Regarding Avoiding Keyword Self-Cannibalization
-
I ran some of my pages through the 'on-page report card' and one thing that kept popping up was to Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization.
I thought the best SEO practice was to have anchor text at the end of your article that matched your target keywords. Is this not accurate? Please let me know the best practice so I can make sure my pages are all optimized correctly. Thanks.
Here is an example:

It's good to have internal links through-out the body copy (not too many though) as long as they point to relevant pages within the site... just not using the anchor text of the keyword for the page you're on... if that makes sense
-
ok, i see your point....should there be an internal link in the last sentence or did i dream that was good practice? thanks for your advice!
-
If, through your on and off-page SEO your telling Google that page x is relevant for keyword y, then the last thing you want to do is link out of that page with keyword y as the anchor text.
If you think about it, it's confusing for the search engine... everything your telling it is that for keyword y, see page x. Then, on page x, you have a link which says, actually, see page z for keyword y. You're passing it on to a different page for that keyword through using it as anchor text.
Hope that helps

Is There a Tool to Link Moz Keyword Rankings With Google Adwords Campaigns?
I wanted to know if there is a tool or other way to automatically link my Moz keyword rankings with my Google Adwords account for the purpose of allowing me to "pause" Adwords campaigns for keywords for which I rank well in the SERP's and to "activate" Adwords for keywords for which I do not rank well. Since these rankings can change from week to week, it would be great to be able to turn on and off Adwords for specific keywords depending upon my rankings that week.

Keyword difficulty always high
HI there, I'm new here and am just getting used to the keyword difficulty tool. I've noticed that just about every keyword phrase I type in, including ridiculous ones such as "perspex underpants" or "guy debord's shoes" all have a difficulty well over 50% and many over 60%. It makes little difference what my phrase is. Am I doing something wrong perhaps? How am I to interpret this result? It would seem to suggest that It is always very hard to rank, even for a rare and ridiculous phrase.

What is the easiest way to track historical ranking across keywords?
I could not find a way to look at past data dynamically via the SEOmoz interface which would be an amazing feature. For example, people able to change the time period like in Google Analytics to see past results. Has someone developed an excel template to keep track of this data historically if this cannot be done within SEOmoz itself?

Using MOZ Keyword Rankings with Google Analytics in Excel to track paid keywords
Hi, I sorted my keywords in GA from highest incoming traffic to lowest, exported it and then imported these 280 or something keywords into SEO Moz. The problem is, it appears that SEO Moz Keyword Rankings tool pulls traffic data (in the traffic column) only for NON-PAID traffic ... So what I'm seeing is that keywords that brings A LOT of traffic to my site (because of AdWords) sometimes have 0 of traffic in SEO Moz, because I'm on page 3 of SERP and I literally got no non-paid traffic that week. The thing is: I want to improve my rankings for keywords that I'm already performing well, even if they are paid keywords, because they already bring me a lot of traffic to my website. The way this is working is not helping me out, because when I sort by the traffic column very important keywords end up in the last place for me. Questions: Whey does SEO Moz pull traffic data from non-paid keywords only ? Shouldn't be at least an option for this or I'm missing something here ? While they don't change it, any Excel Gurus could help me how to export SEO Moz ranking data, import it on Excel and MERGE a new "paid traffic" column that I export from Google Analytics ? How to assing each keyword line the paid traffic value I'm getting from GA ? Thanks ! Felipe
