Keyword used 1448 times ? for a Chinese page
-
Hi,
I tested my page grade here : https://moz.com/researchtools/on_page_grader_reports/1269197
Keyword : "專案管理軟體" , which means "Project Management Software" in Traditional Chinese.
URL: http://helpmecloud.com/clarizen-introduction.html
But the On Page Grader told me "We found this keyword used 1448 times."
I think the result is wrong, I guess you calculated all Chinese letters separately.
Am I right ? How can I get a correct grade for my page ?
Thansk for help!
William

Thanks Pixelbypixel and Erin,
I think it's the fundamental of SEO market in Chinese, Japanese, Korea. But, I am not sure it's related to UTF-8 code page ? My page is UTF-8. I guess it's related the 'phase' of the sentence. It's hard to make index by a simple rule. Moz parser engine don't know a phase is composed of 2 or 3 or 4 characters in a sentence.
For example: "專案管理" , "專案" means 'Project' , "管理" means 'Management', but "專" "案" "管" "理" each single character will be used in other sentences but with different meanings.
It's complex, I think google knew the rule very well. But, at least, you don't need to count each character. Because we will put the keyword by ourselves, we just want to know a phase "專案管理" , we don't care them separately.
Chinese and Japanese market is huge, why don't you hire a asian engineer to do such research ? The ROI will be great !

Hi Helpmecloud!
My name is Erin, and I'm on the Help Team here at Moz. Thanks for reaching out! Pixelbypixel is totally right, our tools have a really hard time reading non-UTF8 characters, which is why you're running into this! Unfortunately we don't currently have any work arounds for this, nor do we currently have anything on our roadmap.
Sorry I can't do more for you on the support side for this one. The good news is we LOVE LOVE LOVE feedback here at Moz. I'll definitely note this for our Product Team. I'd also like to encourage you to post this to our Feature Request Forum! Our Product Team monitors this forum, and they can chime in and let you know whether or not your idea is something we can bake in down the road!
Have a great day!

Hi William,
I know that Moz struggles with none Latin characters etc. which would be why its struggling. I believe the Moz team are aware of it but I do not know of any fixes yet sorry. You might find some 3rd party apps can help (though I do not know if they work with Chinese as its not a language I use for SEO)
You cant try Screaming frog for some basic things but you might have to wait for a fix from Moz
If you find anything let us know and I'm sure some one else might find it helpful too!
Sorry I couldn't help you more this time, Good luck!

Confused by "Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once".
Hi, I am using the On-Page Grader to improve the SEO for certain keywords on certain pages. I have received the notification that the "Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once". Well from the looks of it I have already done this but I want to make sure that im checking the right thing. What does it mean when it says document text as I assumed it was text on the page but its not reading it as that. Any feedback would be appreciated

All of a sudden a number of my key pages are getting 403 errors with Moz?
One of my squarespace sites has suddenly thrown up a number of 403 access denied errors for a range of pages on the site, according to the Moz weekly report. There is no access issues for these pages and nothing has been changes wrt url, etc..... so why the errors (which I am not seeing through SEM rush for example)? Thx, Phil

Keywords Score Meter
Hi Moz, I am using the keywords difficulty tool from your site and find it is quite useful 🙂 I research the community and find the data should be interpreted in the following way. But when I did a quick research for one keyword. The tool bar gives me a data of 22% showing in Yellow and says the keyword is competitive when I hover my mouse. Should this be **Blue **and easy to rank keyword based on the score? Which one should I believe? Sub 30 - (Blue) Low hanging fruit you can take advantage of. 30 - 35 (Green) Fairly easy with good on page and some quality anchored links. 35 - 40 - (Yellow) Will take a bit more work but still in reach may require, good on-site SEO and a solid link profile. 40 - 50 (Orange) Domain authority plays a much more pivotal role so it may take longer to rank for. 50+ (Red) All about resources. Onsite SEO needs to be totally nailed, including internal linking/ topic modelling etc. a strong & diverse link profile with good social signals and ... time. Thanks in advance. Keyword Difficulty and Analysis
Hi There - I'm using MOZ's keyword difficulty and analysis tool to understand the difficulty of a given set of keywords. To my surprise- I appear number 1 on Google, for a keyword with a difficulty of 36% On the other hand, for few other with difficulty in range 16% - 25%, I appear on the second or third page. In regards to page optimization, and back links i'm far better off on these ones than the other one (with 36%). Any reason why that would be the case ? PS: I've already analyzed the possibility of DA or PA, but it doesn't make sense. As the latter ones always scores better. Thanks, K

Moz reporting appropriate Canonical tag usage but no canonical tag on page !?
I take it this means that the page in question has been referenced via a different pages canonical tag but that the page in question itself does not have a self referencing canonical tag (and that it should do) cheers dan
