Why is my website embedded inside this Iranian one?
-
I just did a search for something and my own website tured up at 1, but this other wbsite turned up at 2 with what looked like my content http://sport.aliexirs.ir/ASTM-A-Plate-Grades-HIC.html. so I clicked on it and it is my website running inside a frame.
so what is this all about? Do I need to worry? And what should I do?

Hi,
Since an iframe is just a window into your site, it cannot harm your site and it doesn’t put you in a spammy neighbourhood as all of the links to your page are from within your own site.
It will be registering views and visits on your analytics too, so you’re still getting some extra traffic. If you feel this Iranian traffic is unwanted, not converting or are simply just annoyed that this site is using your content as their own, you can actually block iframe calls quite easily.
There are a couple of things you could do:
.htaccess
Simply add this line to enable iframe calls from your own domain, but block them from external sites:
Header always append X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN
Or disable iframe calls entirely with:
Header set X-Frame-Options DENY
These directives will only work if you have enabled mod_headers in apache.
Another way to deal with it would be to use a javascript redirect when the top url does not match the page URL like this:
if(top != self) { top.location = self.location; }
Hope this helps,
Tom

Hi, you should initiate an action against them but before doing that, have a word with them and ask them to take it down. They are trying to hijack your prospect visitors by showing your content in an iframe of their website. This is a known dirty trick. By the way, when I clicked the click you mentioned, it took me to a download and probably an adaware of malware.
Please do not keep quite and act now to have that malicious site to stop showing your content. Also, they are eating up your server's bandwidth. You can even complain this to the other website's hosting provider.
Good Luck my friend.
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi

Multiregional SEO - different website designs
Hello, when it comes to location & language targeting, is it possible to have different website page designs for their respective regions? So let's say we have one design for www.example.com/product-1 and a completely different design for www.example.com/us/product-1? Our branding is different for the US so would ideally like to use specific US designs for US pages. Thanks,

New website - not showing in Google?
This site was launched 3 days ago, bimcosupply.com and I'm trying to get it to show in Google just for a branded search for the moment (Bimco, Bimco Corporation, etc). The old site is still showing in search, bimcoplumbingsupplies.com instead. This site was taken down a while back. I set up a redirect for the domain in cPanel, and also set individual pages to redirect in WordPress on the bimcosupply.com site. I've verified the site in Google Search Console, submitted a sitemap and did URL inspection on each page. Each page is showing as indexed, though now when I search site:bimcosupply.com not all pages are there, and there are two results for the home page, one "https" and one "http." (Before today, all of the pages were showing so not sure what changed). I know this new domain does not have any (or very little) domain authority yet, but I would have thought that the site should display for branded search by now. So I'm concerned that something is wrong with the site, how the redirects are set up, etc. that is preventing it from displaying. Could anyone take a look and help me figure this out please?

How do you 'close down' a website?
Hello all, If a company acquires a smaller company and 'absorbs' its products and services into its own website, what is the protocol with closing down the smaller company's site? So far we added our branding to the site alerting their visitors to the imminent takeover, and 301 redirected certain pages - soon we'll be redirecting all the pages to their counterparts on the main website. Once that's done, should we noindex the old site? Anything else? Thanks, Caro

Add Small Relevant Posts to website?
Hello Everyone, I'm starting a new WordPress-based community site WP Temple. As a part of this site, i'm going to be adding a "Code Snippets" Section which will show visitors how to do very specific things on their site. These snippets, by nature, will be small articles but contain highly-relevant for search. Should this content be indexed and followed, as well as added to my XML sitemap? I appreciate the feedback! Whitespace INSIDE # tag harmful?
Hi, I understand that 'whitespace' in source code is absolutely fine and is stripped out. For example the following code is fine: Red Apples some text However, how is whitespace interpreted INSIDE html tags such as H1's? My Dev team have instructions to add H1's to a page, however they have done so like this: Red Apples (37 characters long) rather than this: Red Apples (10 characters long) Do you think this extra space will be harmful? The browser renders it fine, however if you use something like the mozbar plugin is shows the H1 length as 37 characters. I know the 10 character H1 is 100% relevant to the search term "Red Apples", however is the 37 character H1 only 27% relevant? (10/37) I've made the request to the Dev team to remove this whitespace because I'd rather err on the side of caution, but its been knocked back because the HTML spec specifies consecutive white-space should be interpreted as a single space and all browsers build the DOM by trimming a tags value - and they imagine search bots do the same so don't want to mess with the compiler. Anyone have experience of this? I've never had whitespace in a H1 before so don't know. Happy to leave the whitespace in if it's not going to be an issue. Thanks in advance
