Javascript with Responsive Web Design

The company I work for are looking to go responsive which is high up the list on our development plans. Further on down the development plan they want to add more javascript into the website. Is this recommended as we plan to go responsive ?

Going responsive is the way to go if you ask me and most other SEO's out there.
I'm not sure i fully understand your question though.Responsive design doesn't have any issues with Javascript in most cases. It would depend a lot on what the Javascript would try to do. As Andy has stated above Google can now read and execute AJAX and Javascript which is great.
The only thing you should be careful is when implementing more Javascript is whether the website will still function as expected on devices/browsers that don't (fully) support Javascript. There are simple fallbacks and such so that all of your users get served great content and not just the ones with the most modern devices and browsers.

A lot depends on what they intend to do with the Javascript, but this is pretty much commonplace today and should pose no problems.
I use responsive single page themes for my sites, and they are rank well - plenty of funky stuff going on in those as they are parallax designs.

We redesigned our website, make it responsive and page views tanked. What happened?
Last year, we redesigned our site and made it responsive. Our page views only grew by only 3% (the previous year they grew by 40%). If we exclude homepage views from our calculations, we get a drastically different picture-- and see over 30% growth for both total and unique pageviews. Any thoughts?

Should I Use An Animated Javascript Responsive Site
Hi, hope someone might be able to help me with this. I am setting my son up with a website for his small painting and decorating company. However, I am a wordpress stalwart and he has seen a theme which is a javascript animated responsive theme from template monster. Its not my choice just he is adamant that he wants it. However, I am slightly concerned that Google cannot index as well with these kind of sites as they would with a standard HTML site. I would be grateful if someone could confirm if they can be indexed etc. The content appears in what I can only describe as lightboxes. Thanks

Web traffic tanked, not Penguin nor Panda...I am stumped...
I have had my current website for several years now, and traffic has been slowly building. 2010 = 49 hits a day, 2011 = 71 hits a day, 2012 = 157 hits a day. I target local traffic and local keywords around by business. I have kept up with SEO changes, using Facebook, social media, updated tags, and kept content fresh, added more galleries images, Auth tags & markup. I have 301 older sites that I have run in the past. Then early this spring everything dropped, slowly but surely, now I'm at 90 hits a day SERPS for my main phrase "boudoir photography" us at less than 50 according to MOZ. I have been watching the new Algo updates, and never had any issues because I don't spam article marketing, I don't buy links, I try to keep content fresh, I don't use directories...I designed the site for PEOPLE not SEO. I get major press about once to twice a year, newspapers still don't get links though.. grrrrr I get natural links through gallery shows, events, local blogs, art shows... So I thought it might be over the year I have slowly added too many less than 100 word pages? Media, Bio, Art I combined all into one page. One page with 300+ words VS 3 pages of 100 words. I did a 301 several pages and trimmed my menu down from 11 to 8 to help everything look cleaner and more eye pleasing...I started asking my friends/clients/collaborators for more links with no link text so they are natural...& not just "boudoir photography" Traffic is still dropping... Feedback on a banner design
I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys regarding some banner redesign we are working on for our website. We are currently using the blue one, but we werent happy with the logo we had of the hat and hands shaking. So once we started working on a new logo, that logo doesnt match at all with the current design so we were messing around with the banner and came up with these ideas. Turning my Design Business site into a site to promote SEO
I need advice on retooling my website for my SEO biz. I have shifted my business model from graphic designer who does websites, to "internet marketing consultant who does graphics too". My main website and domain name is over 10 years old, so I've made the decision to keep it, even though it has no keywords in the name. The name works well for the new business, otherwise. The site has a PR3 and I rank well for small business advertising terms, which gets me graphic design business. I intend to keep doing graphic design, but that is a smaller part of my income. I had considered making 3 satellite sites with keyword domain names to cover my offerings of graphic design SEO, website development, and internet marketing. But am leaning against it for several reasons (that all of us SEO's know) but mainly the fact that I cannot keep up with both working for my clients and blogging on multiple sites and link building for multiple sites. So my question is (you knew there was one coming, right?), what is the best approach to building categories of web development, internet marketing, and SEO into my existing graphic design/advertising oriented website? This is slightly embarrassing to ask as an SEO, but given the multiple approaches possible, and knowing the importance of doing it right the first time, it's best to get an consensus perspective on the BEST approach. My main concerns are the navigation system and the links from the homepage into the site. I have too many pages I've identified as essential to link off of the home page and navigation menus? (Website development, social media marketing, link building, keyword research, pay per click, online advertising, graphic design, brochures, catalogs, Logos, Branding, SEO, keyword research etc.) I've always tried for the ratio of one link off of any page for every 100 words of content. Do I create a home page that is of monster proportions? Do I just have the 4 basic areas linking off the home page then create a "landing zone" of 4 folders and create down from that? I am concerned about URL length as I go deeper with that approach. Or, does it make more sense to have a dozen second-level pages, and not link them all off the home page, and build from beneath (and relying on external juice). Next issue is the nav system. It will be huge. Am I best off just keeping it to 4-6, and creating subnavigation on everypage within the site according to section (PITA)? I've read dozens of blog opinions on how much nav systems do or do not hurt link juice. I've always thought footer links were right next to worthless to pass any juice, but given this situation, does it make sense to make a footer link for each major page (about 20)? Thanks for your opinions.
