Anyone have experience with RISE awards?
-
We have had paid interns for years at our firm and now have begun doing code camps. As the result of these and attending STEM conferences, we have found an organization that really is helping a lot of lower socioeconomic kids get to College. I won't tout them yet, but they have a very good track record and I am a big skeptic of these type organizations. I want to know that the people who are supposed to be helped are getting that help and these people are delivering. On top of that they are the kind of people (those running the organization) that I never see in non profits. They are truly engaged, very bright and they worked their butts off.
Not all of their kids are STEM kids and we are wanting to create a bit of a sub group with them for kids who would have interest or whose interests can be stimulated in or for STEM educations.
Google seems to be very proactive with getting girls and minorities more interested in the STEM fields and I have to applaud them. They also do the RISE Awards and they seem to have a lot less of the reporting requirements that can bog down (and make entrepreneurs run) the process. Have any of you Mozzers got firsthand experience/knowledge re the RISE awards? We want to assist this group in applying for one and any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Can anyone share an example of a search strategy they've created?
New year, new plans. I'm currently working on outlining a search strategy for my company's marketing team. I'm primarily in charge of SEO but I'm working closely with our SEM and Content Marketing teams to build out a more holistic, integrated set of goals and initiatives for us all to work with. Does anyone have any good examples of a search strategy they've done in the past // a template they've worked with? I have a pretty good idea of what I want to include but would love to see how others have approached this + get some inspiration.

Anyone else want to add a webmaster tools category to Q&A?
This could be all inclusive of both Google and Bing (a la webmaster tools), or, add more specificity with two additional categories:

Anyone heard of Ross Carrel? or his products?
Hi, Has anyone heard of Ross Carrel? Is he a member here? His products seem useful but I can't help but feel like I am watching a TV commercial on Bargain TV when I see his videos on why I should join his community. Anyone a member of this community and use the products/service he offers? Any help would be great.

Good technical SEO resources for a newly hired front end dev who has no SEO experience
I am a SEO/product manager for a big online publisher. I work with several front end developers who have great technical and design skills, but zero SEO or social media knowledge. I end up answering a lot of SEO 101 questions and/or making them redo things with SEO and social media in mind. What are some good resources for them? I was already going to send them these SEOmoz links. http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/basics-of-search-engine-friendly-design-and-development http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/how-usability-experience-and-content-affect-search-engine-rankings Can anyone recommend other, more thorough, more technical reading and reference materials (print or online)?
