The Link in Profile Page is it good BackLink or not?
-
Well, i see that we need 200mozpoints to be able to put our Website Link (DOFOLLOW) into our profile in SEOMOZ.. the way i know it, it would be a good BackLink for my site.
Here is the questions, please do answer from top to bottom, because if you have answered "NOT GOOD" for the first question, then the rest of the question will definitely be "NOT GOOD" too
Every single back link source i used below (for question #2 and #3), comes from a good domain (it is an extremely wellknown website in Indonesia)
1. Is the DOFOLLOW link from my SEOMOZ Profile Page , a good back link?
2. is the DOFOLLOW from http://www.indonesiaindonesia.com/m4g1c14n a good back link
3. is the DOFOLLOW from http://www.kaskus.us/member.php?u=10407 (click the Contact Info), a good back link?
okay, only if you answered the first 3 questions with "It is a good backlink, and it will definitely help your SEO Standing for your site", then i ask you my real question..
i was planning to use the service from http://www.monsterbacklinks.com , and i asked them to show me what kind of "High Quality Backlink" they will be giving me, here is their reply, 10 examples of profile they use to backlink to one of their client

Domain PR 5--http://www.thepoint.com/users/paul-c-2/profile
Domain PR 5--http://forums.cagepotato.com/members/paulc4312.htmlIn my eyes, all of those links are as good as the one link coming from SEOMOZ Profile, hell in fact i have already purchased from them the 750 High Quality BackLink package (cost 197$), but my PayPal is being lock down just now, because i login to my account from both my cellphone and pc (they think my account is hacked)...
so will i increase my SEO Standing if i used their service? if they are, i will finalized my purchase tomorrow (after i settled the problem with paypal)
Their FAQ Page is also very convincing .. such these 2 questions
Will I get penalized for paying you to do my backlinks?
There is no way you will get penalized for paying us to do your backlinks. It is possible to get penalized for paying people to put links on their sites but that's not what you're buying from us. When purchasing from us you are paying us to place thousands of free backlinks. There is absolutely no way Google can penalize you for this.
Will Google ban/sandbox me for getting so many backlinks?
We have never had any problems with getting sanboxed or banned by google. None of our customers have had any problems either. If our methods of placing backlinks were to get a site penalized or banned then we would be sending thousands of links towards our competitors sites. But since our methods work great for increasing search engine rankings, we would never use our backlinking on our competitors because that will damage our rankings and boost theirs.
Please enlighten me

Create a blog and write on subjects you are knowledgable about and that are on-topic for your website. Send these out via social channels and you will reap the rewards

But... hmmm so i should also start writing article inside my company website...
hmmm interesting idea.. perhaps i should start writing article about technique that might interest people? or just write anything? most of the time, when i write in my company's website, i always try to weight if this article will benefit my company or not... perhaps i should try to think "will this article interesting for the viewer..."
Perhaps i should be writing more Tutorials for my own website
Hmmm a good food for thought indeed
Thanks a lot

Dont worry about follow and no follow. just concentrate on getting yourself spread as wide as possible. Tweet, Digg, Like, InShare, +1 et al. Get your articles out to as many places as possible
-
When you are saying go social with it.. does it mean i should try to publish my content through facebook ? or it is the other one, that i need to publish the content through some blog / website ?
but all the links coming out of facebook is even worse the NOFOLLOW links x_x, it is a redirect and will that help my linkbuilding mission? O.o;

I'm afraid I would never condone the use of such a service because at some point, Google is going to look at these in more detail and see hundreds of back-links from non-relevant sites and directories and will act accordingly, as only Google can.
I understand your frustration, but bide your time, get some great content written and go social with it
-
yeah i like your answer... in an ideal world , i would be doing that . The problem is our compatitor such as this one http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.niadesain.com , is having a lot of links (thousands) coming from a lot worse spam site, and yet, they are doing extremely well in SERP ... trully, my site serves an infinitely better content compared to that site, but the backlinks they had from all those spam site is tremendous. And of course i dont plan to get a backlink from any spam site, but my example here is that the links come from a perfectly good site...
I am hopeful, that at least, although i am paying something, that i would be able to compete agains those that employ the use of spam site

