Why am I getting all these duplicate pages?
-
This is going for basically all my pages, but my website has 3 'duplicates' as the rest just have 2 (no index)
Why are these 3 variations counting as duplicate pages?
-
Actually, canonical tags are the absolute last-ditch way of dealing with this issue.
The correct solution is to use 301-redirects to force all version of the URL except the primary to redirect to the primary (also called canonical) URL. Canonical in this instance just means the primary or most authoritative version of something. Nothing to do with the tags of the same name.
The only reason to use the rel=canonical tag for this is if you have absolutely no way to do it through 301-redirects. (For instance your host doesn't allow access to the .htaccess file and your DNS system doesn't allow it either.)
Use Travis's info below for exactly how to do this in .htaccess. There are also many other posts here in Q&A that address this if you want more reference points.

Your next question is; "Great, but how do I fix it?"
It looks like this particular detail was missed during server configuration. You would handle this with rewrites via .htaccess if you're using an Apache server. However, if you're unfamiliar with the file - proceed with caution - if you can't push and pull from a test environment for some reason. A little bit of white space or a syntax error can knock the site down until you find the error.
Otherwise, Ultimate Htaccess has just about everything you need to know. Here are the commands you will need. If you're using WordPress, make sure the redirects go before the section of your file that pertains to WordPress.

Technically all of these urls are different. A web server could return completely different content for all the urls above. When Google “canonicalizes” a url, pick the url that seems like the best representative from that set.

Hello W2GITeam and welcome to the world of SEO!
The problem you've described is covered in basic/fundamental SEO concepts. The specific topic to help you turn those 3 pages into a single, non-duplicate, indexed page is through Canonical tags.
Learn more about those tags and how they help suppress duplicate content from being indexed here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/canonicalization
That's plenty to get you started

Is one page with long content better than multiple pages with shorter content?
(Note, the site links are from a sandbox site and has very low DA or PA) If you look at this page, you will see at the bottom a lengthy article detailing all of the properties of the product categories in the links above. http://www.aspensecurityfasteners.com/Screws-s/432.htm My question is, is there more SEO value in having the one long article in the general product category page, or in breaking up the content and moving the sub-topics as content to the more specific sub-category pages? e.g. http://www.aspensecurityfasteners.com/Screws-Button-Head-Socket-s/1579.htm

Home Page Location Redirect
We have recently upgraded our Wordpress site to detect your local city and redirect to the proper location. Previously we had independent sites - for example, http://atlanta.styleblueprint.com is now http://styleblueprint.com/atlanta We've setup 301 redirects on all of the old site home pages. Now we have two issues: Moz will no longer crawl our domain. For two weeks now our campaign shows only four pages crawled None of our home pages show up in Google any longer for organic searches. We previously always ranked #1 for "styleblueprint" or "style blueprint" Does our new auto redirect mess things up? Or is this just a function of time until Google "learns" how to index our new site? All thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jay

Seomoz legacy pages?
Hello, I am finding that I miss several of the old seomoz sections. The legacy tools in particular like the visual website comparison. Where is that now? Also, where is the ongoing list of the top 100 sites? So much was lost in the shift to MOZ, I hope some of the good old stuff is still available. Thank you, Nolan

Duplicate page reported in Wordpress site, but I can't find it in All Pages list
In a crawl report a duplicate page content warning has been displayed. The two urls are 1. http://www.superheroes.com.au/shop
Moz Pro | | Andyfools
and
2. http://www.superheroes.com.au/shop/category/catalog/ It's a WordPress site and I cannot find the second page anywhere in the list of All Pages in the Admin (I want to add canonicalisation code) When I view the 2nd page and click Edit Page, it redirects to the 1st page. Any ideas where SEOMoz would be finding this 2nd page or how it might be being generated? (btw I didn't build this site) Thanks Simon0 -
SEOMoz Crawling Only 1 Page
I entered a new site into my dashboard 2 days ago - everything looked kosher, there were a few hundred pages crawled and a whole bunch of errors. I came back this morning to start work on the site and SEOMoz has crawled the site again, this time returning only 1 page and 0 errors. I haven't even logged in to the site since the first crawl, so I couldn't have broken anything. Has anyone seen this before?

On Page Analysis and Grading
I received an email that my on page analysis for my campaigns were completed. But when I click on the link there are no grades there. What does that mean? Another question on this topic....when your campaign is graded are pages graded on all the keywords in the campaign or is each keyword graded invidividually? Thanks!

Pages Crawled: 250 | Limit: 250
One of my campaigns says: Pages Crawled: 250 | Limit: 250 Is this because it's new and the limit will go up to 10,000 after the crawl is complete? I have a pro account, 4 other campaigns running and should be allowed 50,000 pages in total
