Outsourcing Content - Finding Superior Providers...
-
I am looking for content writers. Not textbroker.com, I want content written that isnt scraped and reworded from information already in google. Can anyone recommend a company which isnt afraid to read a book or a magazine, dig up old information to write something truly unique?
This should likely be in a fresh thread, but ill put it here as a side note. If you also can recommend a wordpress or joomla theme designer who has his own creative ideas and is highly skilled...

If you believe you can provide this type of quality then repost in this thread and tell me and I will contact those of you who can for a sample order and select who I will use.
Jared,
You came into this thread asking a very different question. Now you are soliciting us like we are content shops. That's not a recipe for winning.
Please reread my replies to your question above. It directed you to find a person who is already an effective writer and proven expert in your field. These are people who write about a topic because they are experts who love the topic. Not a person who needs to do a pile of research to meet the minimums of what you perceive to be good content.
Your post above tells me that you think that content in a specific field is a commodity that you can buy from almost any vendor for a few dollars per article and threaten the provider with bad feedback if the try to give you spin.
If you are looking for filler content you can probably get that for a few bucks per article and it will often be spin. it will not attract links or climb the rankings.
My suggestion is to find the expert and be willing to pay several hundred dollars, maybe a couple thousand for one piece of best-on-the-web content. Then promote that content like the treasure that it is.
If you want content experts who can do the above you must go out and find them not advertise. That's my experience.

Jared-
I think it's quite possible that one of the factors that played into the lack of response is that a fair amount of research is required. With comprehensive research, a spreadsheet and lots of graphics, you're asking for a piece that is definitely a cut above what many typical freelancers find themselves asked to provide.
I have found some outstanding copywriters on textbroker, and I have no doubt that you can find several there that can and will meet your standards. I would suggest that you might get more response by simply soliciting a writer that is willing to do more than just basic research, and then "interview" two or three of the most promising candidates. Ask them for samples that required a similar level of workmanship. Sure, you'll get a few that can only claim to be fluent English-speakers with their fingers crossed or are simply not up to the task. But IMO, since you're looking for quality work, you'll need to invest some extra effort in your search to qualify the respondents.
Get 'em interested, then thin the herd.

Of those who responded, Id like to share with you an example of the quality of work I am seeking. If you believe you can provide this type of quality then repost in this thread and tell me and I will contact those of you who can for a sample order and select who I will use. This is an example of an ad I posted on textbroker that no one will accept due to the difficulty and high quality demand;
-NO DUPE CONTENT
-EXPLAIN WHY GENERIC AND BRAND NAME DIFFER IN APPEARANCE
-PROVIDE EXCEL WORKSHEET OF EVERY XANAX PILL CURRENTLY BEING PRODUCED
-INCLUDE DESCRIPTION, STRENGTH, COLOR, SHAPE, COUNTRY MADE IN, DRUG NAME (EX. XANOR)-PICTURES, OR LINKS TO PICTURES IS A PLUS
SHOULD BE DETAILED, COMPLETE, ORIGINAL, AND HAVE INFORMATION THAT WAS RESEARCHED NOT JUST FOUND ON PAGE ONE OF GOOGLE.
GIVE ME STOLEN CONTENT I WILL LEAVE YOU BAD FEEDBACK.
GIVE ME GRAMMATICAL ERRORS AND LAZY FILLER WORDS, I WILL LEAVE BAD FEEDBACK.
PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY WORK, AND I WILL REHIRE YOU AT A HIGHER PAY RATE FOR CONTINUED WORK.

Hello, Jared-
EGOL's suggestion is a good one, if you're looking for content. However, I would differentiate between content and SEO copy. If content that is entertaining or informative will accomplish what you seek, then finding a niche blogger might be your best bet. If, however, you're looking for content to help get your site ranked for specific search terms, then I think you really need to consider an SEO copywriter.
And even further up the food chain, you'll find content strategists, that will tailor optimized copy to your specific needs, whether that be reputation/authority management, organic search or more. Obviously, the further up the ladder you go, the higher rates you can expect to pay.
-
Some of the best content on my site has been written by bloggers with advanced degrees in the niche.
-
This is a great answer, they would already be educated in your field and provide higher quality content for your users.
-
Search google for your main keywords and filnd a blogger who is already writing kickass content for your topic. Hire Her.
-
Content wise, shouldn't be that hard to find people depending on what you're willing to pay. You can easily get a decent 300 - 500 word article for around £12 - £20. If you're only paying $5 per 500 words then you're going to get people at the lower end of the food chain usually.
With exams ending students may be looking for more work so you can try http://www.studentgems.com/ beyond that find someone you like on elance or odesk.
I can recommend to you website designers or WordPress coders, but I don't know any good designers that also code into a CMS. I'd say you're actually looking for 2 different people, but also remember that you'll need to give the designer a decent brief, even if you want to let them run riot with their own ideas.
You looking in a particular territory or does it not matter where they are?

