How can I easily combine moz page difficulty, google search volume and SERPS position?
-
I want to produce an excel spreadsheet that I can use to identify the best use of my content Writing time.
So Looking at a keyword list I want
- Current SERPS to show me where I am now?
- moz page difficulty score to show how hard I'll have to work
- google traffic estimate so that I can see the potential payoff.
I can can generate all these separately but combining them is a huge time waster as invariably the results don't come back in quiet the same order and a line by line check is required.
Part of the reason for doing this is keyword exploration so that we can find new niches by generating hundreds or thousands of keywords to test.

Egol....your #4 - content that I will enjoy producing is SO very important....I'd a put it up at #1!
-
Totally agree - if it isn't fun to write it's usually shit to read
For us there are two factors - the product keywords that bring in the leads and new customers. and the interesting articles that keep our existing customer base engaged. I like the Venn diagram approach and can see how it will help with both

I want to produce an excel spreadsheet that I can use to identify the best use of my content Writing time.
How to spend your content writing time?
My approach to this is very different. I use subjective judgements rather than numbers of debatable quality.
My content plan is more of a Venn Diagram that maps the intersection of these things....
-
content that my website needs to be a more complete resource (search volume is important here, but people don't always search for what is important)
-
content that I believe my visitors will consume (visitor behavior is important here but content that will surprise and delight is a fantastic force that stimulates sharing)
-
content that aligns with my subject matter abilities
-
content that I will enjoy producing
Items #1 and #2 cover organic search and social sharing. They also inform professional development and other investments that facilitate #3. But, #4 is the most powerful force in getting things done and getting them done well. If you don't have #4 then you have a race horse in front of a plow. You ain't the guy or the team for this website.

Email traffic tracking in Google Analytics
Hello! I have a question about how to assure email traffic is properly tracked in GA > Acquisition > All Traffic > Channels. **First, some background... ** Our company (Wisconsin's largest group dental practice) is about to revamp the way we try to re-capture patients who don't have a future appointment set with us. Part of that process will include emails. Those emails will point back to our website to request an appointment. Now to the question... Is there anything special we should do to assure that links coming to the website and the resulting appointment request goal conversions track appropriately and appear under "Email" in the Default Channel Group of Analytics > Acquisition > All Traffic > Channels area of GA? For example, should we use Campaign URL Builder to establish UTM links? Thanks in advance for any feedback. Erik

Google analytics suddenly stopped tracking all my landing pages
Hey guys. I love the new update of GA. Looks so clean. So, of course, I was excited to see how my landing pages were doing. I went to behavior, all content, all pages. And I noticed it's only showing me 19 pages out of the 93 I have indexed. And none of the top ones at all! Can't find them anywhere in GA! Anyone seen this before? Thank you so much

Variables in Google Tag Manager
Last week I got a great answer here on how to implement GTM and cross domain tracking, now that we have that in place I'm looking for some more advice 😉 I'm wondering that if we push variabels into the data-layer of GTM, can we actually use those variables in reports as well? Do they get recorded in Google Analytics? I'd like to use some data that we push to the data layer for segmentation purposes. Anybody an idea how to achieve this?

Is Google still differentiating TLD?
I need to find an article or something with factual findings that shows Google no longer gives extra value to .com, .net, .us, edu. etc. or proving that is still does.

Using Filters On Google Analytics
Hi Guys, I am In need of some technical help with regards to Google analytics. One of my clients has a site providing HR Software on SaaS basis. The users login via the site for the various HR Tools. Obviously this is skewing the analytics data and showing 10,000+ extra visitors that actually don't exist. Now I understand i can add filters and exclude certain pages for instance the login page, however, some users will visit the home page then click login. How can I exclude them just to show new visitors to the site rather than users that are just trying to login. Hope this makes sense Neil

Google Analytics Queries
Hi we used a web company who put our analytics under their company name we have left them and set up a new tracking code not associated with them, but we still have access to the data and it is all contained under the same login, is it possible to merge the two tracking codes? so that we have seemless history. Also does anyone know if you can change the primary e-mail address (gmail account) to a corporate email account? Any help would be appreciated as we have researched both and from what we have found we can't merge the data and also we are stuck with the primary email address.
