Landing Page Conversion

Hi,
I'm having a few issues with my landing page conversion. I have followed several guides found on this site (especially the unbounce.com ones) but what'ever I try my landing page CRO doesn't seem to increase.
the landing page in question is http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk/find-driving-test-cancellations.
I'm getting traffic to my landing page solely through PPC traffic from Google. My stats are rough as follows:
Arrive at landing page - 100% (obviously)
Click through to buy now page - 15-20%
Actually complete the buy now process - 1%Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%. It seems odd to me that my highly targeted ad campaign and landing page are convertign so badly compared to the less atrgeted organic search traffic and homepage.
Have you got any ideas why this might be occurring and also any tips on how I can improve the conversion rate for my product?

This is certainyl the type of feedback I was after. Having revisited the homepage and landing pages it nwo seems obvious that the landing page doesn't give enough detail about the product.
I've been toying with the idea of removing the video for a while, as I'm not sure (in it's current state) it adds much value. Do you have any examples of videos that you consider to be "dyanmic enough to whip out your credit card"?
I will certainly test out some of the other elements you've pointed out.

PPC keyworsd are the same as the organic keywords. More than 95% of my total traffic comes from the keywords "driving test cancellations". this is split between PPC and organic in an 80/20 ratio.

I agree with others, on landing page my eyes fixed on this
"Find driving test cancellations fast" i did not understand what it ment,"how to get an earlier test" is more descriptive
but what i want to know is the keywords used in pcc, are they direct keywords or are they keywords they need conversion to your product
Why not send pcc to home page?

I would get straight to the point and move the license field right on the first landing page. You're creating additional step and giving people a chance to give up. Testing different page versions will be the only way to tell for sure.

Agree with Shailendra Sial - the home page is more convincing to me.

Home page clearly explains process (the landing page focuses on the benefits, but it wasn't clear to me exactly what this was or how it worked.).

Home page is simple and the graphic elements make everything stand out. To me, the landing page is a little crowded and sections seem to blend in with each other ...
- Trust signals more prominent on the home page. I didn't notice the "100% guarantee" at first on the lander ... or the form when you click through, because it's in the upper right and the white-on-light green at the bottom of the page. On the home page it's right in the middle of the page and the green header text and icon make it stand out more. At least, to me.
- The first CTA on the lander appears a little bit "lost" under the checkmarks. You're only asking for one piece of information, I'm thinking why even make them click through to a second page?
- Re the video: I run FF with Flashblock so it doesn't load and run immediately for me (another, albeit small, demographic to consider besides the proxied users). When I played it, it not only drew my eyes away from the benefits list and the CTA but the video itself didn't feel dynamic enough to capture my attention and make me want to whip out a credit card. Maybe the video should be an optional "See how it works" link?
No concrete answers, but a few things you can test - hope this helps!

People (like me) accessing it behind a firewall can't see the YouTube video.

Testimonials are good but i feel they are not adding much value and eating up the precious real estate of the page. I would prefer something like this http://www.sap.com/sme/solutions/businessmanagement/businessone/index.epx

Thanks. Are there any specific factors that you feel are missing from landing page. How could I increase user confidence? Was there anythign on the other pages of the site that made you feel more comfotable?

I believe that the content on your landing page is not very convincing. When i landed on this page i was not very sure about your service but when i went to the Home page and browsed through the pages, i was bit comfortable. I find your Home page better than the landing page in question.

Individual statistics (not aggregated) for 'local pack' and 'organic search results' when both on the same page
Hi, For a particular keyword combination we show up on the local pack but also on the organic search results on the 1st page. I have never been able to find out what the CTR, #clicks, conversions for this two different kinds of positions are individually. The aggregate figures I can find out in Google Search Console / Analytics, but I would like to know on an individual level as I am testing out different things. With the statistics on Google My Business I can't get along actually...no CTR as far as i know. Any hint? Cheers, Cesare

Experiences Tracking Phone Call Conversions?
Tracking conversions via phone call can be challenging. The Adwords phone ads only register a conversion if someone clicks on the phone number from their mobile phone. In many cases a landing page on a website has a lead/contact form AND a phone number displayed. The user calling that number would not be registered as a conversion unless you setup multiple virtual forwarding phone numbers for prominent keywords, ad groups and/or campaigns. This can be costly for smaller advertisers. Has anyone done or know of any empirical data on the average percentage of leads generated via phone call versus online form on a landing page. I know it can vary from business type to business type (and the form layout itself will have a modest effect.) More specifically I'm interested in the professional business services industry such as Engineering, Surveying, Commercial Real Estate, Accounting, etc. So for example if you conversion rate for online form submission on a landing page is 3%, and your phone number is prominently displayed, what would be a realistic ballpark estimate for the actual conversion rate including phone calls? 25% more? 50% more? Double? "Ballpark" is the keyword here. Just seeing if anyone has measured this and what their results were.

Conversion Rate - site feedback
Hi We gave a website a bit of a facelift last nov with the aim of increasing its position within Search Engines and getting it to begin making sales. The site: www.funkyfootstools.com is now moving in the right direction for its keyphrases, footstools and ottomans although it still needs some work. The issue I have is that from the visitors that come to the site, the stats prove they have a look around, they are just not purchasing - I am not sure if this is because of the layout, ie. usability or if there is something else. How to improve Time to First Byte? Page Load Speed
I am working with a ecommerce site that is having major issues with their load speed. The ttfb is...wait for it...7911 ms. I am not even sure where to start with this issue. If you have any recommendations, it would be appreciated. Is it the clients servers that are slow? They have went through multiple redesigns and have some code that could probably be deleted but I don't think it would make it that slow.

Mile long pages with calls to action
Do these mile-long pages with a call to action at the bottom really produce more conversions? For example, see http://www.keywordelite.com/. Has anyone A/B tested this format vs. breaking up the content into tabs or some other format with multiple pages? Personally, these turn me off as they seem disorganized, they take forever to read, and they always sound like scams.

Conversion optimization with Optimizely, impact on SEO
I am looking into signing up with www.optimizely.com for conversion testing. They put scripting on my site which will then redirect half of my site visitors to an alternate home page. The site I want to test on is ranking quite well with Google and I do not want to hurt my rankings. And with this set up,what Google will think is my home page is not and so I am essentially sending visitors to a different page than Google reads as my home page in source code. So, my concern is whether this will have a negative impact on my SEO rankings to redirect 50% of site visitors to a different page using this testing tool? I would use Google Web Site Optimizer, but many of my sites are in Wordpress and it seems that Wordpress and web site optimizer are not so compatible. Advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Robert

Page Title Tags - SEO vs CRO ?
Hi everyone, Thanks to what seems to be a recent(ish) algo change in Google, some of our more targeted deeper pages are ranking for search terms where before only our homepage would rank. This is of course great however I am a little worried that some of the page titles of our internal pages are a little short, for example our main departments (we are an ecommerce store) are titles 'Department Name | Liberty Games' so for example 'Pool Tables | Liberty Games'. I have heard varying reports on what to do with the title tag, I have heard to keep the most relevant keywords to the left of the tag, which we have done, I have also heard that shorter is better. I am just a bit concerned that our tags are looking a little stumpy in the serps alongside other results which are longer (although admittedly a bit keyword stuffed). So (eventually) my question is, will short titles harm my click-through rate ? but are shorter titles better for SEO ? If longer is better are there any recommendations about what I could add to these titles that could potentially help click-throughs and natural rankings ? Many thanks, Stuart
