Double, Triple Brand In Title ?
-
Hey All,
Quick question regarding have your brand in your title 2+ times unnaturally; is this not keyword stuffing?
Example: BRAND product this that | BRAND - for almost every product?
Other titles are BRAND product | BRAND Keyword | Brand. - looks like a CMS issue.
Going through all of a clients titles and want your opinion!!
Thanks !

To add to what the others have written:
Consider writing your title tags for the users as well. What does your page content offer them? Ranking is only 1/2 of the battle. You need a snippet that gets people to click your result as well.

Hey Dylan,
You now have 512 pixels to play with for your page title. This equates to around 60 characters, depending on the characters used and how wide they are.
Screaming Frog Spider offer a free download that will allow you see how many pixels your titles are.
to answer your other question, yes, that is overly spammy. I always like to follow the simple rule of
<important keywords=""><expansion words="" phrase="">|<brand></brand></expansion></important>

Check Dr. Pete's recent post about the new page title guidelines: http://moz.com/blog/new-title-tag-guidelines-preview-tool
The max length is based on the pixel width, not the number of characters, so you need to be careful with those long titles.
On the other hand, repeating the brand name 2-3 times is spammy. I don't recommend it, because it will have a negative impact on click-through-rate.

Which keyword for title
I'm trying to figure out what to use for my title text. It's for a structural steel fabrication company. Adwords has the average monthly searches for "structural steel" and "steel fabrication" identical at 5,400. It has "structural steel fabrication" at 390 which I get that since its longer and a little more specific will have less searches. My question is if I make the title "structural steel fabrication" does google just see it as 1 big keyword or will it rank for "structural steel" and/or "steel fabrication"? What would any of you go with here? All 3 keyword strings make sense for the person seeing the title. Thanks for any advice you can give, Clay

Title Tags
Hi, Say I am going after the keyword "example location". Is it better to have the Title say "Example Location" or can I say, "Example is the best in location" and still get the same keyword results? What about "Example location, location, location", would each "location" carry with it the "example". Hopefully that was not too confusing. Thanks,

Long tail traffic only to category, should we make the title keyword rich?
Hello, Some of my client's internal categories only rank for long tail terms. Should we make the title keyword rich or should we stick to one very small keyword phrase and use that as the title. Also, is there any reason to write a full 500 words for category descriptions on weak, internal categories(PA 15)? Thanks

Title Tag & Ranking Improvement....
Hi I have a dilema that I could do with some help with please. I am working on a site and its home page is ranking on the second page of google position 2 (12) for a term such as [Portrait Photographer London] The title tag I am using for this homepage is "Portrait Photographer | Clients Brand Name" ( which does NOT include the word "photography / photographer") The reason why I used this term for the home page is eventually I would like to rank in the top 3 (I'm ambitious) for [Portrait Photographer] so I left out the location on the home page as I have an about us page where I have the title tag "Portrait Photographer London | Clients Brand Name" this is currently ranking on page 3 position 3 (33) for a term such as [London Portrait Photographer] I'm wondering if including the location would help move my client up any? So it would be: "Portrait Photographer London | Clients Brand Name" and the keyword I want move up for is [Portrait Photographer London] Hope this makes sense

Homepage Title
What would be the best Title of your Homepage if your top 3 keywords would be: taxi service Seattle (5400 exact searches) Seatle taxi (4400 exact searches) Seattle taxi service (1900 exact searches) Would you go for all of them or just the one with more searches? I guess you can target them all on one page being almost the same but what is the best strategy to apply in this case to get the most out of it? Do you take into account the broad numbers of searches which are different from the exact numbers? Tools I used:Google sktool Thanks for reading!
