Rel next/ prev

We set up rel=next and prev tags on paginated pages with the same title- these are still showing as having duplicate titles - why is this?

Anytime! And you should be ok with Google. Our product team is developing a feature to ignore certain parameters in crawl diagnostics so hopefully this will help for most e-commerce sites once it's available.

Thanks David, was just looking to ensure it was the right thing to do. My understanding is that the rel next/ prev is the best practice for paginated content rather than the canonical which is for direct or near duplicates? It's always worth double checking. So fingers crossed it will not be a problem in terms of duplicate titles etc in Google with the next prev/next tag in place?

Hi Lee!
The only redirect our crawler will recognize is "rel=canonical," since it's considered best practice. Search engines are smarter than Roger, so it's likely that they recognize the tag even though our bot is missing it.
In the meantime you have a few different options. You could swap your "rel=prev" tags for "rel=canonical" tags, or just ignore the errors your seeing in your Crawl Diagnostics.
In the meantime, I'll be sure to note your feedback for our engineers and our product team. I can't guarantee that we'll change anything, but we'll definitely start keeping tabs on this as a feature request.

First off, I'm assuming you've create the tag correctly with a start and end page. Did you give the pages enough time to get re-crawled?

How To Stop Moz Crawl From Prepending /blog/ on all our site urls that it crawls
Hello, At some time in the past our WP site had urls like this: www.oursite.com/blog/post-title-pretty-link The site has not used that url structure for quite some time, but Moz crawl is still hitting every post with /blog/prepended and as a result is generating thousands of 404s. When the /blog/ is removed from the url, then the urls work fine. Where are those old urls being stored and how can we update them? How do we address this issue? Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks!

Need a link rel="canonical"??
I'm getting a Craw issue in my MOZ insights which says "It looks like you're not using the rel="canonical" META attribute on any of the pages we crawled" Do we need to have a rel="canonical" on our site? I can't find a reason to use it so don't know why it would be appearing as a crawl error? Thanks

Spam score 9/17 and redirect Question
I sat on a .com domain,  which name become increasing popular  (xyzselfie) for 2 years ... 4 months ago I hired a VA to do a task. A miscommunication made this person submit my domain to the spammiest directories the internet has to offer. Also because of the domain name and the .com a lot of asian or weird sites/things posted links to my site. I have worked on my site for the last 4 months trying to lower my spam score from a 9. I have:

-Disavowed all the sites that pointed to my site.
-Made more internal links
-Tried to make my content thickerÂ
-Included my email and social profiles to the site In the process my competitors site with exact domain name but .net and more authority came on auction, I bought it and I pointed it with a permanent redirect to my site (hoping my site would in time lose its spam score). This site will generate and income by appearing in search and adsense ads. After months of work I'm at a loss what to do. Does the spam score generally take long to drop? Should i try and stop the permanent redirect and direct my .com to the .net domain? Are there experts who can lower my score? Should I look for non spammy directories in its niche and submit my site to them to increase link authority and nofollow links ? Any feedback or insight would be highly appreciated. fFtTOFk0 -
My product pages have no weight / links from root domains with the Moz tool bar
Hi, When I view my home page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk) with the Moz toolbar, I see a good PA and a good amount of links from root domains. As I go down the site, it seems to get worse. The category pages (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Category/0/Straight_Foods.html) have a little but not much and then from this point onwards, it's nothing. The product page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods~Sunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html) is reporting to have no root domain links but I am not sure why. Interestingly, when I click through to a review page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/StockReview/0/SUNH/0/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html) it does have some juice. Would anyone be able help on why this is happening and what I need to be looking at in order to resolve it please? EDIT: I've been looking at the hyperlinks and notice something odd. If I review the score with the first link below, it gives a score of 1, but the second gives a PA of 13 with one root domain linked. 1:http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods~Sunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html 2:http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods%7ESunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html Please note the "%7E" instead of the "~" in the URL. The browser appears to show the ~ character no matter what but the rank of the page changes. I don't understand what the Moz toolbar is doing with this. Moz / more changes on the way?
I love Moz and the community and all the tools here. I admit I haven't rolled around in all the new things rolled out a few months ago. I thought there were more changes on the way but I wasn't sure if those already happened and I missed them or if I need to be patient? Affiliate program, client reporting? Thanks for any response.
