Offline conversions not as e-commerce transactions in universal analytics
-
I am working on a project to measure offline conversions with the new Universal Analytics from Google.
When a lead gets the status "order" in my custom made lead management system, we sent the earlier grabbed Google client ID with the code below to Universal Analytics. The upload is working, although Analytics reports the conversion as an e-commerce transaction. I think the conversion must be uploaded as a analytics goal / event but I don't know what we can add to the code to let Analytics report it that way.
Does anyone know how I can modify the code or Analytics settings to make sure that Google Analytics does not report it as eCommerce transaction?
My code for uploading the Google Client ID to Analytics:
<code>$ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://www.google-analytics.com/collect'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPAUTH, CURLAUTH_ANY); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "v=1&tid=UA-XXXXXXXX-42&cid=379445656".urlencode('.')."1380816256&t=transaction&tr=123.00&ti=43388&z=".time()); curl_close ($ch);</code>

E-commerce with domain and subdomain for products
Hi, I have two pages: (main) page with a lot of traffic e.g. www.bags.com/yellow-bag-hp, and I have second subdomain e.g. www.shop.bags.com/yellow-bag-hp . This two domain has different CMS systems. Sites from main page have higher DA and PA and I can’t delete it, and I also can’t delete sites from a subdomain (shop) because this other CMS for eCommerce. What do you recommend for resolve this situation. Maybe create new URL: www.bags.com/shop and put on it all products, e.g.: www.bags.com/shop/yellow-bag-hp, and redirect all old pages to this one, or something else?

Trying to locate the e commerce tracking code on shopify?
Hi everyone, I am doing a google analytics site audit for an e commerce site using shopify. I can see e commerce data on GA but I'd like to make sure that e commerce tracking code is present and correct. I have the shopify thank you page checkout.shopify.com/example1234556 but cannot locate the client's e commerce tracking code http://cl.ly/191F0Z460p1L. I guess this is normal since we are on the shopify domain. Is this normal to not have the client e commerce tracking code present on shopify thank you page? Does shopify have a system in place that integrates and or generate this e commerce tracking code for the client? Finally, how can I verify if the ga e commerce tracking code on shopify is correct and in place? Thanks for letting me know!

Google Analytics - Not provided info
Morning all, i am using Google analytics for some time now, One of the issues that i don't have a clear answer for is, when i am looking at Traffic Source --> overview In the Keyword column, that is a line (not provided) What we think here is that we cant see the keywords if someone arrived to our website but was logged-in to Google account Is this correct? is there a way to find the keywords behind this (not provided)? - i have many visits for this line (17.3% of all visits) and i don't know which keywords people used. Thank you SeoWise

Analytics tagging parameters effect on site SEO
One of the effective tools used in analytics tagging is the use of analytics parameters that starts with '?' or '#'. Example on site tagging: Main link: www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/ www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?lid=topnav www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?lid=sidenav All three links link to the same landing page, with an extra parameter. Using email or campaign tagging: www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/ www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?utm_source=launch&utm_medium=email&utm_term=html&utm_content=getscoop&utm_campaign=hwdyrwm2012 With that we create many tagged links based on the campaign internal strategy. How do these effect indexing, and link juice? How do thy effect SEO in general?

Why did I loose all my product page rankings (e-commerce site)
This friday I noticed that I'd lost pretty much all my product pages in the SERP and also their rankings for the product names. These are products I both have introduced to the market (sweden) and also some that I've been the only one selling. I've analyzed a couple of different ranking-faults. Examples: **"super mario väggdekaler" should rank **http://www.roligaprylar.se/Super-Mario-Vaeggdekaler.html as #1 and has done for several years. Instead this search in my internal search engine ranks #10-#15 with no relevance. www.roligaprylar.se/?q=mario%20v%E4g "jedi morgonrock" should rank www.roligaprylar.se/Jedi-Morgonrock.html as #1 or #2 but instead this url ranks as #12 www.roligaprylar.se/product_detail.php?pid=Jedi-Morgonrock "Charlie sheen bobblehead" (in the swedish serp this should be the most simple term to rank on. previously #1) my internal search engine ranks for #8 with this url <cite>www.roligaprylar.se/?q=Charlie%20Sheen%20Bobblehead</cite>J So I've drawn these conclusions and actions Products that don't rank well longer but still ranks with their alternative non-rewritten url has gotten deep links from affilliates (i track affilliate ids and stuff via this link) and have replaced the original url which is rewritten. Action: Canonical urls for these non-rewritten products to the rewritten version. For example on this product page www.roligaprylar.se/product_detail.php?pid=Jedi-Morgonrock I've placed a canonical for this url www.roligaprylar.se/Jedi-morgonrock.html With the products not ranking at all or when searches in my search engine shows up I suspect some kind of dup content punishment where Google thinks the search result is more important than the product page. Action: All search-pages are now noindex,follow I also increased product name density in terms of keywords on the product page. But I'm still owned and losing tons of money during the holidays (buying adwords at obscene amounts instead hehe). So just wanted to hear with you guys. Are my conclusions and actions correct? What have I missed, what more could I do to reverse this? Thanks Dan
