Is my Structured Data working?
-
Hello Everyone,
I had previously added Structured Data for reviews for my product pages, which worked, and has slightly bumped up CTRs.
Now, I am trying to get dates and locations to show up in the SERPs (Products are classes). Google's Structured Data Testing Tool shows that the data is being read without any errors, but I cannot seem to get them to show up in the preview (or actual SERPs).
If anyone could take a look and let me know if there is anything obvious I missed, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Close... you still have them all grouped into 1 event though.
You need to remove the [itemscopeitemtype="http://schema.org/Event"] from the and move it to the level (and repeat for each )

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input. I thought the problem might actually be tied to multiple locations having multiple events, so I made it multiple locations each with one date:
But no dice. We used to generate preview pages for each date and location for each product, but it generated tons of almost identical content. Do you have any examples of website that have done this successfully?
Anyone have advice on how to get dates and locations to show up in the SERPs?
Thanks

Hi
After looking at your site it would seem that you would be better off providing preview pages for each drop down location and even the date. This might mean lots of extra work to begin with, but would offer much better targeting and might add another beneficial layer of user experience.
I am fairly new to the application of structured data, so seeing what Oleg has already said is really helpful. Please share your results.

Doesn't look right...
Each event should only have 1 start date... looks like you grouped all of them together.
Look at this example and mimic it for each event date:
<divclass="event-wrapper"itemscopeitemtype="http: schema.org="" event"=""><divclass="event-date"itemprop="startdate"content="2013-09-14t21:30">Sat Sep 14
<divclass="event-title"itemprop="name">Typhoon with Radiation City
<divclass="event-venue"itemprop="location"itemscopeitemtype="http: schema.org="" place"=""><spanitemprop="name">The Hi-Dive
<divclass="address"itemprop="address"itemscopeitemtype="http: schema.org="" postaladdress"=""><spanitemprop="streetaddress">7 S. Broadway<spanitemprop="addresslocality">Denver,
<spanitemprop="addressregion">CO
<spanitemprop="postalcode">80209<divclass="event-time">9:30 PM
<spanitemprop="offers"itemscopeitemtype="http: schema.org="" offer"=""><divclass="event-price"itemprop="price">$13.00
<aitemprop="url"href="http: www.ticketfly.com="" purchase="" 309433"="">Tickets</aitemprop="url"href="http:></divclass="event-price"itemprop="price"></spanitemprop="offers"itemscopeitemtype="http:></divclass="event-time"></spanitemprop="postalcode"></spanitemprop="addressregion"></spanitemprop="addresslocality"></spanitemprop="streetaddress"></divclass="address"itemprop="address"itemscopeitemtype="http:></spanitemprop="name"></divclass="event-venue"itemprop="location"itemscopeitemtype="http:></divclass="event-title"itemprop="name"></divclass="event-date"itemprop="startdate"content="2013-09-14t21:30"></divclass="event-wrapper"itemscopeitemtype="http:>

Google Beacons - Is it working?
I hooked up our google beacon and I activated per google's instructions...but I can't tell if it is working or not. Does anyone know if there is a way to verify it is transmitting other than the confirmation page I got when I put in the validation code? Thanks! Ruben

Optimal URL Structure for a Multi-City Directory
I need help choosing the ideal URL structure for a multi-city directory. The current URL structure is /category which is okay because we are only in one geography. However, we're now expanding to other cities so we are reevaluating the best way of structuring the URL. The three options I have are: example.com/city/category Pro: Follows the user around with the city after the root (like language) Con: Possible short-term traffic loss. Build page authority on new URLs Pro: SEO Benefit for terms: {city category} example.com/city/ would have to be a URL and a general landing page. This would mean that /category would no longer exist example.com/category/city The website is currently set-up with /category but is now expanding beyond Toronto Pro: /category would still exist so no short-term SEO issues Pro: SEO Benefit for terms: {general category} example.com/category/ is already a URL and would display results based on proximity example.com/category (geo recognizes city) Pro: Clean URL Con: We're not Ticketmaster I was able to find major directory sites with very strong SEO doing it all three ways above. City First https://www.yelp.ca/c/toronto/restaurants https://angel.co/r/toronto/marketing/jobs https://www.redflagdeals.com/in/toronto/deals/c/cell-phones/ https://www.bizbash.com/new-york/venues Category First https://eventup.com/venues/new-york-ny/ https://www.yellowpages.ca/search/si/1/Restaurants/Toronto+ON https://www.weddingwire.ca/wedding-venues/ontario https://www.livenation.com/cities/130465/toronto-on No City in URL https://www.ticketmaster.ca/

GMB Listings: No customer actions data for the last week
The medical clinic listings I manage for a client are showing zero customer actions for the last week (since Oct. 9). Visit your website, request directions, calls -- all dropped to zero. Only the View Photos metric is continuing as normal. The same thing has happened to the "Where customers view your business on Google" and numbers from listings on search and on maps. This has happened across multiple (20+ so far that I've checked) listings. Has anybody else seen this?

For Google's Structured Data, should I change my listings from Product schema to Local Business schema?
I was reading Google's Structured Data spec, and I'm considering changing the schema of our listing pages from the Product schema to the Local Business schema. Is this a good idea? To give you a little more info, the pages that I'm classifying are listings for physical spaces that our website rents out for activities, such as meetings. Here's an example of a listing: https://www.peerspace.com/pages/listings/550ddcde2f352d0800fc186b Our goal is to add the proper schema.org tags to the page so that our spaces show up in local searches, such as "meeting space in San Francisco." The problem is that when we add location microdata (addressLocality, addressRegion, etc.) to our current "Product" schema, Google tells us that "Products" can't have a location. However, we aren't quite a "Local Business" either, since we don't publicly share our space's street addresses—only the space's neighborhood/city/state for privacy reasons. As a result, we get an error from Google's Structured Data Tool as a "Local Business" page because "streetAddress" is required for Local Businesses. Should we switch to the Local Business schema anyway, even though we get structured data errors for streetAddress? Or is it better not to include the location information in the microdata so that we don't have errors? Does Google penalize you for incomplete tags? Any input is appreciated!

Is there any data about how user interact with the local 7 pack listing, do they scroll past it or use it like a normal SERP ?
Does any one have any data about how users interact with the local 7 pack listings in regards to position to CTR ratios, do everyday users tend to scroll past it to the normal SERPs as they might do with adwords ads (as the local pack is formatted slightly different to normal SERPs) ? bMvtUSe.png

Structured Data in Google Webmaster Tools
Have noticed a significant drop in structured data items and pages on GWT in the last one week. We have not made any changes and can still see that we have the rich snippet implementation in place across our site. Has anyone else noticed this drop? What could be possible reasons for the same? On 8th July we had 646,801 items showing up on Structured Data, which dropped to 227,529 on 11th July and 66,161 on 14th July 2014!! TIA Asif