Basically, you want to stop worrying about do-follow and no-follow and go for relevance. You also want to look at citations and mentions as well because there is much more at work with Social SEO than there once was.
On the other note, try not to pay anyone else to submit and try to gain you backlinks unless it is part of an agreed SEO program. My advice here is to walk away and just create great content that will see you getting linked to.
Also, be active in Social Media to build your reputation and standing.
Regards,
Andy

More or Less pages helps in SEO?
Hi all, I have gone through some articles where less pages are suggested and they claim that they will be favoured by Google. I'm not sure as with limited pages, we can only target limited keywords. There might be threat from Google in-terms of doorway pages for more pages. But one of our competitor has many pages like dedicated page for every keyword. And their website ranks high and good for all keywords. I can see three pages created with differnet phrases for same on keyword. If less pages are good, how come this works for our competitor? Thanks

Backlinks in Footer - The good, the bad, the ugly.
I tried adding onto a question already listed, however that question stayed where it was and didn't go anywhere close to somewhere others would see it, since it was from 2012. I have a competitor who is completely new, just popped onto the SERPs in December 2015. Now I've wondered how they jumped up so fast without really much in the way of user content. Upon researching them, I saw they have 200 backlinks but 160 of them are from their parent company, and of all places coming from the footer of their parent company. So they get all of the pages of that domain, as backlinks. Everything I've read has told me not to do this, it's going to harm the site bad if anything will discount the links. I'm in no way interested in doing what they did, even if it resulted in page 1 ( which it has done for them ), since I believe that it's only a matter of time, and once that time comes, it won't be a 3 month recovery, it might be worse. What do you all think? My question or discussion is why hasn't this site been penalized yet, will they be penalized and if not, why wouldn't they be? **What is the good, bad and ugly of backlinks in the footer: ** Good Bad Ugly

Diminishing Returns for Links to an Unrelated Page
Suppose I have a new website about cars and I had created a page about something completely not-related - like cupcakes. However, I found that it was very easy to get high quality sites to link to the cupcakes page where as it was very difficult to get people to link to the homepage about cars. If my goal is to increase the SEO for the homepage (which again is related to cars), is there a point where additional high quality links to my cupcakes page is not useful for it anymore? What if I created another page - about frosted cupcakes - which was also easy to get high quality links to?

Where Is This Link Coming From?
According to Moz Analytics we have a link coming from here: http://www.grayshadowfinancial.com/ The anchor text is earthquake prone map. I can't find the link, but if I cntrl+f "earthquake prone map" it shows in the find box, even though I can't see it. I'm guessing this is some spam tactic and they are hiding this with their CSS? Is there anyway I could see it? Best, Ruben

IS there such a thing as a Link Juice Viewer?
Hi, I am managing the tech and SEO for an ecommerce site with a big mega menu with over 140 cats/subcats and well, I know that my link juice is diluted and am thinking of cutting back on the categories but in the meantime. Is there a link juice visualizer? How can I see in a visual format how linkjuice is flowing through the site? Thanks

Negative backlinks
Hi I have heard that penguin penalizes a site for bad backlinks. Do you think that it is true? Do you think that is possible for someone to penalize my website adding my link to some spam website? I'm worried that someone could do it...

Why are these sites so high with poor relevant links...
Hello, Keyword: TV Stands. I have been researching competitors for a client and we seem to be unable to understand why certains pages are ranking on page 1 of Google UK for keyword TV Stands. eg: http://www.furnitureinfashion.net/plasma-TV-stand.html (Google UK 8 - TV Stands) http://direct.tesco.com/q/N.1999542/Nr.99.aspx (Google UK 9 - TV Stands) The furniture in fashion has links from sites like: http://www.ummah.com/forum/ and http://www.muslimco.com/ which is totaly irrelevant to the site. Any ideas on other things as the tesco.com site does not have direct links to it. Cheers
