Better Conversions with Java Script Pop Up Form or with Independent Page (URL)?
-
Greetings MOZ Community?
I manage a commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com).
Visitors view listings (for example:http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings/303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf). If they want more details they click on the "Interested In This Space, Contact a Broker" button. They get directed to a contact us form like: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/contact-us?from_listing=303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf
We are redesigning this form. Remove much of the text and allowing the visitor to check questions pertaining to the property, like "Schedule a Tour", "Get Floorplans", "Details on Similar Space'.
Currently this conversion form is on its own URL, and as such has menus on top, which I am concerned could distract the visitor. Would we get better conversions if this form was a Java script pop up with no menus. That way there would be no distraction for the visitor and we would have a better chance of converting them. Any thoughts?
Also, we are using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track conversions. Would changing to a Java Script pop up form have any implications for tracking?
Thanks everyone!!! Alan

Yep, Bingo.

You should try A/B testing this change, so you know which is better! The best A/B testing provider out there is Optimizely. I can't speak more highly of their software and support. If you don't want to pay, Google Analytics has a built in testing tool called Experiments. Back when it was Google Website Optimizer, it was a far cry from Optimizely in terms of setting up and deploying experiments.

The best way to answer this is to test out both ways and track leads, conversions, etc from each group. I would have at least 1000 samples from each group if possible and then compute some statistics on it for statistical significance. Then, I would let the market tell me via conversions and leads as quantified by the statistics which one is better.
Every industry and niche is slightly different because you are dealing with a different type of customer. What works for a Pilates blog might not work for your type of customer.
Don't guess. Make a controlled test, quantify it then make the decision when the data is in. You will know what to do in short order. You could also use tools like CrazyEgg which track clicks on page, etc which may be helpful.

I'm a big fan of popup contact forms.. the user isn't taken to another page and everything else goes into the background. But you'd have to test both variations for yourself to see which converts better for your traffic.
In terms of tracking changes, you'd need to change it to an event (on submit) type goal.

We changed our domain, I used the move tool in Google Search Console and I am having our site redirected and go daddy, and now I spoke with someone who suggest we do a 301 redirect for all pages on our site and I’m not sure that’s the correct move.
We just changed our domain name after 15 years. when I bought the new domain name I called Go Daddy and they instructed me to contact my google G sweet admin account and change all of our emails over which I did and then I went into Shopify who is my host and changed my primary domain there and then I went back to Go Daddy and had my old website forwarded to my new site. since then there has been nothing but problems with Google. my product feed from my merchant center account has been suspended three or four times now, I tried to rename and move all of my Google accounts from my old domain to my new one, but I am not an SEO person... after making the changes I have started google chats with analytics department with the merchant center with Google as they all keep saying that it looks fine but I’m not convinced because the product feed keeps getting disapproved. So I posted an ad for help and the Guy I spoke with suggested I do a 301 redirect for every single page on my old site, But I’m concerned that might confuse things further? I’ve already started the move in Google Search console And in Shopify I added the old domain back into the domains section and am having it redirectEd that way too... I guess I’m just looking to know which way I should proceed, any and all advice is warmly welcome thank you in advance Maureen

Tracking Facebook Mobile Visits to Desktop Conversions?
Hi. If I set an ad in Facebook, I can obviously track visits, conversions and so on from that ad and see if they where mobile or desktop. However, how do I, if possible track a mobile visitor who the converts on a desktop? Eg. I go on XXX Facebook Ad on my mobile whilst in work, look around. Like what I see. Then I go home from work, open my laptopn and go on XXX website and send an email enquiry form in. Is this possible to track? Thanks

Contact form at the end of all posts
I notice a lot of sales blogs have contact forms at the end of all their posts. Can anyone give me some information on the effectiveness of this tactic? Case studies, examples, or your experience from adding contact forms and what it did to conversions? I imagine it would help increase conversions. It would reduce a step from moving to a new page, but might turn off some visitors? Any information would be appreciated.

How to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page?
hi, This is my first question in the forums and I'm looking forward to be part of a great SEO community. I was wondering ow to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page? I've been using Wordpress jetpack site stats for while, which shows great data like keywords used in google, landing page etc. But I would like to have access to the full path for each separate visitors (including their IP address and country is possible) to improve my website and conversions. Example: step 1: Visitor X types "seo" on Google step 2: visitor lands on my homepage step 3: visitor visits to order page and buys Is there such tool available as a Wordpress plugin? Or do I have to use Google analytics for this? thank you for your help, Marc

How to track PPC conversions?
I use both adwords and Microsoft Adcenter. I am looking to be able to track my conversions from each PPC site. I do not have a "Thank You" or "Check Out" page that I can tag because any sales that I make are through clicks on a link that goes offsite to an affiliate company that I receive commission from. However, the link on my site is a "Buy Now" button, so to get some idea of which source is giving me better conversions I'd like to know whether adcenter or adwords is sending more people that end up clicking this link. Canb anyone suggest a way or a program to set up in this manner? Thanks in advance for your help!
