Embedding Youtube Video Problem
-
I'm under the impression that when working with WP, it's best to embed videos from youtube rather upload your own video. However, I really don't like the video previews that come at the end of video if it's embedded from you tube. Is there a way to "turn that off" so the video just ends without previewing all the other videos?
Thanks,
Ruben

Great, thanks so much Oren!

Yup! When you're in the Share > Embed on a YouTube video there's a check-box option that reads " Show suggested videos when the video finishes". It's there automatically, but if you uncheck it then the code YouTube generates for you won't have suggested videos at the end for your embed.

Best way to optimize a real estate subdivision video
Hi All, My thoughts on the best way to do this would be to create a video of a subdivision but walking through it, and speaking on the high points of the subdivision, maybe in a condo subdivision where the floor plans are very similar, I would take a tour of the floor plan (probably needs to be a separate video wouldn't you think?). Does google pick up on my voice and can tell what I am saying? So if I were to speak a good bit on the subdivision and what it entails, it's amenities, etc, Google would know it's a relevant video? Any other tips besides a good description and a good title? I know I'm writing for people and conversions and not for SEO. I get that. Thank you and any help would be appreciated!

YouTube Channels - Geotargeting - UK & US specific YT channels (but with identical videos)
Can you have one for each region such as Uk & US like you might with FaceBook etc: I know its a good idea for Geo-targeting reasons to have country specific social pages to promote country specific websites (i.e. UK FaceBook for .co.uk website and US Facebook for .com site etc), does the same apply to YouTube ? Does YouTube allow this (since videos will be effectively the same on both channels) ? I would hope so since say if you wanted to exploit annotated links to the main site from the videos then you would want the US viewer following a link to a US product page not a UK page and vice versa ? Many Thanks Dan

Best Way to Promote Self Hosted Videos?
We are soon to launch 25 short videos on one of our websites. They are a little bit different and I think they have a particularly good chance of going viral. The videos will be scattered over the website on our actual sales pages (not tucked away on our blog). We are hoping (expecting) that customers will click on them and subsequently share them mainly due to the surprise / fun factor. I've got a lot of experience promoting our (linkbait) blog posts which usually get between 10,000 and 100,000 hits via social media blogs, however, I have no experience promoting video. We will do the offsite social blog promotions as normal, however, my two main concerns are: 1. I'm unsure how best to use the social buttons (facebook like/share tweet and G+). As I understand it (I could very much be wrong), I can either embed the social buttons on the videos so that they are easily shared across facebook etc... or I can make the the social button make the user 'Like' / 'Share' the page that the video is on. I assume that the latter option is better for website promotion but maybe not good for people sharing the video on Facebook etc. some of the videos do not have pride of place on our pages. An explanation or examples on the best option would be appreciated. 2. Should we hold off from putting the videos on YouTube until the website has earned some of the juice first? Or are we missing out on and opportunity by not offering all avenues at once? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated too! They will hopefully be up and running by the end of the month so I'll come back and let you know how it went. Thank you for your time guys and gals! Richard (Moz Customer 2391745) PS. If it is of interest we are using JW Player

Benefits and cons of hosting video content vs hosting via youtube
Hi if a site is hosting its own videos (not embedding them on youtube) is there less benefits then getting youtube to host it, and then embedding the youtube video. For instance: For benefits such as building channel authority, easy to rank the video in the search engines hosted on youtube, better opportunity to increase visitors and traffic and higher chance for the video to spread and rank for the keyword when hosted on youtube. What do you guys think?

Problems with Google Analytics social tracking
Hi folks, Any GA experts out there available to help with a social tracking problem we've got? In short a client is using a ShareThis plugin, but the data we're seeing in GA doesn't correlate at all with the share counts showing on the plugin. Huge discrepancies in fact. Could do with someone taking a look at the page and seeing what part of the tracking code we need to update/fix. We'll make it worth your while. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks! Matt.

Youtube and SEO
Hello, For a game site I would like to use Youtube for SEO purposes. And I need a little advice on this. How would you use these video's without spamming? There are a lot of tactics to use Youtube. Create channel and put your desired url in the profile (link back to your site), Put your desired url in in the description of the video (link back to your site), Put the created youtube video also on your own site to drive traffic to youtube, and back. And get views. Put a created channel on your own site to drive traffic to youtube, and back. And get views. Other tactics I don't know.... Can someone advice me what tactics I can use without spamming, I'm afraid that if I use combinations of the above mentioned tactics I get an unnatural linkprofile.... Thank you in advance. Regards, Thomas

Youtube SEO: Does your channel name / user name matter?
My predecessor left me a gift of what is arguably the worst kind of Youtube channel name: Our company's name condensed to an acronym with some additional gibberish that may or may not have meant something to her. In short: Our channel name will never be searched for, will never provide any ranking boost. Now our Youtube success has been very marginal so far: 31 subscribers, 7,300 video views. Given that situation, should I seriously consider scrapping my channel and starting something new with a keyword targeted channel name? Or does channel name matter so little that I should hold on to my 7300 video views?

YouTube Views?
Does anyone have any guesses on how YouTube views are counted? Are views unique or can a single individual view a clip multiple times? I have also heard rumor say that AUTOPLAY views from your profile page do not count.
