Same Alt tag on the images

Can We have same alt tags on all the images? Below pages have images with same alt tag "astrologer Ravi sharma". I used name of the person on every image. before today, all images were shown in google images but today no image is there. any comment.

You are wasting a chance to get more text in your website, alt tags aren't worth much but all the same it a chance to get a keyword or relevant text in your site.
It may also be a bad signal to a search engine and they may no longer trust your alt tags when deciding what the image is about

William has given some great points - remember what alt tags are for: They are for screen readers which are normally used by impaired users so try to make them descriptive e.g "astrologer Ravi sharma in X paper" "astrologer Ravi sharma on the moon" etc. It could be Google has looked at your images and thought you're trying to be sneaky and use the alt tags for SEo advantages rather than help your users. Follow Williams advice and I'm very sure you will be great!

It's OK to have his name, just add more to it to differentiate the photos.

Every image on the website is having "Ravi Sharma" (name of the person). that's why i used his name on every image. Should i change the alt tag or only need to add description to the images?

I would tend to agree with William here. The objective of the alt tag is to help give context to the image if the image cannot be displayed. If you are able to describe the image in a way that relates to your post, you will be better off than trying to stuff keywords in the alt tag. If an image is related to the post, search engines (particularly google) should gain a contextual understanding which is better in the long run.
In my experience, I find that the more I try to "optimize images", the more unnatural they are. Again, we are trying to be natural and helpful.

Try to be more descriptive than that in the alt tags. Quickly describe what the image is about. You never want to duplicate alt tags on different images, because those images are not the same. Alt tags are there to describe the image in a short, concise way.

Still Need to Write Title & Description Tag?
My SEO has advised me that Google has stopped using title and description tags for search results and as such, it is no longer necessary to write specific title and description tags. I see that Yoast seems to pull text to create these tags and sometimes it looks like it reflects the best elements of the content, sometimes it does not. Should I be asking our SEO team to write dedicated title and description tags or is it best practices to leave it to the Yoast plugin? My SEO is of the opinion that writing these tags is not a productive use of time as Google will serve results based on the user inquiry rather than the content on his tags. It sounds logical but it would be reassuring to receive further confirmation of this. Thoughts?"

The website I'm working on has no canonical tags. There is duplicate content so rel=canonicals need adding to certain pages but is it best practice to have a tag on every page ?

Can the Alternate/hreflang tags harm SEO?
Hello, Recently one of my regional websites, targeted for Denmark (xxxx.dk (TLD)), received a manual penalty from Google, specified as “pure spam”. The reason for this (as I suspect) can be the fact that the Danish site’s content, is fully translated from English, on the main site (.com). To fix that problem with Google, I want to use the “alternate/hreflang” tags on both sites

URL’s (the main and the regional), before submitting it for a second review on WMT. Following this, I would like to ask you few questions: 1. Is there any RISK in using alternate tags between two sites (a “healthy” site to the one that got the penalty), Can it harm the SEO of the main site (.com)?

Best Practices for Homepage Title Tag
Hi, I would like to know if there is any update about the best practices for the homepage title tag. I mean, a couple of years ago, it was still working placing main keywords in the homepage title tag. But since the last google SERP update, the number of characters that are being shown were reduced, and now we try to work with 55 and 56 characters. That has reduced our capacity of including many keywords on the title tag. Besides, search engines are smarter now to choose the correct inner page to show in SERP. But I am wondering if the Homepage Title should have a branded orientation or should include main keywords, cause it is still working that strategy. I would appreciatte any update in this issue. Google shortens title tag for certain keywords
A friend of mine runs a website over at http://www.web-design-herefordshire.co.uk/ The keywords he is targeting web design hereford and web design herefordshire. When you search these terms (he's found on page 3 on google.co.uk) his title tag is shortened to web design hereford, Does google shorten these when the keyword being searched is the keyword in the domain? I've seen it on a few others.

Wordpress Tags vs. Categories(looking to restructure things)
Just looking for some advice on this topic. I know it's much debated but it seems the consensus is that having some broad categories and more defined tags is optimal. The issue with my site is that it is very broad in nature. We're profiling and interviewing all types of careers. The site is www.jobshadow.com for reference. Up until now I haven't used Wordpress Tags at all. I've just been using categories(i.e. 9-5 type jobs, salaried jobs, hourly jobs, jobs in medicine, etc). I've probably got way too many categories. They are being counted as links on every post page which pushes me way overboard on links per page. -Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on best practices for my site. -Also, none of the categories themselves are really pulling in any SEO traffic so switching those wouldn't be a big deal. Just looking for the best way to help users browse the site and the growing number of content. And rom what I hear Tags can pull in some random/long tail traffic pretty easily if done right.