Hi Jared,
We use Ben Locker & Associates for our copywriting- great company, and they do pretty much all of the legwork on their end for us. Here's a link to their website:
Hope this helps!

Tips on finding the right Senior Designer / Design Director
Hello Everyone, I manage a fairly large educational website that we are looking to completely redesign to improve the overall site user experience and usability. In the past I, a non-designer, business person, would just roughly draw how I thought the site should look and our developer (who is good, but not a web designer) would just try his best to make everything look profession. Over the years, it has become painfully obvious that we need to invest in more design expertise and move towards a modern, smartly designed website. So my question: Where are the best places to find good freelance designers? I have of course conducted web searches, browsed elance, and asked my network for referrals. However, I am finding that most of the really good ones, ones who have to ability to take charge and lead us through this entire process, and who have at least a basic understanding of SEO principles, work for larger integrated development shops who also expect their people to develop the new site as well. We already have a developer and are primarily looking for the design expertise. Does anyone in the Moz community have any suggestions or even referrals? Thanks! Eric

Fixing Render Blocking Javascript and CSS in the Above-the-fold content
We don't have a responsive design site yet, and our mobile site is built through Dudamobile. I know it's not the best, but I'm trying to do whatever we can until we get around to redesigning it. Is there anything I can do about the following Page Speed Insight errors or are they just a function of using Dudamobile? Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content Your page has 3 blocking script resources and 5 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.Remove render-blocking JavaScript: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js http://mobile.dudamobile.com/…ckage.min.js?version=2015-04-02T13:36:04 http://mobile.dudamobile.com/…pts/blogs.js?version=2015-04-02T13:36:04 Optimize CSS Delivery of the following: http://fonts.googleapis.com/…:400|Great+Vibes|Signika:400,300,600,700 http://mobile.dudamobile.com/…ont-pack.css?version=2015-04-02T13:36:04 http://mobile.dudamobile.com/…kage.min.css?version=2015-04-02T13:36:04 http://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/kempruge/files/kempruge_0.min.css?v=6 http://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/…mpruge/files/kempruge_home_0.min.css?v=6 Thanks for any tips, Ruben

Above the Fold Content - Use of large images
Hi All, Our designers have come to the SEO team to ask if have a large image across the top of the page taking up a large majority of the above the fold real estate will impact our SEO. Our initial thoughts are no as long as we have an optimised H1 visibal to the user landing there which informs them what the page is about. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Getting a lot more duplicate content warnings than I expected.
I run WordPress on many of my sites and a site crawl has found MANY duplicate content pages on the latest domain I started a campaign for. I expected to see quite a lot on the tag pages that only had one post but even tag pages with multiple posts and author and category pages with many posts are showing as duplicate content. Is this normal for a WordPress site to have so much duplicate content warnings from the taxonomy pages? I have the option to bulk noindex, follow the category and tag pages but should I do it? I get some traffic directly to the tag pages so removing the pages from search results would dent the traffic of the site a little (generally high bounce rate, low engagement traffic anyway) but could removing the apparent duplicate content actually improve the article pages themselves? Or does anyone have any WordPress specific advice for making the pages not duplicate content? I've toyed with the idea of just displaying excerpts but creating manual excerpts for the 4 years worth of posts, some of which I have no personal knowledge of the subject matter so other suggestions are welcome.

Which Content Causes Duplicate Content Errors
My Duplicate Content list starts off with this URL: http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/branding/bellevue-medical-center-logo Then it lists the five below as Duplicate Content: http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/branding/fonts http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/branding/clear-zone http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/social-media http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/branding/order-stationery http://www.nebraskamed.com/about-us/branding/logo I do notice that most of these pages have images and/or little or no content outside of our sites template. Is this causing SEOmoz to see it as duplicate? Should I use noindex, follows to fix this? This error is happening with branding pages so noindex is an option. What should I do if that's not an option? Should I change our mega menus to be ajax driven to so the links aren't showing up in the code of every page?

Does hidden content in jQuery ui tabs still get ignored?
I am looking for a more current answer to this question. I know that google leaves out the js and css. But since the code usually has display:hidden inline with the code while using jquery ui tabs I was curious to know if google considers this hidden or from what some articles have said, "tries to ignore the content". Is this still true today? I would assume no but looking for some back-up.

Lazy Loading Content and SEO
I'v been seeing a lot of websites use a technique to present content to website visitors when the scroll down the page called "Lazy Loading". Does this hinder SEO and indexing since the content is not actually on the page until the user acts/requests it?

Need advice on diplaying content for Search
Hi every body, I am doing landing page redesign(s). Does any body know or can refer a content carousel that can rotate video and pictures? The "site with images" search option result is a compelling reason to showcase pictures if your space competeiveness (showroom, merchandise, etc) can be improved with a strong image presence. here is my main landing page http://www.shearerpainting.com I know there is alot of stuff, and confusing call to action, but I am looking for strategies to clean it up, clear fous on action (get bid, learn more), but allow users to see that they can dig for more content.
