority from those old blog pages? Is it enough to move those old posts into an archive subdirectory and Google would deprioritize those posts over time? Or would a mass redirect of old blog posts to the new blog's home page be allowed (even though the old blog post content isn't being specifically replaced)? Or would Google basically say that if there aren't 1:1 replacement URLs, that would be seen as soft-404s and treated like a 404?

Google URL Shortener- Should I use one or multiple???
I have a client with a number of YouTube videos. I'm using Google URL Shortner to allow the link to show in the YouTube text (as its a long URL). Many of these links go to the same page ex .com/services-page Should I use a single short URL for each video linking to the .com/services-page or should they be unique each time? If unique, would Google possibly think I'm trying to manipulate results? Thanks in advance. I'm just not sure on this one and hope someone knows best practice on this. Thanks!

Hacked site vs No site
So I have this website that got hacked with cloaking and Google has labeled it as such in the SERPs. With due reason of coarse. My question is I am going to relaunch an entirely new redesigned website in less than 30 days, do I pull the hacked site down until then or leave it up? Which option is better?

Best Link Building Strategies in Modern SEO
Hello, In light of all the updates and also in guest blogging being only for nofollow links now, what's some of the best strategies for link building for ecommerce sites? We're in an industry where the content doesn't get linked to very much. Thanks.

Best method to target similar keywords??
Hi Guys, We have client that wants to target 3 similar terms (used, secondhand and pre-owned) variations. We have been having a discussion about the different methods to try but can't make a decision on the best route. The target page has a list of pre-owned products so whichever route was take these products still need to be visible without creating duplicate content issues.... 1 - Go all in on one page do our best at optimising a single page for all 3. - i don't like this route.
White Hat / Black Hat SEO | | Kal-SEO
2 - Stick with the current pre-owned url and create a url for used and secondhand with a 301 redirect back to the pre-owned url.
3 - Create three individual pages aimed at a keyword individually, keep the pre-owned as the original and add canonical links to used and secondhand I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Thanks in advanced0 -
Mobile SEO best practices : Should my mobile website be located at m.domain.com or domain.com/mobile?
I'd like to know if there's any difference between using m.domain.com/pages or domain.com/mobile/pages for a mobile website? Which one is better? Why? Does Google treat the two differently? As you can see, I'm new to this! This is my first time working on a mobile website, so any links/resources would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

How Benefitial is Guest Blogging?
So my question is, if you are getting guest posts on sites with high Domain Authority, is it really that benefitial since the actual post will have a low page authority? Is just getting a post on a high domain authority that good?
