What is the best tool or method to locate good keywords?
-
Hi to all,
So as I am working towards the best possible site that I can build, what is the best tool or method to find keywords that people would search for that may line up with my website?
I have starting using google keyword research tool, or at least I think that is what its called. Also I am using moz, but it shows bing result for traffic.
So I guess backing up, do you usually find the keywords with the largest traffic estimates, and then work those words into your web pages?
I know to build for people first, then search engines etc. But just curious what you do or use to get an idea on what keywords are popular.
Thank You

In addition to what has already been mentioned I look at Google trends and once the site is up and running, I use the webmaster tools>search traffic>search queries.
Many businesses will encounter seasonal variations in the product and service required. This will also need to be planned for and considered in content copy. Google trends can help identify these fluctuations and hot/cold spots.

Hi,
You haven't said if the site is for you or a client, but I usually ask the client for a list of keywords for their industry. Interestingly, these aren't necessarily the best keywords to use, as either some really obvious ones get left off, or they are so into "industry speak" that they forget what the ordinary man on the street would use to find them.
from there I would put that list of words into the google keywords planner tool. https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner
You could do with giving us more info though. Is this site local, or national, or international? That will determine how you use the tool.
Regardless, put in the keywords and "search for new key words and ad group ideas". From there you hopefully will end up with approx 800 keywords to start to work on. You can usually cut this down in half immediately as many of those words will be of little value.
As an alternative, go find your competitors web pages and see what keywords they are using (sometimes if they are dumb enough, they will have written them into the site - inspect the back end of the code by right clicking on the page and view page source).
Last thing I will say is if this don't scrimp on time allotted to keyword research. It's absolutely imperative that you get this right at this stage, as it will set the direction for how the website will look, and how you will run the site. My opinion is that the best keyword research brings the best results. I usually spend a couple of days (16 - 20 hours) at least before embarking on a new site.

Keywords with no search volume
Hi there! What are your thoughts on optimizing pages for keywords that have no search volume (using the Keyword Planner)? I'm not sure it should be done, since optimizing for keywords that no one searches for is kind of useless, right? Or should I do it hoping that sometime in the future the keyword will have a surge on searches? Thanks!

New Rules Keywords of Google Panda
Hello Everyone,.. I want to ask regarding my confusion of Keywords. How does search engine see the keywords? and find the website that is matched with the keywords. So this is what I mean: When I type keywords "luxury dog clothes" at google, then the website which is showed up, is nothing using keyword of "luxury dog clothes". But then appeared websites which in bold words are "designer dog clothes", "dog clothes", "designer dog" . Can anyone please help me to explain why Google shows the website which is not identical matched keywords "luxury dog clothes" that I am looking for? I read at the beginer guide SEO, that the good keywords must be placed at the front of the title then in the body description, placed no more than 2 times. But in fact, for the example above, there is nothing words of "luxury dog clothes" placed at the title and in the body description. This makes me very confuse how to determine the right keyword for mine, especially the long tail keywords. Thank you everyone. Hopefully you all can help me to explain as I am a newbie at SEO.

Hi all, My website is www.bruadair.com which is a luxury 7 bedroom villa in Barbados primary suited for large groups and weddings , using googles adword keyword tool i have been trying to establish some long tail keywords that i could include in my website. However i am finding it extremely difficult to find any long tail keywords (such as: Luxury 7 bedroom Villa Barbados ) that are receiving any local or global searches, it seems that there are only extremely competitive keywords receiving traffic. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can find effective keywords? With this type of website is it really as likely to be able to rank high due to the pure amount of keyword competition? I would really appreciate any help given as i am really struggling with my keyword research 😞 Thank you very much!!

Keyword with or without stress?
hi to everyone, I'm new here I'm doing some research for keywords related to sofa in brazil. Portuguese use lot of stress in writing words. there are many important keywords that should be written with the stress. For example: sofás but I'm measuring many more researches for the same word without stress (see attachment). This is the same for many other key phrases with 2 or 3 words. in 90% of the case, key phrases without stress has many more researches Now I have 3 questions: results are very similar for these two keys. are really two different keys or are they the same for google? what number to keep for total search? the higher? the sum between the two? what keywords I have to use in the pages? "sofás" is the correct one, but "sofas" has many more research? U1sYe.png

Duplicated string in the google keyword tool
Is it possible that the google keyword tool is wrong? It's the first time I realize that for many keywords the google keyword tool reports a big volume of searchs for a keyword as if it were tiped two times. In some cases, as the attached image, it's the same volume, in other cases is even bigger the one with the duplicated string What should I think of that, that, "champagne champagne" has really 4 million searchs? if champagnechampagne.com were an available domain name, should it be a good idea for a microsite? Thank you! t9Jwn.png
