Any General feedback or Experience on Page Titles and Click Through Rates ?
-
Moz,
I have managed to climb onto page one for a couple of keywords i am really happy with,
Just looking for any feedback on page titles and different effects on CTR
The page i am working with is product pages
I tried a simple headline which was a branded product keyword, this way when the keyword matches the user search it will stand out as the the majority of the title is bold because of this match,, Example below
<title>Jeffs<strong> Lollipops</strong></title>
and my other option is to look at testing a more descriptive title to fit the limit
<title>A selection of sweet Strawberry and Cherry<strong> Lollipops</strong> from Jeff<//Title></p> <p>has anyone looked into this and tested for results in CTR ? i can see there being a youmoz about it somewhere?</p> <p>Alot of people i assume will just say test test test, but any feedback on how other moz users tackle title tags for CTR would be great,</p> <p>Thanks</p> <p>James</p> <p> </p> <p> </p></title>

Hello, I have a website that I have worked hard in developing and have tried to create useful content, however I am getting an 80% bounce rate. Can anyone give me some feedback as to why this might be? The website is www.usconstructionloans.com. Let me know your thoughts - thanks!

Is title tag length actually important?
Hey Mozzers, Here are some title tag facts as i see them After 50-60 characters Google shortens your title. You want your most compelling info in the title to be readable and not truncated, so it should be written clearly before the character limit. Most important keywords should be used used as close to the start of the title as possible. My question is: Does Google still index the words after 50-60 chars? Many SEO graders make such a big deal about length and i am wondering if they are wrong. Thanks, Nails

Sales pages or one site?
New client in the pensions market and they want to launch a new product. There are They have asked for a site build but my question is Is there a benefit to writing unique copy for this one product on each micro site/sales page and focus on a particular keyword, with an email capture for lead generation and also a link back to the main site. Buy domains with targeted keywords in them : www.workplacepensions.co.uk www.auto-opt-in-pensions.co.uk etc? Thoughts please as it will change my proposal 😉

Conversion Rate boost - Website Feedback
We are a relatively young company with an Okay conversion rate of around 2% across several different sales channels. I am mentioning this because our website with the same type of products has a very low conversion rate of under 1%. I know this is a deep topic, involving different analytic metrics, but would like to ask MOZ community members if there's anything obvious that needs improvement on this website www.cherrywalls.com that would help to increase conversions. I will be happy to answer any additional questions or to clarify things! Thank you for your time! Any suggestions and/or critique are greatly appreciated!

Google Analytics e-commerce tracking on multiple pages
Hi, I work in the airline industry and we are trying to implement Google analytics on our site. We are at the stage of getting e-commerce tracking setup. The problem we face is that we have multiple receipt pages (booking confirmation pages in our case) instead of just one as most carts would have. These are completely independent of each other. My question is can I use the same e-commerce tracking code on each page or do I need to setup multiple trackers. I reviewed the documentation here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/ecommerce#multitracker however I'm unsure if multiple trackers are needed when using it on multiple pages or is this just for multiple trackers on the same booking confirmation page. any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Thoughts and Experience with Spring Metrics?
Hi All: Over the past couple of months, I have heard a few people mention Spring Metrics as something I might want to try to help with conversions. Sure, SEO can lead a horse to water, but getting the horse to drink the water is a whole different issue. Do any of you have experience with Spring Metrics, and is it something that you would recommend to help with conversions? Has it actually made a difference for anyone that would make it worth the time and money investment?

61.45% Shopping Cart Abandon Rate - How to troubleshoot?
Hello MozPeeps! I wanted to see if I could get some help on the best method for troubleshooting our abandoned shopping cart funnel. Maybe point me in the best areas to research, or what are the best tools to use, or an improved method for analyzing and interpreting the existing data for more clarity about what is happening. I have attached the screen shot that shows what's going on. This account is using a Magento shopping cart with a custom built checkout page that is trying to copy Overstock.com's checkout page. Here are my thoughts: 1. Use Clicktale to monitor the checkout pages in question to try and get a feel for what people are doing or why they are clicking off? 2. Use another tool (not sure which one) that allows us to monitor page load speeds for the checkout process to see if orders are being hung up by slow loading pages. 3. Or, maybe 62% is not an uncommon abandoned cart rate and therefore we should just focus on automating abandoned cart follow up emails for the customers. Thanks in advance for any help! funnel-goal-visualization.jpg

Using overlay content on landing pages - possible? recommended?
We want to use an overlay, like a modal dialog, in a landing page to show more information to support conversion without linking to another page or using popups. Anyone have any stats on success or risks? We've considered simple roll-overs to provide some more info, but everyone has raised alarms that we may be introducing a potential technical or usability hurdle for users. The overlay would display when someone rolled over or clicked a "Learn More" link on the page to provide additional offer reinforcement points to drive the visitors from consideration to conversion. Aside from our own testing, we don't have any sources to cite as to whether this approach can or will impact or aid conversion. Any insights would be appreciated.
