Separate Page for each Keyword - doesn't it sound to be a dead tactic?
-
Hi everyone,
I wonder what you think about a strategy of creating new separate pages for each targeted keyword?
Option 1. Something like this:
website.com/keyword-1
website.com/keyword-2
...
website.com/keyword-100I think it is better to have all the keywords grouped and target pages for the groups instead of individual keywords.
Option 2. Something like this:
website.com/group-1
website.com/group-2
...
website.com/group-7What is the option you would choose?
Thanks & Regards.

I think that some grouping is good. It's likely to make the Hummingbird happy, and it minimizes duplicate content issues.
But the keywords in the group need to synonyms, or nearly so.
I recently combined two separate pages that used to be focused on "clothes drying rack" and on "laundry drying rack". To the customer, these words were interchangeable. Afterwards the new combined page read better to the visitor and it made the site navigation more logical. Still waiting to see what it does for the ranking...
But I wouldn't combine "soccer ball" and "volley ball" - even though they look the same and kids may use them interchangeably. People interested in one are not interested in the other...

Penalty for on-page optimizing too many pages?
Hey in the process of building a new site in the fitness niche - targeting keywords such as: <colgroup><col width="387"></colgroup>

| how to lose lower belly fat | All these keywords get decent search volume. My question, alot of the content for these keywords would be similar for example - "how to get a flat stomach", "how to lose love handles" and "how to get skinny" would pretty much have similar content. I could build a single page for all these keywords but i loose all the ranking benefits from doing on-page optimization such as creating a page for each of these keywords and optimizing it for each of these keywords (e.g. putting the keyword in the URL and Title) But if i build individual pages, to me it doesn't look natural optimizing multiple pages for the keyword terms, plus i loose the benefits of building a single page (e.g. less costly, not as much outreach activity required, etc) You could argue however that if you create individual pages for each of these keywords you are addressing the query directly as theres a slight difference between "how to lose love handles and how to get a flat stomach. But i guess thats up to google to decide. So how would you approach this? Cheers, Chris0 -
Specific Keyword Ranking Advice
Hi Folks, We're trying to optimize the page (http://alabu.com/goat-milk-soap/) for the keyword "goat milk soap". Our page used to rank #1 before Panda (actually our home page did, not the page I'm trying to optimize on now). Now we're around rank 25. I've followed all the guidelines for on-page optimization I know, and I've done everything I can think of. We're currently executing a link building campaign but that obviously takes time. Does anyone have any advice? Is there anything else I can do to improve our ranking? Thanks, Hal

How should I use keywords in a sentence?
The keywords that I target are phrases that wouldn't ever be used in a sentence... Ex: Stained Concrete Virginia My question is... Is it better to use the phrase, even though its odd? Ex: Stained Concrete Virginia is a great product Or is it better to make it a natural sentence? Ex: Stained Concrete in Virginia is a great product? Im trying to find a way to use my keyword phrases at least 4 times in the content of the pages...but it seems difficult if I have to use such an odd phrase. Thanks! Tim

Two for the price of one: Can I rank for multiple keywords when only targeting one keyword?
If I'm optimizing for a specific keyword, is it accurate to assume that by ranking for that specific keyword that I will also be able to rank for similar or root keywords merely by ranking for the original keyword? For example, if I'm targeting 'free online bucket list' is it safe to assume that I will also be able to inadvertently rank for 'online bucket list' or 'free bucket list'? Can I assure clients of this? Or if I'm targeting 'Colorado grocery store' should I also naturally rank for 'grocery store Colorado' and not need to make both of these my targeted keywords?

Are the Volume numbers from the Keyword Difficulty Tool identical to Google Adwords Keyword Tool?
I use the Keyword Difficulty Tool daily. Because of the troubles with Google's API I can no longer see the search volumes. I still want to use the tool for difficulty numbers because I think this is a much better number than the Google Adwords Competitive bar. If I use the Adwords keyword tool for volume numbers, will that be sufficient? Is this the same as what Moz usually provides? If no, where is the best place to gather volume numbers? Thanks!

Why is Adwords Keyword Tool showing zero search volume for popular keywords?
When I try to ascertain search volume for the the words "pills" "drugs" and "medicine" it is showing "-" for all types of search volume, including phrase, exact, and broad. Why is this?
