How To Rank Individual Pages Locally?

Hello,
A fellow business owner recommend that I signup for Moz to ask questions about local SEO. I just have a few questions, but please excuse my ignorance since SEO isn't something I'm very familiar with.
My company has locations in 3 different cities in the state of Arkansas. I've noticed that when I type in certain keywords on Google such as "web design", I see a lot of organic listings from web design companies in my local area - but if I were to search from another city, different listings show up that are related to that city.
I have 3 different pages on my company's website for each of our locations that gives a little bit of information about them - such as the general manager, storefront photos, and the employee of the month.
What can I do to get each of the pages to rank higher on Google in their respective cities?
I've heard a lot of different things mentioned such as having the name, address, and phone number listed. Including Google Maps on the page with our location. And some other stuff such as including stuff such as a "KML file" and a "schema markup".
If anyone can give me a list of definitive suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Let me share some important info with you regarding Local Search.
If the category your business is in is, in fact, 'web design', then you are in somewhat special circumstances. About four or so years ago, Google stopped showing web design/SEO firms in their local pack of results for core searches like 'web design', 'website design', etc. The local pack of results consists of the lettered results (typically A-G) with the little pin icons that are shown within the other, traditional organic results.
Why did Google stop showing web design/SEO companies in the local packs? To my knowledge, they've never made an official announcement about this, but it's presumed that they did so because Google feels that most of these companies conduct most of their business virtually instead of face-to-face. Conducting in-person, face-to-face business with customers is really the defining characteristic of a local business, in Google's opinion, and so, even though some web design firms do meet with their clients in person, they are out of luck as far as the local packs go.
It is sometimes possible to generate local pack results by adding 'in' to a query, as in 'web design in little rock', but the value of appearing for 'in' queries is generally far less than appearing for main queries like 'web design', 'web design little rock', 'web design company', etc.
So, what this all boils down to is that because Google doesn't really consider your company as local, it's likely that you are going to have to make efforts to appear in the organic results rather than the local ones.
It sounds like you've already taken a big step toward this by creating three pages for each of your three offices. Good start! Some questions:

Is the content on each of these pages 100% unique?

Have you made the content on these pages really exciting and helpful? Are the pages short or long?

Have you promoted these pages socially in any way?

Are there good links pointing to these pages, both from inside the site and from outside the site?

Using PO Box/Virtual Address for local citations, but not GMB?
Hello. So, I am aware that it is in violation of Google My Bussiness's terms of service to use register a PO box/virtual address with GMB, but is it problematic to use such addresses for general link building with local citations, such as local directories and resource pages? Would the cons outweigh the pros (more backlinks)? And what about using one of these kinds of addresses on my website, but not GMB? Is it all so interrelated nowadays that I should steer clear of publishing a virtual address anywhere? That just seems hard to wrap my head around as PO Boxes have served a valuable function for small businesses for some 150 years. Thank you, Jon

Which one of these URL's will rank the best?
Hello! Curious on the community's thoughts on linking best practices for the following hypothetical scenario: I own a site called landscaping.com and want to rank for the term "landscapers houston". I have a link on the top title bar linking to landscaping.com/landscapers-near-me with an interactive map with clickable links leading to different metro areas. What should be my link from that page to the Houston page? 1. landscaping.com/landscapers-near-me/landscapers-houston 2. landscaping.com/landscapers-near-me/houston 3. landscaping.com/landscapers-houston 4. landscaping.com/houston The main question is whether to include the parent page or not. i have 2 conflicting thoughts. 1. short URL's are better so dont include it 2. include it because that is the page that links out to it and it helps Google understand the site flow. Local SEO without a GBL
Hey everyone, I'm working with a local catering company that does not have a physical address available for use. Because of privacy concerns, the company is not open to using their home address. The local competition in the targeted area is fairly strong and established already. Does anyone have ideas on how I can work around this?

Trouble Ranking 1st
We are having trouble ranking. We seem to do well for lower competitive words but we are really want to rank for "web design" in our local area. Which is Tyler, Texas. Can anyone advise on what we need to differently? We use Moz Local, have a reviews and are using Yoast SEO. The only thing I can think of is on page optimization. Any advice?

Geo Tags for Yellow pages
Hello, I am new here, and I hope you can help me with Geo Tags. I am the owner of one of the biggest yellow pages in Lithuania, so I hope you don't mind that you won't understand what's written in the page. The url is https://www.spec.lt Every single company that is based in Lithuania is divided into some kind of "activity" that they do. For example "Metal". And they are attached to that activity as the all the other companies that do that - https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai

But everyone is search for businesses that are closer to them, for example companies that are based in the same city, like Vilnius. (The capital of Lithuania for those who don't know that) 😄 So the url would be this: https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai/vilniujeThe questions is: Should we include geo tags in this page like this: Generated by geo-tag.de ? Our competitors don't do that but sites like yellowpages.com do that (I believe). The other question would be https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai should the main category URL have something like that: Shoving that is for Lithuania (the domain is already .lt - google webmaster associates it with Lithuania). The last question is what about the company URL page: https://www.spec.lt/imone/a-lygio-reklama-uab
Should we include geo tags of this company in this page even tho the company works in the whole Lithuania not only in one city ? The problem is: there are so many companies, that we don't know if they work in the whole country or only the part of it. So I hope for the answer that helps to find the best solution. Thank you!0 -
Local SEO: Special charakters in brand name?
Hey guys, we run a local gym in Germany located in Nuremberg called: "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit". Our domain is: www.studio-no1.de We are currently working on a new website since our current Website isn't really SEO optimized. Until then I would like to start optimizing some off-page attributes. As far as I know one of the main points in Local SEO is that your firm is registered at important directories. In our case we are already registred in most of the important german directories. The problem is that our oficicial company name has a special charakter included. This means that in some cases we have "N°1" and in some others "No1! Our Google Business name for example has "N°1", facbook not (no special charakter allowed). Germanys most important site for listings: Gelbeseiten, doesn't even allow special charakters in brand names.... On which name should I focus to get all the business listings to have identical NAP informations? Does it even matter? Schould I focus on "STUDIO No1 - natürlich fit" or "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit"? Local Business Registered at not a real Address
Hi, I am working on local SEO for a client of mine and was interested to hear what will be recommended in this case: My client registered his business in a NYC address, for his own business needs. Can I use this address as a second location for the business? There is a secretary taking care of ALL the businesses listed there, but is not a location that services customers. We don't service customers on site at any location because it's a pickup business to begin with, but we do have a fully functional office in NJ Please don't dismiss this right away, it was registered in NYC and not in NJ and all our information on the web cites this address over our NJ one (obviously i'm working on promoting our NJ one, but that's nowhere to be found on the web).

Local sites to make sure I'm listed in - which ones?
I'd love to know what sites this community deems most important when looking at whether my business & site are listed there. I know the obvious - Google Places, Yahoo Maps, Bing Local, Yelp. Foursquare. What others do you consider to be "mission critical" to the general market? Thanks!
