How to Combine the Moz Keyword Difficulty Tool with Google Keyword Planner for LOCAL (city/town) Results

Hi there,
I wish that Moz would show local (city/town) results in their Keyword Difficulty Tool. But they don't, so here's my question:
I'm trying to rank for keywords "interior design" in a local geographic area in the US. When using Google KWP, I'm selecting all the towns I want to rank in, and searching against the keywords INTERIOR DESIGN. The search volume appears to be approx. 370 a month. What I'm not sure about is whether I should instead (or in addition to), be searching for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY), and leaving the geographic selection as US. What is most accurate?
OR...should I search for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY) in Moz's Keyword tool?
How do you guys do it?

You ask a really good question. How to do local keyword research is a question that comes up time and again in local circles. Bottom line is that while there are a bunch of keyword research tools out there, none are aimed specifically at helping achieve your goal. Moz's tool is no different. So my answer is not to recommend a specific tool, but rather to suggest you take a look at a couple of source of really helpful how-to information from Moz and Bright Local.
(1) Someone else asked a similar question on Moz back in May 2014. Miriam Ellis, a Moz staffer, gave an excellent answer. Check it out!
(2) Bright Local published a how-to article with some really helpful tips and tricks in July of this year - http://www.brightlocal.com/2014/07/22/effective-local-keyword-research/. It's well worth reading.

How do you explain this in this Keyword Difficulty Report?
Hello here, I am trying to understand how my site virtualsheetmusic.com can better compete for the keyword "sheet music download" where we used to be 3rd until a few months ago, and now we are at the 5th spot. But here is my specific question: I can't find an explanation why two of our competitors are ranked before us at the 3rd and 4th spot. Please, look at the attached image (very wide) which shows the Keyword Difficulty Report for this keyword. You can also download a PDF of it here below: http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/storage/keyword-sheet-music-download.pdf We are at the 5th spot, and the two competitors highlighted in pink are the ones I am talking about: I am trying to understand why they are ranking better than us, despite our metrics look much better than theirs. In fact, if I look at the metrics in the report, I can't find an explanation to justify their outrank against us, so there must be something else that the report is missing. Does a url with no trailing slash (/)need A special redirect to the same url with a trailing slash (/)
I recently moved a website to wordpress which the wordpress default includes the trailing slash (/) after ALL urls. My url structure used to look like: www.example.com/blue-widgets Now it looks like: www.example.com/blue-widgets/ Today I checked the urls using Open Site Explorer and below is what I discovered: www.example.com/blue-widgets returned all my links, authority, etc HOWEVER there is a note that says........."Oh Hey! it looks like that URL redirects to www.example.com/blue-widgets/. Would you like to see data for that URL instead?" When I click on the link to THAT URL I get a note that says_.....NO DATA AVAILABLE FOR THIS URL._ Does this mean that www.example.com/blue-widgets/ really has NO DATA? How do I fix this?

Keyword Difficulty Tool Full Reports - Are they correct?
Hello SEOMOZ Community I hope you can answer my following question. I’ve used the Keyword Difficulty and SERPS to analyse why my competitors seem to be higher than me in the SERPS for a certain keyword. The only problem I can see when I’ve done the full report is that our website has no internal links to the page we are trying to rank for, however when I go into Google webmasters tools it’s stating we have over 99,000 links. It would be Great if their were further integrations with Google Webmaster Tools
It would be great if their were plans to integrate Google Webmaster Tools into the mix. Specifically the Errors section. I am currently working on a new Campaign where I am seeing a little bit of overlap, but Google is finding all sorts of different missing pages from 3 redesigns ago but also quite a few current ones. Currently in SEOmoz: 0 Errors, while Google is reporting 12 - 403 Errors for some content the client unpublished. While the addition of Google Analytics was a nice, it would be great to dig further into Webmaster tools and Analytics with features that discover errors and provide actionable next steps. Is anyone else seeing these discrepancies between SEOmoz and Google Webmaster Tools?

Keyword Difficulty Tool - How to use it the best way?
Hi, I am freshman, both, here on SEOmoz and in SEO generally and have a question concerning the assessment of KW difficulty. I did browse through the Q&A-Section (great content!!) but could not find a relevant answer to my problem. So I am currently building my initial keyword list, our website is only 2 months old, so we are still in the very early stage. Fashion is a very competitive area, so the KW Diff. Tool indicates high difficulty for a lot of words and phrases. however, I identified some with percentages <50 or even lower than that. Then I compared the results of the SEOmoz tool to Google Adwards and the Google results for competitiveness differed significantly. For example: for the KW Personal Shopping I got KWD from Seomoz 33% (in Germany) and from Google 0,5 for broad and 0,64 for exact search. I am quite confused how to make the right choices for my KWs now. Which metrics should I consider most? What else apart from the competition factor is behind the metric KW diff.? Does it matter in any way that I search from Germany for Germany in German? Do you have any further recommendations for the process of identifying the best Kws?
